How to start a restaurant when you're underfunded. I've been a restauranteur for over 12 years (involved in owning or co-owning 8 restaurants) and have helped several others get started on the road to owning their own business.
Here's how it goes, I get a phone call and they say "Edgar, I have about $15,000 and I want to start a business, but I don't think it's enough" This video dives into how you can make it happen on a $10k-$30k budget!

I totally loved his presence he gave me so much positivity and he sounds so sincere
I appreciate your comment!
Hey man thank you very much for your advise honestly taking all this to heart. All I think about 24/7 is about to open up my own restaurant I feel like like no one believes in me but I’m going to make it happen, I have a lot of hunger and passion for this business.
believe in yourself and waatch the doubters fall to your feet
You need to believe in yourself first. When people see and feel that, it will be easier for them to believe in you and get behind your dreams!
When I'm older in going to open a restaraunt and I am really exited
🥳🥳🥳
Ok
You haven't even entered the market yet lol
@@Akash-hu3vb thats why he said when he’s older. are you slow or something

While watching your video, I felt something inside me that is incredible. I think this is so realistic and this helped me a lot while i'm doing my financial goals. Thank you!
Thank you for this, I'm glad it felt that way. It is very realistic. I ended up with several restaurants and a coffee company from all of this. Wishing you the best!
Have you open the restaurant yet. Because I am having the same goal with you
@@dukescott9888 Not yet. I am currently in my college years. I hope you do well, Duke. Best wishes to you, and your future restau!
@@mar8077 okay me too I haven’t start yet. I am private chef. My boss is a banker. But personally I’m thinking to be myself and stop working under somebody. I was so so happy watching this video. @Margaret Gerente. You can send me a text at sebokaetienne@gmail.com. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We always wanted to open our own restaurant but we have no money to buy equipment. After watching your video you give me a hope.
This is a great time to start building a list of places. Would be happy to connect. Best of luck!
Good luck on your journey. Thank you!
Very helpful! Thank you for making this video.
Thank you Caro!
Great tips. Thanks brother
Thanks for your advice man
Wow thank you for this amazing realistic, down to earth video .
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow these are amazing tips the first location I found was a recently closed restaurant
Yes, this is a great way to get in at a low cost, especially if the space has the equipment (hood system in particular). When you're ready be sure to negotiate hard, get free rent, make sure the equipment stays and ask for tenant improvement money (this may raise rent a little), but could make a difference.
It's going to be a different world after covid, but as long as you get creative as to how you deliver your product/experience to your customers -- you will do well! You should start social media now, get on UA-cam!

Perfect video thank you so much for sharing your thoughts God bless you
Thank YOU!

Theres a great opportunity ahead. Just have to time it right ✅️

i am a child and i know how to cook and my dream is to make an reattaurnt
Hey Tiggy, you should start doing some cooking videos here on UA-cam and try to get a local following - this way, when you open your first restaurant, you’ll already have a following!
my youtube thing when i record it stops recording with out me knowing and when i am done making videos it dose not even post
Hello friend!
Thank you so much for u nice video and all your good tips.
I been a cook for more 10 years on the same restaurant, I love it.... but now I want more.
I want my own restaurant. I wanna get bigger. May be I will try to do it by my own.
Thank again!
I'm happy to hear that. My point in this video is to share that there's a way, it's not perfect, but it's about getting started.
So simpel, so useful. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Aloha Brother, very helpful tips here. I hope to own my own little restaurant one day 🍽🥢
🙏🏾 I hope you do, and when you open please invite me!
Thank you so much...God bless you
Thank you my friend. Likewise!
Watching your video gives me hope to open my dream restaurant.. Thank you 🙏🏿
I am thinking about a new type of restaurants: eating-spots
in eating-spots, food keeps changing, chefs also rotate
this is opposed to current restaurants,
thanks to this rotation of food and chefs, eating-spots are more powerful than restaurants,
along with that, there is an app,
people vote for the food that will be cooked in the next days,
menu is influenced by the live input of the people via an app,
I hope you do it!
This was reaaaally helpful
Glad to hear it 🙏

