Chios is a great island, full of history! the 2nd largest Greek island is Evia, the island to which I will retire to next year!! Happy to see you in my home country! looking forward to more vids!!
The Peloponnese or Epirus regions are wonderful this time of year. Head over there. Greece isn't just islands, it's also the peninsula (82% of the country) 😊
Great video. Happy to watch your videos again in 🇬🇷 (sorry, Turkey isnt on our list). We loved travelling around the Island of Creet. We plan to visit Greece, and the Greek Islands again soon, for the sights, people, and the Greek Food.
Lucky you,Greece is so beautiful and i do think everyone should be lucky enough to visit once in a life time.Luckily,we can share the beauty of greece through your lenses,Cheers Greetings from Zurich
Great video you guys, showing all the beauties of the less known greek island of Chios. I am planning to visit next year! I think you will also have a great time in Samos,I have been there three times and it is also very beautiful, quite different from Chios though! Have fun always!
Hi guys! I have never heard of Chios before, it looks really pretty and seems like there is quite a bit to do and see there as well. The weather looks gorgeous there
Loving the fact that you're promoting the lesser-know islands that have SO much to offer and not just the overly advertised Cyclades! I'm curious how you'll compare Samos with Chios, they're very different, Samos being so green, almost like Corfu!
This place is exactly what I want in a vacation. Relaxed atmosphere, gorgeous water, interesting culture, great food. I prefer smaller less touristy towns. Perfect place!
I have been to pyrgi mesta and olimpoi. Out of the 3 matica villages olimpoi is the one tours pass over. I really liked olimpoi and its walls. If you travel independently, go to it.
Corfu is where I usually go being there seven times. I love it. Chios looks like a nice destination as well. Santorini and Myknos are overcrowded and expensive
Usually chicken gyros is served with a pink sauce (a mix of mustard and mayo) and or mustard. Tzatziki is for pork and you have to ask for it to have instead tzatziki if you want.
@@DelightfulTravellers i think that there's some ketchup too in it. I never liked it in a souvlaki no matter the meat choice...Now on fries tho it's very tasty 🤤
Thank you for visiting our beautiful island. Next time stay longer, you need at least 2 weeks to see Chios. Chios is very different from the rest of the Greek islands. The north is absolutely different from the south and the east is absolutely different from the west. You see a difference landscape on each side and each side has it's own different beauty... The locals have a saying, "There's the Greek islands, and then there's Chios" and it's absolutely true!
Unfortunately most people that live here don't appreciate it until they move abroad. It is truly a blessing and everyday experiencing the things that other people pay thousands of dollars to come see and experience for one or two weeks... The name of the village is Pyrgi. It is located on the south side of the island and not too far from it, there is a fortified village in the castle called Mesta which is also another beautiful village to visit.
Hey fellow Canadians! Love this video! Excited to see you international again. We think that we are going to hit up Greece in April 2025. But WHICH ISLAND?!! Obviously Santorini, Mykonos, Corfu and Crete are popular choices, but since you have travelled to so many islands, we wanted your thoughts and advice! We will want to stay in one place for a month - but be able to take a day trip or two from that home base. We love walkability - especially along a beach promenade, but we aren't afraid of hills (especially up to epic views or to our Airbnb.) If you can offer any recommendations it would be greatly appreciated! Cheers!! 🥂🇨🇦 🇬🇷
Our go to ... and likely our favourite is Naxos. It has the blue and white buildings, incredible beaches, a vibrant main town and so much to see in the mountains. It's also close to other islands so you can easily do day trips to Mykonos or Paros for example - Trevor
This looks lovely, thank you! Curious about costs of food and drink. Saw the cost for the lemonade, what about that coffee and the gyros? Going now to look at accommodations costs!
Don’t lie neighbour,4000 years, all Aegean islands are Greek homeland, never in the history,in any Greek island ,had more invader Muslim Ottomans than Greeks.Even now,in Türkiye, there is only 8% of the population,is Turkish origin, according to your genetic scientists.
I don’t say skip any cruise port Santorini over hyped is what I say I love Greece especially Athens If so did not see stunning photos here would not expect much Would not go out of way to go back Had better time Athens and lot to see yet Also Turkey was fantastic
The best islands in Greece are the ones that have no international airport but just a domestic one or no airport at all. There are a few exceptions like Lesvos and Samos. 90% or more of experienced Greece travellers don't go to Mykonos or Santorini. Some just use those as an arrival and/or departure spot.
This island is literally besides Turkey, and it had a Turkish majority population before 1912. It should've stayed Turkish! You can literally sim to there from mainland, Turkey! 🐺🇹🇷
Turkey is beside Greece, France is beside Germany, Italy is beside Austria, the USA is beside Canada, and Bulgaria is beside Romania. What's the matter with you? BTW, my ancestors, Greeks from Chios, were forcedly moved to central Anatolia by the Ottoman authorities a few years before the Greco Turkish War. Majorities are fixed.
No, it never had a Turkish majority. Aside from Ancient Greek ruins, and the fact that the Greek people long predate the Ottoman occupation...there's 18th/19th century churches all over the island, with typical church architecture. If the illegal Ottoman occupation ever produced a Turkish majority, then there would be some evidence of mosques all over the island. We would also know from Ottoman and Genoese sources. And actually, the Aegean coast of Turkey had a Greek majority until 1923. Also, countries have neighbors. Using you logic, Izmir and Ayvalık are literally right next to Greece; they should be Greek. You guys troll every video on UA-cam about Greece. You're embarrassing yourselves.
Chios should have stayed Turkish(???!!) ...and so Istanbul-(Constantinople) and Izmir should have stayed GREEK since the majority of these places had been GREEK for centuries before the Turks came!! Also may I remind you the Chios massacre in 1822 when thousands of innocent Greek people were killed by the savage Ottoman Empire when they tried to rebel against the Ottoman Turks -and all the atrocities the Turks made on the island??

Good work .I personally think October is the best season to travel Greek islands. Less tourists still good weather and very beautiful
Mid September is a better and safer choice , except Myconos , Santorini , Rhodes .
and warm water!

We've been to Corfu and even that seems crowded compared to Chios. It's very low key👌- Trevor
I went to Naxos last year after seeing your older videos. Loved it. I thought you had a group trip planned, is that still happening?
Naxos is the best! A couple folks backed out of the the Group Trip so it sadly didn’t work out - Anna
Yes you are correct sir
Usually chicken gyros is served with a pink sauce (a mix of mustard and mayo) and or mustard. Tzatziki is for pork and you have to ask for it to have instead tzatziki if you want.
Good to know but not sure how yellow mustard and white mayo make pink 😉
