What YouTubers Hide From You ("How To Be Confident")

  • This is a video comprised entirely of the footage that I cut out of my How To Be Confident Video! However, I also cut out a bunch of extended pauses, so just imagine about 20 minutes worth of that distributed in there. :P This is super awkward to watch, but it gives you an idea of how not-effortless this is, how many times I have to start over or think for a bit before I know what I want to say, how I go completely straight-faced when I'm thinking, etc.

This should go viral. People need to see how vulnerable every person truly is. Social media has enabled us to hide our insecurities, but we lose how common all our experiences are.

I was very prepared to just close this tab of me cringing too much watching weird outtakes, but this weren't awkward at all. I don't know how much you rehearse before you film, Brizzy, but I just saw these clips as a live rehearsal and an actor directing herself. Many of the repeated sentences seems to be just different ways of saying the same things, focusing getting the tone of voice and rythm right. Seeing as you're a voice-actor it doesn't surprise me you put alot of effort making every statement sound exactly the way you want it. The finished video on your main channel is basically a speech and all speeches need to be rehearsed to come off the way the speaker wants it to, this just shows how much time and thought goes into that. As the main video is both entertaining and informative, I think you did a great job of finding your way to say it.
The length of this video is also small proof of that you also have to be an editor, as well as an actor and director.

It just dawned on my why so many UA-camrs talk about running out of battery charge and I should have known this.
Real time is meaningless on a video project, minutes can take hours.

This is probably one of the coolest UA-cam videos I've watched. It shows how much work goes into filming a video, and that even when you have a 1.5m+ subscribers, you still redo takes and fix your hair and have awkward pauses. Thank you Brizzy for being vulnerable enough to show your viewers this side of being a UA-camr. It's inspiring and reassuring to us small, aspiring creators.

I love you Brizzy! I could not keep the smirk from my face throughout this whole video. Internally this is how my brain works non stop, I go through different scenarios on whut I'm going to say, how I'm going to say it, and whut others are going to think about it constantly! I also have that same hair/face touching anxiety tick that you do that my mom has to point it out or slap my hand away sometimes while I'm talking to her hahaha! Thank you for doing such a video as this with all the cutting floor edits, more UA-camrs should do stuff like this because it really shows the real them and I am so deeply in love with the real you, you rock!!
    Loves you a bunch! ❤

I didn't even know about this channel until today, and I want to say that this is great. It's not about watching you flubb up or sit in "cringe" like silence. But it's about watching you work and create art piece seeing the motions of a brush stroke is just as interesting as seeing the painting at the end. I was wondering if you would be willing to put up more videos like this in the futures?

This video is so incredible. Thank you so much. This actually gives me confidence knowing how much goes into each video and that people aren't automatically perfect. Hey Brizzy! Thank you so much for posting this, it lets a lot of people know that its okay when we make mistakes and that everyone makes them, most of the time, they aren't even a big deal!
I know saying, or in your case, posting videos of mistakes can make people feel like they aren't good enough, or make them feel vulnerable, but everyone is human, and every one needs to know that. Because I look up to you so much, this sort of reassures me that its perfectly fine to mess up, and that those mishaps can influence and help other people more than I think. I love you so much, thanks again!

Thank you for posting this. I'm glad to know that a more seasoned UA-camr such as yourself does this as well. I seriously have like 5 takes per jump cut. You talk to yourself a lot less than I expected. Like, when I mess up when I'm recording something I have a tendency to say it out loud and acknowledge it, or even just make noises to fill the silence. It's really fascinating to see what those moments are like for other people, those little gaps of solitude where no one is watching.

I didn't see any problem with MANY of these retakes :P Many of them just has a different emphasis or more distinctive emotion behind it :) (and I understand the reason)
For your audience's sake I think it'd be perfectly fine without many of the tweeks but the most important part is still that you're proud of what you've done and you do that so BIG props to you!
But omg, I would SO not have the patience to make videos as perfect as you do XD
And aslo, I wouldn't be able to look that happy after SOOO many retakes ;P

So glad I watched this. Whenever I try filming a vlog I have so much of this. Lately when I've been TRYING to get back to filming, my anxiety will stop and remind me about this. Glad to see that it really is a "we'll fix it in post" sort of thing.

This is me when I'm doing voice-over work for videos I've done, but with loads more weird sounds when I mess up and start over. I can easily relate to everything here, and although it's awkward to watch, that's what makes it genuine. Then there's moments like 6:24, 7:59, 10:03, 11:17, 11:30, 11:55, and 16:42 that make it all the better haha. Keep on being awesome, Anna.

Pure courage. AND you didn't swear constantly (or at least cut it out). Thanks, Brizzy.

This makes me so happy! Nice to know I'm not the only one constantly repeating what I say and fixing my hair when I film videos lol

This was refreshing to see. This is me when practicing for a speech or when someone's trying to interview me haha, I feel it on a spiritual level. Like said many times before me youtubers are people too.

Brizzy is one of those people that you could just sit and talk/listen to all day. Didn't even realize this video was 17 minutes, I just sat looking at her with a smile on my face like a doofus until it was over lol.

I love that you had the nerve to show the Internet that youtubers are still normal, like other people. Editing is just a thing that helps :)
