Patrick Germond, I had the same thoughts, while watching it. I had been married for over 2 years when I got drafted in 1966. While in Nam ( Combat Vet and we never went back in, like others ??) My young wife worked at the University. When these guys would get dear John letters from fiances, girl friends and wives, your mind starts wondering, where it shouldn't. People now days can't imagine going 365 days without talking to their wife ( she was 21 when I got drafted ) Been married almost 54 years now to a wonderful girl, also. 1/8th Cavalry Jumping mustangs
Watching this is breaking my heart knowing you guys aren’t together anymore. I have searched my whole life for what it seems you two had together. I guess it just reaffirms my pessimistic thoughts that there is no true love anymore. Sending much love and prayers to all of you.
We are a military family. The first time I saw my husband off was to a war zone for 8 months, (I did this four times in total over the span of his career) while I stayed behind with two children in a foreign country without any friends or family, worrying if my husband will be blown to pieces or if we would ever see him alive again; we did, thank God....that's hard! Fast forward a few years, our son, at 19, now military himself, and we had to see him off to the front lines of Afghanistan where he spent 19 months in a desert living in a FOB right in the middle of a war zone. Believe me, it was harder for us to see him off than leave ourselves for military duty! Our son is special forces and has done many dangerous tours since then and he is still serving our military. He is 34 now, married and a daddy himself. Hubby and I are now retired; I myself am also a military veteran, injured on duty and permanently disabled (spine injury) medically released after 20 years of dedicated service, as a result of my military injury. We are proud veterans! Our daughter is in Police Services, she is a Sheriff, that puts her life on the line every time she pulls on her uniform and walks out the door. We are a VERY proud family and we have made/tried to make a difference in the world and we would do it allll over again in a heartbeat! (Minus my busted spine) Family stick together and depend on each other, those that do this, make it together!! I can see that you to have a strong family and that you guys WILL grow old together; be there for each other always, through thick and thin and you will make it....like my family! Be proud of yourselves, because you have a unique family, a very rare breed....just like us, just like my family!!!! We survived, we are happy! Congratulations on your winning! God bless your family! xo
Hey Brother, since I'm new to your Fan base, I'm just getting to watch your videos! Thank you both for sharing your life and experiences with us! Please give my condolences to Ms Jamie for her loss! Hoping you all are well and that God is blessing you and your beautiful family abundantly🕊
This is the best of all your videos. This is what connects us all... being human and facing loss. Thank you so much. Condolences to all on the painful loss of your brother, Ryan.
With much respect from the bottom of my heart, knowing things have changed. That's the most beautiful love story. Very touching. Thank you for sharing ❤
Being a single father is hard. Only seeing your kid for very limited time is lonely. You have so much alone time all you do is think of them and how there doing. And then it gets harder when you have to deal with questions and awkward meetings with the ex, you hope will go better but she's in a hurry and needs more money, so you tell her you love her and take your kids for the weekend. And then GROUNDHOG DAY BEGINS, IT NEVER CHANGES! BYE 🙋😭😩😲😢😐😤 , AND HI 🙌☺!
Thank you.💕 I saw his adventure, but Jami you brought it to another level of real, You need to write a book. I'll buy the first copy.😊 Thank s again for sharing your heart.
Mister Fowler, I happened across your video on keeping a fire going for 50 days and saw the reference to Alone season 3 so I watched the last episode and realized we are kindred spirits; I fell in love with you and your wife, you guys are truly amazing. Much love to your family, I'm so glad you guys are enjoying the success of your youtube channel and the prize winnings from Alone. Keep up the great work!

Wow. First...what a great idea and tribute to Jami's intestinal fortitude and courage. Also, a testament to a fantastic marriage relationship and family. Jami, you are a wise woman to know that you had to downsize the farm and sell the animals to get through the time Zachary was away. What a heartbreaking loss, and huge hurdle to get over for both of you. Your steadfast love for each other and your kids is a wonderful thing in an age of instant gratification and cynicism. Jami - you knit like my Auntie Betty - she could have a conversation while she knit with 4 needles. I think this is extremely atypical - that Zach knew what happened at home and had to deal with that sadness for you and guilt, but still managed to pull out a win. You are an amazing family. True soul mates. Can't wait to see the inevitable All-Stars series as I'm sure Zach can win that, too. All the best, guys. " Long may you run" !
I don't know what she is talking about that song was the fire. all joking aside I love this dude so much I also love Jami she is a trooper you guys inspired me thanks so much.
Zach this is a beautiful video. The love you guys have for each other truly transcends the screen just as it transcended all those miles! Amazing job on this video my friend.
Thanks for sharing your personal lives. That was touching and started to tear up myself. You are blessed . Not many have what you two do in a loving family. Don't let the world change you, you all change the world.

