By far the best explanation and demonstration of this process on UA-cam!! No fluff; No fillers; and No having to listen to 30 minutes of ridiculous babbling before getting to the point.....Thanks for keeping it simple!!
Nikki Robinson what a minute! I have no fluff? Lol thanks for watching 😀
@@TrevorsWoodShop how do you prevent it from coming off
This is by far the best technique I’ve seen for transferring photos.
Thanks for sharing!
Karen D will it come off if I wash it? Thank you
I have seeing several videos of "how to transfer an image into glass" and yours is the simplest of them all. You also don't blah, blah, too much like the others. Keep it up. I will give it a try.
Tannia Ortiz-Lopes thank you for watching let me know how it works out for you 😀
how do u do it..what r the steps n what materials..?
Are you kidding? You can't see the video?
with that eyeball you should be able to see ANYTHING!
You can print on a transparent sticker which costs about 5$ for a pack of ten 8 by 11 sheets and not be half assed about it. Is it really worth all this time and work to save 5 cents?!? I didn't think so
I’m working on wedding decor for our glasses and frames!!! For 3 years and this by far is one of the most greatest I’ve come across! Seems so simple. My dad also was a wood crafter. I called it when you used your exacto knife lol and your ruler haha my dad all the way! Love this video thank you for sharing!!!
This dude shared some good info... didn't cost people a dime ... and they come on here botching. I thank anybody that take the time to try treacherous me something
Derrick Stinoski it's people like you and comments like this that make my little channel worth it to me! And I thank everyone who takes the time to learn with me ...you all rock👍🏻
Derrick Stinoski super cool! Thanks so much for tutorial
I can’t believe I found this video and it’s that easy. I’ve been trying to find a glass etching/engraving place and all I needed was a print and tape!!! Thank you
You’re welcome! And thanks for watching
Best tutorial I have seen yet ! Straight to the point, and no damn music ! Thank you, going to try this tomorrow. I usually to wood transfers and been wanting to try glass for awhile. Some people's vid just go FOREVER !!!!!!!!!!!! :)
nonutsnorris thank you for watching! 😀 I hope it works out for you ..let me know how it goes and if you have any questions feel free to ask
OMG my sister 10 year anniversary is coming up in February was looking to find an easy practical inexpensive way to decorate wine glasses thank you for sharing awesome!
I'm happy this helped you out 😀 thank you for watching
😊😊 I'm starting to work on them as of today. You don't know how this helped me Out. Thanks Again.
Yes I just today came across his UA-cam! And will be using this idea! Hope your sisters anniversary was gorgeous!
Hey bud...I tried this, but added a tiny drop of dawn to the water. Worked magic. GREAT video
Hank Stokes great tip I'll have to try that out ...thanks for watching
@@TrevorsWoodShop what kind of paper did you use?

Idc if this was 6 years ago. This guy took a time out to teach us a new craft, and a lot of people come on here listening for whatever reason. Shame on all y'all. Hoping so you continue to make videos thanks for sharing
Clear, concise, and a creative solution to buying primers for the same method. Awesome video!
Thank you 😀
Very cool anxious to try but the coolest thing is that you answer questions! Thanks for sharing
+Henry Robledo give it a try and let me know how it works out and if you have any questions along the way feel free to ask! Thank you for watching 😀
I was trying to find a way to transfer a quote onto a mason jar, and this was the way I needed. The results of what I did weren't as crystal clear as what is shown in the video, but I'm still happy with how my project turned out. Thank you Trevor Carter!! :)
I'm curious does the image wash off? how long will it stay on?
It's good to see a lefty! Thanks, I will be trying this!
Great technique! Brilliant... I think if you add the pink soap, sometimes used as airbrush and paint brush cleaner (delicate abrasive) to the water it will cause all the paper to come after the first time.
Great tutorial! I enjoyed watching and learning, and can't wait to try this method! Thank you loads!
+Crazy Cat Lady I appreciate you taking the time to watch 😀
That is so awesome and easy to do! No need for gel mediums ! Excellent work!
Thank you!
Thanks for posting the video! What type of paper did you have the image printed on? Glossy or regular? How thick was it?
Thanks!
Great idea! I'veI never thought of or have seen anybody doing this on glass!
I learned about this technique as a way to make stickers. I plan to use it for resin work. I'd just use mod podge to seal it.
