For what it’s worth the Astral Knights punting their barge through the world engine shields makes some sense - in one of the twice dead king books it’s mentioned that necron shields are designed to stop war in heaven-era super weapons, not projectiles. When they were designed projectile munitions were obsolete, so the shields don’t account for them. It’s kind of like wearing a (soft) Kevlar vest in a sword fight - the vest can stop a handgun round, but the fabric will be cut by a blade.

I'm Romanian and this reminds me of the Merry Cemetery in Săpânța. Every tombstone is painted in bright colours and has a humorous poem about the person's life.
The reason why the Techmarines were in awe of the Necrons, is probably because every Techmarine is a fully inducted Techpriest as part of their training. It's believed that the reason the Mechanicus exists at all is because of the C'tan shard of the Void Dragon that big E sealed on Mars. They may have been having a religious experience or alternatively a crisis of faith, at seeing something so close to their ideals, or alternatively by seeing their ideals twisted so much. Depending on how radical or conservative they were about xenos tech. Because Xenarites do exist, and they often go nuts over Necron tech. Could also just be that the noosphere was being clogged with junk data and scrap code, shutting down their augmentations. Something Necrons do pretty commonly to combat Techpriests.
Could also just be the classic trap of "Oops, we accidentally left these servers containing all our technical data unlocked. I sure hope some overly inquisitive sort doesn't connect up to them and download everything on there without checking it's contents first." When most worlds are Imperium owned or otherwise xenos backwaters, you're probably pretty confident as a techmarine that nothing is going to slip through your virus block when you open up a door or something.
The Devastion of Baal would be a great and fitting topic. Finally, there are new models for the Blood Angels and people want to know why all the Sanguine Guard with wings died! + The Imperials Fists have already been reduced to 1 Marine once. That was funny.
The new Sanguine Guard models look like they kitbashed Jump Pack Assault Intercessors with Stormcast Eternals. Feels like GW got really lazy with the Blood Angels this year. Hope that other chapters dont get the same treatment.
Didn't that last imperial fists then died after the Last Wall Protocol brought all the successors back? I don't think the dude made it to the of the war with the beast.
The Imperial Fists have been reduced to 0 marines before, more like. Oddly enough, this was during the only conflict (since the HH) in which they worked together with Iron Warriors… Coincidence?
The reason the crimson fists are at all popular is because of that line. A space marine had his arm cut off and he wants to get back into the fight but his boss is like "Bro, you cant fight, you just lost an arm" and he's like "I haven't lost my arm! it's right over there!"

The Scar Lords part is even funnier than they explain here. They're the main antagonists in the first Farsight book, and after a bunch of brutal fighting back and forth the Scar Lords chapter master gives the order to load a syclonic torpedo and fire it at the Farsight enclave planet. Farsight himself flew his coldstar battlesuit up to their ship, turned it off and drifted through their voidshields before rebooting and then FLYING INTO THE SHIP THROUGH THE OPEN CANNON BARREL they were loading the torpedo into, shooting all the crew in the loading bay and then planting a bomb on the torpedo. "Lmao" and then the Scar Lords battle barge with their entire chapter on board exploded from the exterminatus payload detonating on board. no climactic final showdown with the chapter master, no nothing, just kaboom. Farsight is just too based for all that.
Hate to be that guy, but not quite. Farsight did actually board them that way as they were first attacked by the scar lords, damaging their gellar field in the process. A note about the Astral Knights and the World Engine: it's revealed in the World Engine book that the fact that the Chapter Master and his survivors heroically destroyed the core of the World Engine with their Melta Charge is a big fat lie. What truly happened wat that they found the core of the World Engine was a Transcendant Shard of the C'tan named the World Shaper, who was both a prisonner of and the one powering the World Engine. Its gotta be really tough to go through all of the insane trials, training and augmentation to become a space marine just to find out that you are in fact not HIM but instead joined a chapter of nameless chumps who's sole purpose is to get dunked on by the Alpha Legion.
Honeslty people complain that the Ultramarines never lose Buts its the same issue with the Alpha legion, they just always win. As a raven guard fan, it annoys me Everytime a book mentions the Alpha legion I just turn off, because the plot becomes so predictable
It's kinda crazy how many Imperial Fists successor chapters they talked about in this video and yet they didn't mention that the actual OG Imperial Fists chapter is also extinct lol, they all died during the war of the beast, they had to re-start the chapter from scratch using geneseed donated by their successor chapters because not only were all their marines and scouts killed, but none of their geneseed was able to be recovered.
The Fist Exemplar, Black Templar and Iron Warriors team up makes a lot more sense if you know that it was shortly after the Heresy. Which meant that there were a lot of pre-Heresy Marines around that still personally knew IW they had previously fought along side. The Exemplar's disbandment also makes sense if you know what Dorn wanted them to represent and the circumstances around Chapter Master Thane. Since Thane was Lord Command in addition to Chapter Master of the Exemplars AND the Imperial Fists, when the First Captain went rogue, it was basically the acting leader of the Chapter going rogue. So he took that kind of personally ...

