Shrek: 7/10 Comments: It's a decently fine film with great morals and witty humor. Shrek 2: 9/10 Comments: Easily the best in the series. Holding Out for A Hero is legendary. Shrek the Third: 2/10 Comments: Ruined the series. Unfunny, bland, and flavorless. Shrek: Forever After: 8/10 Comments: A worthy ending for this franchise. Foafy, you need to see it. But yeah, Shrek doesn't need to continue. Shrek 4 capped it off so beautifully that a sequel could ruin the entire purpose of that movie. Edit: I completely forgot Puss and Boots was a thing. 4/10 Predictable and painfully average, but a fun journey.
I remember being very confused when people on the internet started collectively agreeing that Shrek 3 was the worst...because it's probably the one I've watched the most (it was the only one I had on DVD for a long time so I couldn't watch the others) and I can't physically consider it a bad film, even tho I know the others are better, especially the 2nd... (AND! you should ABSOLUTELY watch the 4th, imo it's really good despite what some people think, it gives a good spin on the whole story)
@@joshuacastillo6003 mmh not sure, I've heard bad comments about Shrek 3 from other creators before him, but there's a chance I simply watched their videos before his
I thought Shrek the Third was boring, even back in 2007. Hell, years later in high school, me and one of my middle school best friends would literally shit talk the movie constantly whenever it came on TV as a small inside joke between us. It always made us laugh without fail. “Shrek the Third? A S S .” is what we’d say just to make each other laugh. You can tell the kind of teenagers we were from that alone. lol
The first Shrek was iconic (obviously), the second Shrek SLAPS and you can’t tell me different, and the fourth Shrek is super underrated and I really like it! I didn’t mention the third Shrek movie because it doesn’t deserve to exist. Like I’m so serious if the fourth Shrek movie came after the third, NOTHING WOULD BE DIFFERENT. Literally nothing happened in the third movie. Thank you for listening to my Ted Talk.
I absolutely love Shrek and Shrek 2! I've seen them many, many, many times. I also totally love Shrek the Musical on Netflix!! I've watched and/or listened to it at least 100 times. The jokes are just as funny as the movies and the songs are fantastic!
6:14-6:21 I think that bit was the funniest part of the video! Thanks for making me laugh every time. Edit: After actually watching all of the main Shrek movies for the first time a few weeks ago, that joke is even funnier now.
We read the book in my 3rd or 2nd grade class. I specifically remember the book said "ass" (referring to a donkey) and my class got yelled at for making jokes about it....we were kids. You think we aren't gonna think that's scandalous and funny!?!
Shrek 5 is a go because they learned that dissing the future is the way to go. (PS Shrek 2 was amazing i remember for some reason the song that played when Shrek attacked the castle before the wedding)
I liked your video. And I agree Shrek and Shrek 2 were epic at the time but 3 and 4 killed it for me too. And absolutely the dance party ends were magical for me too. 👍🏻😂🤣 I love music.
I say this as somebody who was born in 2001 and is nostalgic for every film in this series: Shrek 1 is perfect, Shrek 2 is even better, Shrek 3 is garbage, Shrek 4 is okay but feels very disconnected, and Puss in Boots is a really good movie but it’s kind of its own thing.
Hey umm do u mind doing a brief history on wakfu it is this really cool show and is actually my favorite show and it would be really cool if u did a brief history on it seeing since it's getting a new season next April so please think about
Shrek Forever After is what Shrek The Third should have been. It won't ever top the success of Shrek 2 but for a finale to the series, it did a pretty good job. ...and the Puss in Boots movie wasn't that bad imo
The Shrek Trilogy is a masterpiece. Until How to Train Your Dragon came along. The Trilogy of Shrek 1, Shrek 2, and Shrek Forever After were DreamWorks' best films.
This Shrek 5 is unfortunately going to be a reboot by Illumination, and let's just say I'm a little disappointed about that. I would like to be surprised by how it turns out, but I'm not holding my breath for it.
WATCH. SHREK. FOUR. Seriously, it's way better than Shrek 3 and basically tells you the general plot of it in the opening seconds so you never have to watch Shrek 3 again
"[...] Markiplier gets eaten by a dragon [...]" What with Unus Annus' weird outros and everything going on this year in general, this sounded perfectly reasonable to me.
there's at least 4 better movies that came out the same year, two of them made by illumination actually but to be fair, 2010 was the best year for mainstream animation in my opinion so there's that
@@bleumki I agree. 10 year olds weren't even alive when the final movie came out if I recall. I'm 25, and I remember when I got the first Shrek on VHS for my birthday.
Shrek 2 is the best Shrek movie. Try to prove me wrong. (You're allowed to have your own opinion btw) (For real though, Puss in Boots was a great movie)
When Spielberg bought the rights to Shrek in the late 90s, he initially wanted to do it all in motion capture. Just imagine Shrek but in the style of Polar Express... 🤮🤮🤮
Emerson Fleming He actually originally wanted it be live action. However, he thought it works as an animated movie instead, so he gave it to Dreamworks, which is co-founded by Spielberg to make this film. Also computer graphics weren’t advance enough to do motion capture. I believe the first movie that did this was The Polar Express.
Rickalicious1 yeah I slipped up on that. Initially it was intended to be live action, but Dreamworks did create test footage for a mocap version of Shrek. However, due to high costs ($30 million just for a 15 minute demo) and uncanny valley, Katzenberg scrapped it for a CG style akin to Antz.