I would use dishwasher safe mod podge for using it on glass like that. It's a good way to seal it. Make it usable
Great idea it works. I used a ad from the local news paper ad put it on glass while i was watching you video.
George E Harrison the newspaper ad sounds like an awesome idea! I’m happy it worked for you 👍🏻
Love it, I'm left handed too and will give it a go tomorrow. Thanks for a great vid. Cheers from over the pond in the UK
Thumbs up to all lefties haha ...thanks for watching
Let me know how it worked out for you
ziggydog24 the information about the problem
Thanks so much! I’m doing a stained glass piece for my husband. He has a 53 GMC PANEL VAN WITH “Folsom State Prison” on the side and had no idea how to incorporate the sign!
Good video mate, seen this recently elsewhere but you did a good demonstration. Just subscribed to your channel.
Cheers from London England 👍💪😎🏴🙏
Do I dare wash the glass? I love this idea. I really like your sight because I like to be creative with wood, etc. but am also very left-handed.
Great tutorial. Short and sweet and to the point!
veaudor thank you 😀
That's really not an image transfer as it is an image sticking on to a glass. It's ok though. Not something I would do because eventually it will unstick
OH this was done in an easy to follow way!!! Thanks teacher Trevor Carter :)
You’re welcome Melba!
Great idea and project Trevor!! You could decorate quite a bit with this technique. Thanks for sharing!!
+Nicholas Gomez Thanks Nick! and thanks for checking it out
You rock Trevor! that is a great idea. you could so do it at home an make some fabulous gifts. LOVED YOUR VIDEO ♡
Very helpful tutorial. thanks.
When you was the glass does the tape come loose? And FYI, I saw on another channel if you rub/scrape it lightly but firmly then you can transfer that on to the glass and remove the tape, then stick it in the oven on 250degrees for about 15 min it will help it bake on and stay on. tfs your idea, hope you have a great day!
Can you send me the link of that video where they use the oven?
I was wondering if this is waterproof and if its not if there is anyway I could make it waterproof?
Thanks for the video you definitely are an awesome dude.
MOD PODGE IT
That's a pretty cool little way to customize something for practically no cost. Great job!.
Great job! brilliant! What about cleaning it in the dishwhasher? It needs a special copal? thanks a lot
Wow thanks a lot exactly what I was looking for, I want to decorate some glass jars for my daughters bedroom for the shells we collect when we goto the beach
Your way is so simple. Turned out great.
That is pretty sweet! That's a cool idea to make a set with different logos on it. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Mike! I love what you are doing with your xcarve that laser is pretty bad ass buddy
Thanks! It's pretty fun to play with and I can't wait to see what all I can do with it.
Hi, from Nottingham, UK.
To smooth out bubbles in the 'transfer tape' you could use an old store card and gently rub the bubbles out working from centre to edge.
Three generations of my mother's paternal family came directly over from Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. Ha!
Love and well wishes to my cousins! 😄💕
That's a great tip that always works 😀 thank you for watching!
What paper was the photo printed onto before you taped over it, was it just standard printing paper. Thank you
Love your method, great video. Super idea with the packing tape. Thanks so much.
Ellie Merc you’re more then welcome!
Love this! I haven't seen this method before. Thank you for sharing!
You're welcome 👍🏻 and thank you for watching!
Sorry if someone has already asked this.. do you think it would be possible to coat the glass in a sealant of some kind to make it water proof ? And what would you recommend if so please ? :))
I thought about decorating a shot glass for my friends birthday using this technique. Will this be safe to wash when finished? And what kind of paper did you use?
I really like this method. I'm thinking about doing this for a Christmas present this year. Now, clearly the tape won't stick to the glass forever, even with really good tape. I'm not very knowledgeable in this topic, so can you think of any ways to prolong the stickiness of the tape? Thanks for the tutorial!
how about spraying some spray adhesive on the tape before you stuck it on or a couple dabs of crazy glue to help prolong the stickiness? just a thought and might be worth a try :) thanks for watching
Adhesion promoter
Can't wait to try this...just wanted to share this you said you're left handed, well I'm right handed however I do all my crafts left handed...I know I'm strange lol but I can write with both right and left hand maybe that has something to do with it... anyway thanks for sharing this think I'll do a set for my family
How cool is that! Thanks for watching😀
Fantastic video! I'm making a shadow box for my fiance's Christmas present, and I'm going to put a design with his name on the glass. My question is, would this work with any color design, or just black?
