HONEST OBJECTIVE and DOWN-TO -EARTH take as always !!!! Out of all the things that I admire about you, I cherish your honesty the most! I live close enough to the school and felt that I could do the classes, but not afford the equipment so have put it off. You have brought some things to light by sharing your first hand experience. Thank you,Cory
Ellen Atkinson it really is important to invest in ourselves. I am so glad I have had the opportunity to do that this year. Yay for the hammer handpiece. I love that tool.
Thanks. I am pretty sure I have a hater. It doesn’t matter what I post, as soon as a new one comes out, I get a thumbs down. 🙄 I guess I can’t please them all. 🤣
Hi , why did you place a metal plate underneath the benchplate, for extra height perhaps? Are you also using a 0.05x lens for the Leica, the working distance seems like 200mm from obj lens to ballvise. Can you also tell me what magnification is common for stonesettings?
As it wasn't my bench, I am not entirely sure. But it does look like it is to bring the plate that bends over the top would be the proper height to attach the various accessories and such. I am still not very proficient on all the of microscope settings. I know that for me personally, my zoom level changes as I am working on a piece. A really good person to ask some of these questions would be Sam Alfano or Blaine Lewis. Sorry I am not help.

what a beautiful girl
Thanks Melissa!
That must be really worthwhile and interesting, a microscope (one day if I live long enough )
It is certainly a game changer.
I’m also planning to buy a Leica a60 together with the small super expensive bowlingball, hopefully I’m getting that money back....