Fowler's Makery and Mischief - I think if your wife does a simple how to's on lessons learned that would be good. Take a look at 'thejapanchannel' which is an Astrailian guy married to Japanese woman. He has a series on how to's and also buying a home and how he fixes them in Japan series that was really interesting. I think if you did a series on how you built the green habitat and how u maintained them where u used to live, ppl will be very interested also. Again you have a wonderful family and great videos and editing.... btw what software do u use, FCPX?

Incredible strength of that woman, and how difficult it was for you zack, I really regret the separation, I guess it was too much absence of your part for her added to that of her brother ..
Usually I am not the kind of guy crying two often... actually not at all cause I was raised in a different way but that video made me. You are a great guy and I really wish you all the best for your future and hope that you can always continue doing what you love doing and have success with it. Good luck for you, man!
I finally had time to sit and knit and watch this (I love that Jami is a knitter too :) Wow, you guys have a beautiful relationship and outlook on everything in life. What an inspiration. Knowing all of this backstory truly makes watching you win all the more special. Thanks for sharing!!!!
Jami you are a beautiful mom and wife. I watched your story and time flew by. Thank you for sharing your emotional experience and my heart felt what you went through. Zak is obviously so proud of you and the girls as you him. Yes Zak, this is a true love story and a testament to humanity. Jami's statement of the 100 mile stare never hit me until she said it. It's amazing how the mind changes to cope with such hardships. Thank you again Jami, you too are awesome!
Sorry to hear about your brother Jami, I got to say that the mental stress of not knowing how each other were doing must have been extreme, I applaud the mental fortitude of you both, my wife watched this with me and really teared up when she saw your reunion clip, thanks for sharing, Jami should get $500,000 too! Take care guys.
Wow, Zach this is awesome. Sorry things went wrong for You and Jami. This touches my heart. I am watching and have watched nearly all of your videos. I'm appropriative of your duty to your children. I thoroughly enjoyed 30 day challenge. You keep it real and this is good . I once enjoyed the outdoors like you but because of health problems I can't do things like i once did. Keep up the good work.
This was such an enjoyable video and well deserved appreciation & recognition of a spouse of any survival show on tv yet. I think Jami is and was such a trooper to come through all Jami has come though that many have not or will ever experience. I wish there was more real life experiences filmed like this for families to live and learn from on television. There certainly is far greater educational UA-cam video's on UA-cam then there is on television. This video is one of them. I think one day soon that television is going to go the way side. UA-cam has certainly taken over television. Jami is truly a natural down to earth beauty inside and outside. You two certainly are a match made in heaven. Both of you are such down to earth people that can teach people the value of a dollar and to believe in waste not want not. Everyone has their time of losses of loved ones and bad luck in our journey on living life's lessons on earth. You two happen to have your share during filming of a show Zack happen to be doing at the time. I know how hard it must have been for Jami to do it all alone with nobody at home to share the grief with. I've been there. I think this would make a fantastic wholesome down to earth great family movie for television. One for children to learn from. Jami great job on playing the ukulele and you have a lovely voice in your song for your sweetheart of a husband. If I was to have had two more children then the two I already have. I could only wish for two more like you two to add to my lovely family. My daughter being 42 and my son 40 gave me 6 grandchildren 2 girls and a boy each. I am blessed. Thanks for sharing this lovely video. My son's name is Jamie which is a girl or boy's name.
When you two hugged tears started flowing. It's so apparent that you two had so much love for one another. As heart breaking as it is that you went your separate ways..I love that you are putting your children first. That sort of love never dies. ❤❤
I am watching this for the first time totally agree. the love you have for each other here it's so hot warming I'm amazed it didn't work out I suppose you must have had your reasons😢
You made my wife and I cry as we watched it. It didn't feel like 41 minutes. I appreciate your willingness to share! Thanks! If you're in Denver again, let me know! It was fun to see you at the self reliance expo.
What a Beautiful strong wife you have, that went thru so much while you were gone for 87 days! It was Beautiful seeing you two together while finishing filming alone. God Bless you both and your children, so sorry for the loss of Jami's brother!
Me and my son son would love to help you at your farm we love animals we don't have much money but we like to camp out in the great outdoors and family is very important I am so sorry for your loss I know how you felt at this time hope you know he will be in heaven waiting for you have a bless week
Only made it to 6:10. I will finish this video later, but too many bad things are going on. Seen enough though to see y'all are special people.I pray that $ is never an issue again in your lives! Luv y'all, and a little info I've always lived by; you'll never appreciate heaven, unless you experience hell.
The way that you two have to look at each other, awwww man, it's heart melting. Jami is so strong to been able to go over all of that alone with the kids while you were surviving in Pantagonia. You have a great family. Wish you all the best for the future in your new house! Long live!
Just subcribed to your channel. Man it must of been hard for you not to quit after hearing that news. Very sorry for your families loss. So happy that after all of it you managed the win. Bitter sweet but meant to be. Great channel and cheers from up the coast. Cape Beton, Nova Scotia.
It’s such a shame these two split up. I just don’t understand or can’t even fathom why this loving couple would possibly want to split. I really hope and wish they can get back together cuz they truly do seem like they love each other
Hey man just starting watching your channel. Really great stuff. Super identifiable. Also, not only did I not know about "Alone" the show (had to research it since you reference it often) but if I had known you were looking for a hand on the farm I would have ABSOLUTELY done that. But in conclusion keep all these vids coming they're awesome and enlightening. AND if you need another stand-in assistant ever, I'm watching your vids now and will answer the call. Thanks again!
What a journey, guys. A life defining episode in your lives. I had a very similar loss of my brother on Christmas eve some years ago. Thanks for sharing this. Now on to buy more Kleenex... ~D.S.