Nicole Moser I'm sure if you used a colour laser printer (make sure it's a laser office printer) it would work ..try a small test piece before you print off the original but the process would be the same and should work 😀 thank you for watching!
Appreciate the video , I prefer printing on a clear vinyl and just stick it on the glass immediately
That's pretty cool. Never thought to use packing tape. Do you seal it with anything? I wonder how well the tape holds up to washings. (The other method usually involves gel medium and a sealer.)
Alice Shepherd it holds up quite well to washings but the best part is it costs next to nothing to make another one if it does come off 😉 thanks for watching
Right on. Thx for responding.
This is neat. You have given me a really good idea for my sister's birthday.
Thank you for sharing can’t wait to try it can’t wait to see where you take us next
Just to clarify- so you have washed them a few times and it stayed on? I just soldered over a beer mug handle for Father's day gift and was hoping to put an image of an old 70 Cuda on it but wondering if i will need to seal with something?
That looks great Trevor,
Thank you 😀
Thank you!best video after a few image transfer searches
That’s great to hear!
You've inspired me to have a go...it's so straight forward. Thanks.
Hey, just came across your channel. Great stuff.
What's the odds? I'm also a keen craft person, left-handed and, I'm called Trevor Carter !
How strange? That really spooked me.
Keep on craftin' buddy but mostly keep safe.
Best wishes from Edinburgh, Scotland ; ) TC
This projects looks fantastic. You make it look so easy. I am going to try it.
This is fantastic. Heaven knows I’ve pondered how to do a little project I’ve been wanting to do but wasn’t sure how to transfer my art to glass. Thank you so much for this. 🙂
I'm a lefty too. That's a really cool technique for making transparent stickers.
+Wood 'n' Stuff w/ Steve French I love being a lefty! thanks for watching Steve
I swear we need to form a lefty union of woodworkers to lobby for tool equality.
tim sway
For the most part, I'm able to adapt well enough to the world of right-handed tools. But there are definitely times where other-handedness would be nice. Maybe we need a version of Ned Flanders' "Leftorium" for tools and tool accessories.
Right. I've adapted, too, of course, but I'd love to have the angle grinder shoot sparks away from me and not have to palm a safety trigger at least once...
tim sway
I agree. Some tools would be better set up for a people in their right minds (lefties, that is)!
Rally Great Idea!! Thanks for Sharing!
Thanks for watching!
this looks great and easy. can't wait to try.
let me know how it works out :)
Very cool technique! I've been looking for something like this
Thanks for sharing Trev, what an excellent job. Will be trying this later.
John Voak thanks for watching 😀
oh I love this. I am gonna try it and maybe put something to seal it. thank you for sharing the idea. cheers from trinidad...
I thought about sealing it but couldn't think of anything ..let me know what you come up with and how it working out for you
Trevor, going to use glossy accents. Will update.
Mod Podge might work for that
Doom Zen i tried the mod podge...but it came off when washed. However, if as a souvenir, and it won't be used, it would work. The glossy accents took some time to dry and was a bit raised but stayed on, dried clear and looked great.
@@TrevorsWoodShop you could try an automotive clear coat after scuffing the glass with a grey scuffpad ..I'll try it sometime..
gr8 video m8, how long does it stay on the glass for? cheers Graham
mine has been on for close to a year but i don't use them much its more for decoration or special occasions ...thanks for watching :)
Thank you so much for this. Using this technique right now for a school admission project.....wish me luck ahahha
Excellent Video! Thks for sharing! Hopefully this will work with my inkjet printer. I am going to make labels for my odds & ends in my pantry cupboard!
You will need a laser printer to make this work, I tried the inkjet and the ink just runs
Love your exacto knife. Great video.
Hello fellow left hander. Love this idea.
Thank you
It’s nice seeing someone else who is left handed
Hi, this so cool, I am planning on making these for guests at home. But I intend to actually use them, had a quick question. Should I be removing the tape after the transferring the image, or should I leave the tape on ? How much will it hamper the image when I wash the glasses with soap etc.
Would be nice if you had an answer.
