Drum Only Audio Version of COOP3R COV3RS live cover / jam of Skrillex First Of The Year. We tried to keep a lot of parts similar to Skrillex's original song, while adding our own jam and feel to it.
All of the audio was recorded live in one run, and 3 camera angles were recorded live. To further your viewing pleasure, we then recorded the 3 GoPro Hero 2 angles including the Guitar & Bass Headstock views and the Head Mounted drummer cam as well as some extra footage to show everything that was going on. All of COOP3R COV3RS are recorded by Casey Cooper into a Logic Pro using a Presonus Firestudio Tube a 15" Macbook Pro i7 with 4gbs of RAM.
We used a Sennheiser 421 on the guitar cab, and ran direct out of the bass head (XLR). The drums used 8 mics, Shure Sm57s on the snare and 16" floor tom, Shure PG56s on the 3 rack toms, Shure PG81s as the overheads, and an AKG D112 on the kick.
No post-production effects were used on the Guitar besides some slight volume automation. All of the tones were created naturally using Laney Amplification. The bass guitar was recorded directly out of the head, there were some EQ adjustments and some compression and volume automation was added to his tracks. Drums were left as natural as possible with only the addition of compression on the bass and snare.
All Camera and Video Work is recorded by Zach Sturino in 1080p HD with Canon T2i's, Canon T3i's, GoPro Hd Hero 1&2 & Iphone 4s & Iphone 4 models. Video Editing is done in Final Cut Pro. You can check out Zach's other work here: www.vimeo.com/z... / zachirino21 @zachirino