In a codex for the Officio Assassinorum it’s heavily implied that they were involved in the destruction of the Crimson Fist Monastery on the orders of the Inquisition. Why is unknown but people believe it was because the Inquisition had effectively used the fists to wipe out 2 chapters and were tying up loose ends.

I thought it was perfect when I found out about them. Wasn't the best paint job in the world, but I could have done worse on a first go.
ON the subject of the crimson fist's, it's all gervas Jhontons's fault. He deployed the entire chapter in a game of epic, and when performing a drop pod assault he droped a line of markers onto a support squaron on deathstikes that detonated and desrtroyed the fortifercation they where next to, killing the chapter commander and his staff. The rest of the game whent to poo, and the only remaing stands was 2 stands of scouts + some guard.
Small aside about the Crimson Fists: They are the actual OG Warhammer Marines, that last stand picture was the cover for the very first Rogue Trader book.
So, what you're telling me is that the Crimson Fists homeworld is populated by Millennials and Gen Z (plus their overprotective parents)? That makes sense lol.

Its gotta be really tough to go through all of the insane trials, training and augmentation to become a space marine just to find out that you are in fact not HIM but instead joined a chapter of nameless chumps who's sole purpose is to get dunked on by the Alpha Legion.
I wonder if those guys got killed or at least got yo join some chaos warband.
Honeslty people complain that the Ultramarines never lose
Buts its the same issue with the Alpha legion, they just always win. As a raven guard fan, it annoys me
Everytime a book mentions the Alpha legion I just turn off, because the plot becomes so predictable
You should do an episode on space marine chapters with almost no lore and what you can speculate on them.
Man, really lucky for those orks that the crimson fist armory had no shielding whatsoever. Real.. deathstar levels of engineering there.
Well oddly enough the incident was mentioned in another codex… for the officio assassinorum.

11:58 I cant believe Shy put "The missile knows where it is" copypasta into the part about the Crimson Fists.
Before even watching the video, the thumbnail is poggers.
Astral knights mentioned and deceased, Sable Swords W
50:00 Personally, I could see the Black Templars going ":okay, we'll focus our fire on the orks and let the traitors wear themselves out against the horde, then when that's done, we swoop in and wipe them out." Basically, they're not heling the Iron Warriors, but they're not attacking them either. Not yet, anyway.
Implies the templars have enough trigger discipline to not randomly take potshots at the iron warriors as a joke
@@locomotivevoice i mean, im sure they would.
Spoiler warning fir devastation of baal
Of the approximate 29,000 space marines of blood angels lineage:
8 chapters were wiped out entirely, 12 chapter masters killed and (depending om account) 300-3000 space marines survived.....
In exchange for this they wiped out the (at this point) largest tyranid fleet seen to date
Not the whole fleet but a big chunk of it
@@scorpiontdalpha9799That's still a feat in itself, don't you think?
@@foolslayer9416 yeah but I am just making sure people know Leviathan is not dead yet

A “it was me Austin… It was me all along” nod…
Incredible.
Rynn's World was what got me into 40K NGL, saw the book on a library shelf and ever since I've been hooked
Ryn's world, good book. Gives a good look at how imperial fists think and act
The Custodes see the Astartes as crude savages, breed only for War. Which seems to be partly true if you see how often they run boldly into traps. And afterwards they are even proud of it. 😆
Nah, the Alpha Legion 100% had something to do with the Crimson Fist's rocket "malfunction." Prove me wrong, and Hydra Dominatus