Thanks
You will have to leave the tape on the glass cause that's what the image is permanently stuck to ..and being able wash the glass afterwards depends on what kind of tape you use I tried cheap tape and it came off after a wash or 2 but better tape seemed to hold on longer ...I mostly use mine as decoration glasses now
Trevor Carter Thank You, will try it and let you know how the final result came out. It has to be a lazer jet printer right? Ink jet wont work ?
+Kayomarz Bacha yes I used a laser printer ..good luck and let me know how it worked out 😀
Thank you I enjoyed this it's something I was looking for
Wow! That really neat and cheap...Thank you for sharing! What kind of paper do you use and can use any photo?
Thank you! I just used regular printer paper and you can use almost any image you can think of 😀
Sir, I just want t make sure I understand this, are you using inkjet printed image? Please answer because I really like it.
This is the easiest, most precise way to transfer, loved it!
Thank you
You make it look easy. I've got to try it. Thanks
nothing wrong with being a south paw. thanks for the video!
Ecosse57 thank you!
It's a great idea. Have you come up with something where I can remove the tape?
Thanks needed a way to avoid buying a overpriced gift.
You’re welcome! Happy to help
I tried this, thanks for your help! I didn't let it dry first. I placed it wet and it gave some move time and I squeegeed it with a card.
Do u know if this will work on a colored photo ?
Great video! And ur cute and not annoying! 😁
Its good. Instead of the tape can we not glue it to glass and then take the paper out? Will it stick to glass then? Interesting thing is you just taught me and all how to create stickers!! Thanks. ( nit being sarcastic.. really thanks man)
this works GREAT on a "special" occasion full wine bottle ... I removed the original label and put my own on it to celebrate a 50th wedding Anniversary.. after they drank it.. no washing just placed it in the china cabinet for viewing! super keepsake!!
Thanks for watching I’m happy it helped you out!
That was fantastic. Any idea of its permanence, especially if you do want to use it and wash it?
Hi...do you use inkjet or laser printer....cause I try with the inkjet and when peeling the paper goes off....
Very nice video exactly what I was looking for. Well done! thank you.
Happy it helped you out! And thanks for watching
great ! thanks for sharing this video. Is the sticker moving quickly, when you when washing the dishes?
Mine are still on there after all this time but I don’t use them much, they are more for decoration for me
What paper do use for printing?
It's for decoration only..very nice tutorial!
Love it! Super easy, to the point and I really enjoyed watching! You get a thumbs up from me, a subscription and a smile for the shirt too!
Well done, Trevor!
+Andy Birkey Thanks Mr Birkey :)
Is a great idea...It looks very good but I think about how long it will stay there ... because of the glue on the tape Because you put it a lot in water. Hopefully you answer me.. maybe you help me giving me an idea if I can put glue on it for longer time.
Paola Lo you could try glue to make it last longer but I just hand wash these glasses and try to be pretty careful with them and they seem to last quite a while, either way tho it’s super cheap to make more stickers for the glass
What about if you wash it up when doing your dishes? Would it peel off? Xx
If I use a hair dryer instead of putting on water you think it’ll work better?
What a great idea! Is there a special paper to be used? Regular printer paper or photo paper? and can colored ink be used?
I just used standard printer paper and a laser printer, and yes if you had a colour laser printer it would work too, thanks for watching 😀
Will this method work from a regular snatshot photo?
Do you think Loctite Ultra liquid control super glue help it stay on longer through washes? Its dishwasher safe.
It might help! And for the cost of doing this project it’s well worth a try 😀 thanks for watching
Hey... Great video! I had a doubt though... After you rubbed off the paper, you left it to dry. How does it remain sticky when you press it on glass?
+Tvesha Kothari the original stickiness comes right back after it’s dry again
DIY sticker...still though it would come in handy for custom made prints and to put on wine bottles
I never would have thought of wine bottles ...great thinking and thanks for watching
Does it have to be a laser printer cuz I'm trying it and it's not working am I the only one
Jamie P gotta ask but are you sure you’re using a laserjet printer (toner cartridge)? Inkjet printers are more common for home use
If you’re doing it on a board instead of glass you could also just use an iron to heat transfer it
Really cool idea!!Keep up the great work!!
+Tommy G Workshop thank you sir :)
Very nice and easy. I use tape as a photo protector as well and for cards too. Thank you.
Can you do this on a regular printer or on a laser printer ?