Cheers Peter. Thank you 🍻
I'm in a small southern town and we hardly have any place to eat here...i want to open a small sandwich shop...thanks for the ideas
This is a great way to start without overspending
Me too.
Just seeing this now.
Am working on mine right now. Hope it be a success story.
You will be a successful story.
You are wonderful
So helpful
Thank you!
Wow great tips! Thank you man.
Do you Have any more advice? :)
That first tip is genius!
Can you expand on it?
How did you find the location for 14 k was it with your agent?
Is there any other way I can find cheap equipment? :)
After Coronavirus, you’ll be able to find these deals. Many restaurants will be suffering or closed and it will be the best time to step in and get the equipment for free as part of the contract negotiations. Keep your eyes open for the places you think can do well for you but are suffering now.
Dope video, make more about running a restaurant
Thanks for the feedback Will -- I have some more coming!
I agree
Good information 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. I would like start mediterranean restaurant
I now a location it’s a good price deal but with the pandemic every thing went down hope I can recover and buy it
Junior send me an email, let's talk > edgar@latinoga.com
If you use an agent, you cost the building owner more money, so your rent becomes more expensive.
It can, but agents can help negotiate better - especially when it comes to T.I. money
Great video. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Question: what car are you sitting in there?
Thank you. Do you own a restaurant or thinking about opening one?
Thinking about it. We have small kids and maybe not the right time.
I would start the pre order method first then invest in a food truck then invest in a resturant
After doing these, what's the next step as far as getting a License for it? Do u need to go to seminars or take classes before starting the business?
The licensing process varies by state and county. Have you already figured out the type of restaurant? - feel free to email me edgar@35.foundation
What about a restaurant that serves THC infused foods what sort of hoops would i come to expect?
I'm not familiar with THC infused foods or the policy, regulation around it.
I pray I find a place already set up!!!🤞🏽
It’s a great time!
thankyou so much iwant to open Restaurant but iwant know about .
Feel free to email me!
@@EdgarCarreon bro may I email you on a business inquiry

What do you think about business loans to start a small take out taco, tortas business?
I am thinking about a new type of restaurants: eating-spots

Loans can be a good option, it’s a matter of having low interest and good terms.
I want to start small restuarant but I have no experience? How should I do that?
Depends on what you mean by no experience. If it’s no business experience, I would look for a mentor (someone who’s done it), put a list of questions together and begin asking and researching. If you mean no food (cooking) experience, then go to restaurants you’d compete with and become friends with the cooks, until you can recruit them or make them partners.
Have you guys noticed that :
eating out is very difficult and expensive.
in an area, typically,
you might find an outlet selling pizza,
you might sometimes find a restaurant in which meals are quite expensive,
and that's it.
Here you barely have : very few foods, and they are expensive
You can eat almost nothing,
Do you guys see ?
This model is very inefficient
Eating out is nearly impossible
Something is definitely missing
it is : a restaurant where food keeps changing, food changes every day
Chefs also rotate
A meal is going to be cheap
You get new foods every day. After a period of time : you will have eaten thousands of foods
Do you see the difference now ?
This model is way better
Eating out will finally become possible.
Brick and mortar will never go away. It's about creating an unique experience. But there are scenarios where it doesn't make sense and in that case, if you really want to get into the food business, but don't want the location -- I would say check out www.cloudkitchens.com
Even i want to start restaurant iam from india ... my targets are africa ,us and southeast asia, greece ..... im cook nd culinary graduate chinese fusion, indian, southindian, pizas, momo, shawrma, rolls, pulav which will sell like anything ..... can i start with less than 15k dolars????
I started with 14k - I think it’s still possible.
Hi
❤🎉🤞🏽💫
Good video but those dings were so fing loud bro
Where do you find community bloggers?
I would google them, but I bet now you would be better off to find active neighborhood Facebook groups
I want to build my own building for my restaurant
That's a great idea if you can fund it. If you can own the building and the business = 🤑🤑
@@EdgarCarreon fax is it affiliated and I want to start fast food fantasies
Do i have 2 know how to cook to open a mom & pop small neighborhood takeout restaurant?
Not at all, but you do need to know someone who does. You need to be good at getting people to come through your doors and really good at listening to them.
When I hired my first cook, I just made sure they cooked really good at home and I worked with them to adjust recipe for larger volume.
@@EdgarCarreon thanks 4 answering question😊
@@jennyjones4875 No problem! I would love to hear some topics you'd like to learn about. I'm a 13 year restauranteur
How much do a restaurant pay in a year?
If you are sucessfull, about 15% -20% of your yearly sales.
Compa, help me get started $$$ 🤣
Let’s talk
How big is your first restaurant bro?
It was approximately 1,100 SqFt
That video of yours was very similar on we have in mind. Hope we will make it.
I can make good food, but I don’t like the idea of a greasy restaurant, I am out
What’s your Instagram! How do I contact you!?
@edgaricarreon
But I hate my family
You don’t need your family to launch a business.
You just need at least $50,000
I started my first with $14,000
@@EdgarCarreon can I start with a solid $10
@@calebfuller3394 The question isn't the money. 🧠 ❤ 💪
Underfunded, first step to failure
It’s a risk and you’re not wrong that being underfunded can create additional challenges. But, I ended up opening 7 locations and this is exactly how I started.
