I am currently a lieutenant in a large metropolitan police department and I created this video to share with y’all what your agency probably won’t be issuing you out of the academy, but will be helpful for you to have in your policing journeys.

I agree on a link for flashlights that you would recommend, I always carry 2. Second, what about a duty folder style knife and/or multi tool?
Great! I think I might make a flashlight video...there are so many options and they have improved so much since I began policing. Or maybe the marketing has? And yes, totally forgot about the knife! 💙 Thanks for bringing these up!

It seems like a good idea to learn as much as possible before starting the academy, can you make a video on how to how to properly handcuff someone? I haven't found any good videos on UA-cam that demonstrate that!
Unfortunately that is a defensive tactics lesson and I am not a defensive tactics instructor. They would be most qualified to teach and explain that but it is easy to pick up on when you begin the academy! 💙
Can you share the academic side of the academy? Like what goes on in the classroom and the tests, also what should we look into studying before going in? Or even topics that may need a refresher like will there be math? Lol and some tips on how to study once going through it. thanks!!!

We have external carrier vests for high risk situations. They are insanely heavy and thick

It depends on what they’ve issued you already…I liked the extra things from this list but it depends on what they already give you. Some agencies spare no expense and some like mine, give you nothing 😩💙
