I think the vendor and the dropped items were tuned up respectively because the max you could reach was Act 2. With better items, it would have made for a quick play-through for those who are initiated. GGG probably wanted to tune for just barely hitting the end of Act 2, at the most.
I did try Disenchanting items but you would only receive 1 shard per versus 10-70+ gold per. 1400 Gold for 1 Transmute for a chance of making an upgrade was not worth it when you could most likely buy one from vendors.
Curious on your opinion when it comes to the town portal and flask system. Since the game is hard and you will obviously use lots of flasks. That means you are forced to use town portal to recharge flasks all the time. The tuning can be changed but it seems like no matter what you will have to some degree. Especially during boss fights. And since flasks are unlimited due to town portal doesn't this mean chip damage is irrelevant? Chip damage that doesn't one shot you just makes you use town portal more often? Which is very annoying, where only one shot mechanics actually kill you. I imagine during boss fights you would just chug flasks to always be at 100% hp to hopefully not get 1 shot. And then spam town portal. Idk I obviously have not played but this system doesn't seem great from an outside look. Do you think the system is the problem? Or can it be fixed with just number changes? Would it be better if you just could not refill flasks and rebalance flask charges?
Yeah the flask system was a bit rough. You can see a bit of those troubles at 3:37. I ended up running through almost the whole zone, to lose mob aggro, to then portal and refill my flasks. Alternatively, I could've just died and respawned. It got better later on when I got Flask Recharge passives on the tree. I'm not sure I agree about Chip Damage. Sure, you can TP all the time but that's not fun gameplay. My gameplay experience improved a lot after I got Energy Shield and Life Regen on gear, and improved even more so after getting Flask Recharge passives because I could spend more time in zones, fighting monsters or bosses (versus tping to town and refilling flasks). I would also argue in the opposite direction, that flasks should also recharge versus normal monsters.
@@havoc616TV i think to have feeling of character progression you need to feel pain at first. If you feel ok at start it reduces the spectrum. For example in LE I felt no progression at all.
Game looks fantastic, my main complain from seeing many footage is flask charge. Not getting charge from white monster makes it painful to play, especially casters and that doesn't seems fun at all.

Solid takes ! Thanks for sharing :)
Have you tried dismantling items to get normal currency? transmutes/etc
Vendors have an option to sell or disenchant items, the disenchant function gives you shards based on the rarity of the item and consumes the item.
And selling the item gives gold.

Were you able to give the passive tree a deep dive, or were you relegated to just a section of the tree?
The tree is gonna through multiple iterations before release, no point looking too much into it
We were asked to not showcase the passive tree and avoid studying it to deeply
It will be changes hundreds of times before beta anyway so it does not matter
Hope they remove the well and flasks will automatically recharge in the towns. Don't want to know how often I will die because I forget to click
This is incredible!!
