    I really need to invest in one of these & purchase the e/o seperator as well

      Yes, it has eo but very low content. It is not enough to be separated by separator but you will see the oil floating in the hydrosol.

    Great video. Really helpfull! 👌 I was wondering do you using tapwater or distilled water?

      *for boiling the centella?

    • @LeTimeLeo
      @LeTimeLeo  4 роки тому

      The downside of using tap water is its chlorine disinfectant which is volatile and may add go into your distillate. Distilled water or filtered water is highly recommended.

    This looks really great. Centella is fairly abundant where I live but I haven't seen any dried versions of it here yet. Would powder work for this?

    • @LeTimeLeo
      @LeTimeLeo  4 роки тому +2

      You may use fresh leaves. Difference with dried is more moisture content in fresh ones so you expect to receive less amount of hydrosol. Powder is fine but need a cloth bag and closed to put into steamer before distillation. I have another video explaining difference between using dried and fresh plant material for distillation.

    Hello! Your video is really interesting. I want to make centella hydrosol at home but I don't have that equipment. I plan to extract the centella by infusing it in oil for skin purposes. I know that infusing it in oil only dissolve the oil-soluble parts of centella. what do you think about that? Which one may benefit the most, the hydrosol (which contain mostly of the water-soluble parts of centella) or the oil infused centella? Or maybe i should do glycerin or glycerin+oil mixture base infusing for better result?

    • @LeTimeLeo
      @LeTimeLeo  2 роки тому +1

      Hi, I like your questions! Oil, glycerin and ethanol are popular solvents can be used to extract, but they have different efficiency. Ethanol has better efficiency but it can cause dry skin. Oil is better than glycerin. One way is use a bit of ethanol before using oil or glycerin. Then slowly heat up to vaporize ethanol so as to help make better extract.
      Hydrosol contains volatile compounds like essential oil. Because they are small molecules they have good penetration on skin.

    Why not to take it raw or dried? Or it required for telomere lenghtening?

    • @LeTimeLeo
      @LeTimeLeo  4 роки тому +1

      Both raw and dried will work for steam or hydro distillation. The difference is raw has inter or intra cellular water but dried has much less moisture content. Dried herb can make higher concentrated hydrosol compared with raw one.

    Can I use fresh gotukola leaves?

    • @LeTimeLeo
      @LeTimeLeo  3 роки тому

      Yes! The only difference is hydrosol from dry leaves will be more concentrated than that from fresh leaves due to their less moisture.
