I bought the 2019 transit 340l and now done 16000km. Absolutely love it. As a carpenter it does everything I need it to do and is a pleasure to drive. Will do my own owner video soon.
Lets be real here. did you expect to buy a new car and NOT love it? There was never going to be a scenario where you picked the car you hated the most. and in terms of reliability, 16000 km is the same as never having been driven. You and I should resume this discussion about how you "love" your transit when it hits 400 000 km.
How did you get a resale value from two new models, HiAce and the Peugeot? How did you compare performance without mentioning different powertrain options in the HiAce and the VW? Why did you not mention cargo space at all in the HiAce? This was not a review, it was a Ford advertisement.

How can any of these be worth $40k+? Just a steel box on wheels with a lot of the development costs having been done years ago, also many of the components being used across each manufacturer's range. Realistically, they should be about $25K if even that .

Because these are marketed as commercial vehicles. People don't want vans, they need them. Plus anything business related gets charged more, including utilities. Not easy starting out as a small business owner.
Thanks for the great review from the UK. Keep changing my mind on which van to buy in a year or two…. My current 2009 expert has been extremely reliable… just want something which is a bit more comfortable on longer journeys next and has more refinement in the cabin!

I is think you’ll find the hilux/hiace are most durable. Not the tricked up ones the simple ones. The ‘workmate’ is by far the most reliable car I have ever driven. And I know van guys who say the same thing about the Hiace.

Before you choose the top winner , you must show all of them to us in each individual category and rank all of them. And at the latest you must show the general winner and rank the others too! Don't know about Australia, but in europe the transit custom with automatic gearbox has a ridiculous low towing capacity. Where other vans are allowed to tow 2000 or 2500kg the Ford's max is +-1200kg (2600pounds)
if your head reaches all the way to the handle even thought you are wearing a seatbelt, then you were not going to survive regardless if the handle exists or not. So might as well have the handle.
The biggest van is a traffic. You can put palette of plasterboard in there. The space in the van and what you can carry is a number one question for traders like me. Kitchen and bathroom fitter
Love the Hiace hope they sell it in the UK. Rather have the Hiace than the Proace which is a rebadged Peugeot Expert. If they don't import it than i think you have to import it yourself
Ford certainly displayed clever thinking with side mounted tie points offering a flat floor surface for stability. Having load/boxes sitting at an angle with D-hooks piercing through the packaging isn't the best way to transport goods. That might even damage any blown up camping mattress laid down on the floor.
Hi Sir. How's the front suspension of the Hiace Sir? Is it still heavy duty? As it is now a mcpherson strut unlike before it was a double wishbone. I'm thinking of buying this or the older version.
The transits are absolute shite. Majority of tradies, couriers, and delivery drivers pick the hiace it’s been the best selling van for over 20 years for a reason.
The Peugeot is the best by a fair margin. Drives like a car, and lots of comfort and practicality in the cabin. Trafic is great too but just too unsafe. Like the Ford, but build quality not as good as the Peugeot.
In my work, i drive a 2019 fiat talento. Its basicaly a rebadged renault traffic. 1.6cc diesel engine. Its a small engine, but it runs perfectly. Its really strong up hill. I just dont like the back passengers windows.. that plastic peg breaks so easily

Mate you forgot to mention about the Ford Vans about their seats, for me it’s crap, as we cannot “lean back the car seats”....because isn’t enough space between the seats 💺 and the cargo barrier, it’s has no space, to do so!?? The cargo wall it’s glued with the seats 💺, looks like! It’s a huge problem for those w is going to be on the roads all day, seating in 90 Degrees(L) throughout the bloody days!
I drove vans all my life and trust me when I tell you than when it comes to vans there are only a couple of things that matter , firstly you don`t want a front wheel drive ( they suck ) and the second thing if you can is to try to avoid automatics ( they also suck ) also consider a DIESEL perhaps

@@ian9toes More fragile. Rear wheel drive vehicles in general have a more robust suspension setup, and is also less wear on the tyres. However in my experience, rwd vans get stuck much easier in muddy terrains vs fwd.

Wanted to order the 2019 340 s transit custom but with 2 side doors and in Magnetic colour have to wait 5 months its a special order but Ford says on the website these are your colour options no mention of a special or preorder till you call a dealer I had a flash back to 1920 when the only colour you could buy in the model t was black now in 2019 any colour as long as its White. Poor form by Ford Australia 🇦🇺
Unfortunately the Ford will depreciate the most owing to it not being reliable past the 100km mark and more rust than other vans.But you can't compare brand new vans for those qualities.
Toyota Hiace forever, got 2003 toyota Hiace done 340,000kms on the clock and never ever had a single issue rather than replacing Radiator. Its my daily Van and im a plumber got heavy tools on board with me and every day i drive minimum 100kms. Just bought brand new Hiace and will be arrive end of January 2023. Spend abit more and buy your self a toyota Hiace trust me it will last you forever
iload old engine tech commonrail. In my country its name hyundai h1 with 1500ppm sulphur contain (low grade diesel 0.38$/L). Still going over 500.000km just give pre fuel filter. Change oil and fuel filter every 5000km and still strong sometimes driver mix full tank lowgrade diesel with 2ltr gasoline+150ml 2cycl oil. its feel 15-20% power increase at low rpm. And sparepart are cheap. Just salesmarketing "T" poisioning every people in my country they told if iload/other brand spare part cost 3-5time more expensive. And just "T" brand have super realibility. Info hiace 2.5(2kd-ftv 101ps 0-100 arround 18-20second) more super slower than h1(d4cb 170ps 11-12second).
@V M I've serviced it every 15k, which is twice as much as the recommended intervals. All the issues are electrical. How do electrical issues make me a "poor owner"? The van is still under warranty, so they always fix it, but I will trade it in for something else as soon as the warrenty runs out.
@Yule Calma owned both. t5 is not smashing any hiace I can assure you. vw is an excellent performer, but when it comes to reliability, HiAce cannot be beat.

if the reviews are coming from an English-speaking country than there is no way any other brand comes on top other than ford no matter if other brands are studded with diamonds.
You can break into this generation of ford transit with a set of pipe pliers in 20 seconds flat. In the U.K. if your a trades man you can expect you van to be attacked. My old Mercedes Vito had the side door bent in half. If you own a transit in the U.K. you will have to get after market locks fitted. Any way I just got a new transporter on lease and am very happy with it. Had the option for the ford but the security is dog shit!

Samuel Lamont I can’t comment because I only have driven the Transit but the Transit is a great van. The interior is great, drives very nicely and with mine being the 6 speed manual it’s fun as well. So far no reliability issues and owning Fords in the past I haven’t had any. The Hiace does look like to be a great van but I preferred the way the Transit drives

What no one mentions is that here in the UK Ford's are easy to steal / break into, & so insurance costs are higher than the other models.

I've tested all of them and no the Ford Transit is just terrible. The Mercedes Sprinter 4×4 is by far the best van out there.
