If you make the most traction powered bike (lakui, jr or koopa+ Yoshi bike/comet +ancient wheels + super glider waddle wing or hylian kite) your turns are so sharp you’ll pass people just from turning
I've tried time and time again to get used to the inward bikes, but I think my biggest gripe with them is how awkward they feel to drift with and the camera. They start with a straight/outward line before actually going in, which feels awful. Sure, you could start your drifts earlier, but things feel less in your control than outward bikes/karts/ATVs
Hey Gecko, you seem to be playing in rooms with people that have much lower ratings than you. Is that intentional or just the online matchmaker being weird?
It's matchmaking being weird. I have 26k VR and this game sometimes puts me in 10-19k VR lobbies multiple times in a row no matter how often I leave after one race. Pretty infuriating since getting Mario Karte'd once robs you of -30 points then.
Idk why but I get the feeling that traction also helps with inward bikes hence why I use Monster tires when I use them. Also I feel like one way to buff the inward bikes to compensate the no alignment hopping is to make inward bike have faster mini turbo build up when drifting than the other vehicles.
Been rocking Comet King boo Red Roller. I enjoy it too much. I feel like I can lean out away from bananas ect. Then lean back into my line. Drawback is the view coming out of a turn is less. Track memory fixes this but people leave their trash on the track. (Banana peels!)
So yesterday I was at my friends house, he had Mario kart, I played Mario kart (for the entire time) I didn’t understand the hate towards inward bikes (since I haven’t played mk8d ever until yesterday) so I played the comet and OH MY GOD INWARD DRIFT IS HORRIBLE

By the way, you no longer have to look behind you to see if the red shell is coming to you. It'll only show the indicators now if it's targeting you.
habit, timing, checking items on other players. one could argue if you know the track there's no real reason to look forward
That doesn't work. It'll still show the red shell indicator even if its not after you

@@Asch_Ente that I agree with, I now just trust red shell indicators fully but still check out of habit (or timing if I have a Bob-omb)