Usually I am not the kind of guy crying two often... actually not at all cause I was raised in a different way but that video made me. You are a great guy and I really wish you all the best for your future and hope that you can always continue doing what you love doing and have success with it. Good luck for you, man!
Wow I don't think I know anybody that loves each other more you guys let each other fulfill your dreams and help each other through hard ships
I finally had time to sit and knit and watch this (I love that Jami is a knitter too :) Wow, you guys have a beautiful relationship and outlook on everything in life. What an inspiration. Knowing all of this backstory truly makes watching you win all the more special. Thanks for sharing!!!!
Thanks For watching
This is a wonderful video.
Thank you and thanks for watching.
Right I did By her a Mansion Look back to my older videos And you can see it "goodbye off grid yurt we Bought a mansion" ;)
Love this!! Thank you for making this video 😊💜Blessings to your family!
Thank you and thanks for watching
This is incredibly inspiring.
thank you for watching
Yes indeed Jami is an amazing woman Thank God everyday He put her in my life.
Wow god bless you and your family, beautiful souls, great story,
When you two hugged tears started flowing.
You guys are such an amazing couple! Really though, you two have the strongest bond! I love you two!
She left him, so; not really!
These comments are brutal in hindsight....

I love you guys! It's so reassuring to see two amazing people join forces to do some good in the world. Thanks for sharing
You are beautiful and blessed! Much love!!!!
Moved by your humility and with memories of similar heart pain that comes to many military families. Oh, that hurts. Especially before cell phones.
You made my wife and I
cry as we watched it.
It didn't feel like 41 minutes.
I appreciate your
willingness to share!
Thanks! If you're in Denver again, let me know! It was fun to see you at the self reliance expo.
Thank You !!!
That Children's museum in Everett is the best!!! My kids played there all day for several days. The rooftop playground is another 3 floors.
What a Beautiful strong wife you have, that went thru so much while you were gone for 87 days! It was Beautiful seeing you two together while finishing filming alone. God Bless you both and your children, so sorry for the loss of Jami's brother!
You know she dumped him in a year?
@@johnvanegmond1812 wonder what happened?
Fowler. I think its wonderful that you found such a wonderful woman as Jami who you obviously adore also.

Great video. I've been curious about the other side of surviving 'Alone'. great perspective. Thank you both for sharing.
You're welcome thanks for watching
Only made it to 6:10. I will finish this video later, but too many bad things are going on. Seen enough though to see y'all are special people.I pray that $ is never an issue again in your lives! Luv y'all, and a little info I've always lived by; you'll never appreciate heaven, unless you experience hell.
That's a great song too. There's a lot of love in something like that.
Yes
Love that children's museum!
Used to live just down the road.
You two are amazing and I can’t imagine how difficult of a decision that it was for you both.
This was really great. Jamie your amazingly beautiful and you inspire me. Dude your blessed. 🌼 🌸🌼
Thank You
It’s such a shame these two split up. I just don’t understand or can’t even fathom why this loving couple would possibly want to split. I really hope and wish they can get back together cuz they truly do seem like they love each other
Shaun Bang lol...like he had a choice
Good people. God bless you both and your girls. Beautiful family.
~D.S.
Sorry to hear that. Thank you
If I had came across your channel before then I would have volunteered in a heartbeat, It would have been an adventure to remember! I am enjoying your content and have just subscribed.

This is one of the best videos on your channel. It tells so much about what really happens and it explains a lot about why you won.
Such a cool story and life experience