"And then he came back. And there were five others. The War of the Beast was weird." -Rogal "Adornable" Dorn
The bleep? How did you manage to get through the whole episode without even mentioning the Celestial Lions?
because they are not extinct?
@@Adeptusridiculous I mean… they’re more dead than the crimson fist.
Regarding the Obsidian Glaives. This is what happens when you have writers rooms and their is drama and the winners don't like the losers so they just write their additions out.
God i want a dedicated Minotaur episode
Greatest achievement of the Crimson Fists is being featured on the original James Workshop approved cover of BOLT THROWER's second album. (rogue trader rule book, what's that?)
Shout out to Shy for covering for Bricky while he fell down the k-hole
Yay! crimson consoles getting a call out. They were the first things I actually put paint to when I kitbashed a phobos kill team. I wanted to do Alpha legion somehow with loyalist models.
8:35 WOOOOOO MY BOIS GOT A PART IN THE VIDEO
So, what you're telling me is that the Crimson Fists homeworld is populated by Millennials and Gen Z (plus their overprotective parents)?
That makes sense lol.
Wait until you hear what made someone considered a "veteran" before Snagrod came down.
Scar lords was a funny one. Chapter master was initiating exterminatus when Farisight’s boy Oblotai went all Independence Day and fly right into the torpedo in the bay. Blowing up the ship, chapter master, and remaining scar lords.
I LOVE THE CRIMSON FISTS!!!!!
Shy's snark-o-meter got turned up to 11 on this script. Just non-stop dunking on the space marines and all things stoopid humie.
Will it be fair I think it was more the Imperial officials who ordered the Crimson fists we're like "lol trayer Kill Them All"
The Crimson fists for more like orders are orders but "are we the Baddies"
The Spehs Mareens are the unbending pokey stick of the Imperium, forever being used to stir up many xenos bee hives.
"Sir, our pokey sticks are breaking, perhaps we should pull back & re-assess"
*blammed for Heresy"
"Nonsense! I'll break as many pokey sticks as I need to beat this 1 enemy, then on to the next one!!"
A video on the nicest space marine chapters would be cool. But I think Shy would hate that episode.
DK actually does a pretty good Ork voice, he gets the grit down really well
Dark Paladin marines: brother please save us
Dark Paladin tech marines: ambatukam
They call it the Devastation of Baal because the Blood Angels got absolutely dunked on
Thought the last one was gonna be the Imperial Fists.
last time i was this early, cadia was still there!
Random goofy Nurgle marines loping round the corner haphazardly and finding ALLLL the Predators with THE biggest, most ridiculous smiles on their faces:
Grandfather Nurgle slimes down from high today! It's all coming up Poxhouse 😁😏
You know normally I'd be concerned about someone having a ketamine problem, but honestly it seems to be making Bricky a lot funnier.
That 2023 post slide made me realize how bizarre it is that you guys don't sell calendars.
To be honest crimson Fists kinda slap hard, 1 Chaptermaster Polox and Pedro Cantors defense of Rynsworld do be epic.
Shy? (Spelling ?)..Absolutely love her sense of humor. I would most definitely watch more of these types of episodes, in between the normal videos you guys normally do.

Quite enjoyed having a Shy-hosted episode. Always wondered what it would be like. Helps that I love episodes that include a ton of little stories for everyone to react to.
This was definitely an enlightening episode, mostly because I now know a lot more about shy’s sense of humor
I appreciate Shy’s description of events, even if she doesn’t read it out loud herself
"Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake." - Napoleon Bonaparte
Man, DK is really giving “Billy West as Phillip J. Fry” in this one.
Damn. When a BLACK TEMPLAR is the voice of reason...
I'm usually the type to skip right through sponsors but honestly that alpha legion bit was pretty good lmao
Bricky that isn't the alpha legion in my walls that you're hearing.
It's the alpha legion fighting the night Lords, apparently there's someone with a similar name that they both wanted and they've yet to ask me what mine is
13:32 Personally, I would have hunted the person who designed the defense so that one well place missile could destroy everything, because that some deathstar level design flaws
No Soul Drinkers mentioned, sad times
I fucking love the Alpha Legion. Their shenanigans will never get old.
"Then the Orks did a drive-by" is one of the funniest things I've ever heard.
