    If they can't pay, then scrap the pay of all legislators to zero naira, while the president earns a paltry sum of 60000k monthly, while his cabinet members earn 15000 naira monthly....

      He is a glorified clown, a glorified joker 🤡🤪. He may hate the way politicians are living ostentatiously but don't come on air with ridiculous fake figures/data to support very high minimum wage increase instead of a realistic wage increase..smh.

      The minimum wage shouldn't be anything less than 200k. Just for my breakfast cost about that same 2500, i don't know how this mam believe that a family of 5 will be using only one tin of milk for breakfast, that must be a very poor family. I believe for a family of 5 that want to eat breakfast the way i do it wont cost them anything less than 10k for breakfast in Nigeria 9:38 .@@4evertrue830

    I think everyone should be on minimum wage. From the Senate to the house of Rep should face salary reduction. Even the president and the vice president should go through the same process. Their salaries should be slash down.

    Minimum wage is not the issue right now, just that the labour union didn't have a deep thinking... The issue is the price of commodities and things out there..
    Even if minimum wage is N1,000,000 per month ... Workers and the unemployed Nigerians will have to buy things at highly price ... And it will bring more hardship to the citizen... Now price of foreign rice is N80,000 . By then may be N500,000
    Talk to the government to regulate price of commodities in the market.. even if minimum wage is 30k

    • @testingoyay4648
      @testingoyay4648 Місяць тому

      you mean subsidize the price of commodities? cause that's what price regulation means, otherwise you're telling someone that regardless of the cost of producing something they have to sell at a particular price point. Thats how you get no economy cause if i can't make money i won't bother getting out of bed...

    • @beatsmithx1090

      Lack of price control hurts the country really bad. Everyone can just raise their prices of their products without penalty. It's one of the things the country needs badly

    • @beatsmithx1090
      @beatsmithx1090 Місяць тому

      @@testingoyay4648correct me if I'm wrong, but if there's working price regulation, wouldn't the cost of production be cheaper, which will lead to better prices of products?

    • @4evertrue830
      @4evertrue830 Місяць тому

      @@testingoyay4648 That is one way to go about it, but a better way is to flood the food market with cheap imports from neighbouring countries to reduce high food prices.

    • @4evertrue830
      @4evertrue830 Місяць тому +2

      @@beatsmithx1090 In the 60s, 70s and early 80s before military intervention into politics, price regulation of food items and other basic essentials worked well at the time because govt was in control over most essential means of production in the economy. Unfortunately since the IMF/World Bank privatisation programme which is still ongoing, trying to regulate prices of finished food items and other basic necessities will not work anymore. Previous govts made a big error with the privatisation of crucial sectors of the economy. Privatisation always leads to profit maximisation which is always in conflict with public interests, i.e interests of the masses.

    • @davedynasty9077

      Yes ofcourse, there is no other way to simply put it, first of that should help with adequate housing, and access to health care, allow for parents to manage their families because that means they can afford school fees, they can have family savings, and can at least have breathing space to live their lives. That's just putting it mildly, because that's just roughly 230 dollars a month compared to the 30000k monthly which is just shy of 20dollars monthly, at least this should get the leaders thinking, am sure they remember that they campaigned to increase production at all levels, well this is their opportunity. Also, there are no unskilled workers. Rather, there are not so many skillful and scalable jobs. Therefore, it makes sense to broaden skills acquisition.. there are many variables t consider no doubt, however, a minimum wage should reflect the dignity every citizen should get. That's my view.

      @@4evertrue830 Why is it hard for you to understand things? What I'm saying is that the real value of 30k of two years ago is now 105 to 120k based on purchasing power. These things are determined by the value of our currency. If a bottle of Pepsi a few years ago was 100 Naira and it's now 350, same with almost everything in the market, are we supposed to leave salary at 30k? The 120k minimum wage is what an American unskilled worker receives in just two to three hours of work in a single day. Why are we enemies of progress in this country? It's evil to be against making life better for the poorest amongst us. It's pure evil or maybe jealousy.
