      @@AQUAHOLIC Nick, I have seen this vid at least 4 times (I've seen all your vids at least twice) Every time I see this boat, I want it more and more. Sure going fast and "tubing" is fun (for the young I'm 52) but there is so much to be said for anchoring somewhere, looking at the Milky Way at night time with Marianne (me with my girl) and waking up and having a nice cup of coffee. This boat looks manageable for family as opposed to that really huge Nordhavn where you would need a crew. So, small dream, this ship. Big, huge, all,the money in the world dream the Nordhavn 120. ..Zaine

      Mm Mm I mean the entire point of these boats is redundancy in case anything breaks, and construction built to handle rough weather. I’d agree with you if we were talking about something like a Pearl or a Princess, fancy looking hotel rooms that spend their whole lives in a marina in the Med. these things are literally built to be tanks, one of the cofounders took the 40’ version on a full circumnavigation a few years back to prove it

    • @aux1z11
      @aux1z11 3 роки тому

      Better yet and much safer is to use this on the great lakes all around one side of Michigan to the other side and back again, and if that wasn't enough take a ride along Ohio and Pennsylvania and New York and Canada then go back to Michigan to your own dock on 30 acres of Lake Erie. But a Bering 80 would be much better.

At 2 million cost plus 200K annual boat expenses...lets say a 30 year mortgage would be a 15K monthly payment, so 180K annually, so basically 400K per year among 6 people is 70K per year each. will be a very high interest rate ( over 10% ). Ideally there is no way 6-Middle income people would be given a loan for a Boat !!! Boat's do not
      increase in value (like homes) and it's a luxury item. I owned mine with 1-other guy ( I can't imagine 5 )

    I appreciate the way you differentiate boats between serious cruisers/live-ons and pleasure/luxury types that, to me anyway, seem to be more about impressing in port and taking shorter cruises or having a crew than being easy to live in and maintain. That's one of the CLEANEST wire panels I've seen, excellent cable management, outstanding access, to the thrusters as well, to virtually every engineering kit. It's full size, crawlable if not standable but you don't have to lay on your belly in the elements if something fails in a storm, INCLUDING backup systems... it doesn't have the overt sensuality of some of the yachts you see, but if you're really going to venture about in a big boat, ESPECIALLY if you're planning on being your own skipper, so I suppose I mean if you're planning on OWNING and maintaining yourself, this is really what you should consider in your decision making.
    It's not like the interior isn't impressive. It's one that feels something like I'd imagine the library of a English manor home. Still, some of the truly beautiful yachts I've peeked into, while having stunning interior detail worthy of a Park Place penthouse, and luscious accents with nice broad beams, are far more difficult to maintain yourself and honestly less seaworthy. There's a significant cost difference to ownership if everything that has to be maintained requires having to pay some technician to do it for you, or, Heaven forfend, it has to happen in a gale in the middle of a cruise. Ok so this won't attract every bikini clad beach bottom on the pier, but when you have to DIY, especially in harsh conditions... you'll REALLY appreciate how you spent YOUR money. But I'll admit my bias since I am a diver. It's fitted really well for diving.

      I like the mechanics and ruggedness and standby emergency engine. The interior is ostentatious. This little ship could carry a science research crew and equipment that would do the world some good. The wealthy owner could then feel proud of his $2million purchase and lots of people would admire him, he would get a lot more street cred.

      gašper šega nah, stayed on a 42(?) ft American tug a year ago up in Jacksonville Florida doing some interior woodworking. She was a $500k yacht. Exterior looks very similiar. Interior had some crazy beautiful sapele mahogany wood working. Non the less, these boats are gorgeous! But in my opinion they are all money holes unless you truly have the money for up keep 😬

    I've only recently found your videos, and short of seeing you actually being able to take them out for a cruise, which of course I realize is a BIG DEAL, you make excellent videos describing details that matter with a wonderful vocabulary, a respectable knowledge of yachting, without a straight-up sales job that you'd get with some of these videos. I'm only dreaming of course, but you make it so fun and take us well into these wonderful boats.
