A countryside couple from eastern China’s Zhejiang province has gone viral online for their ‘rural-style shuffle dance’. They created the dance to help the husband recover from depression following a severe car accident.

Also I think dancing gave this man confidence, confidence for him to overcome depression, not a distraction. You can't merely recover from depression by dancing. This man must have learnt something and must have changed for the better.

He is very lucky to have found someone that didn’t push him and his depression away and instead wanted to stay by him and help him. Not many people have someone like that, and are suffering alone

condorX2 tf, yeah dancing wouldve solved all his problems. Everyone isnt the same, Robin had serious depression and mental issues, he wasnt in a car crash and was sad from recovering. The only real way to help those people is to reach out before it’s too late but sometimes its too late.

A lot of people don’t make a living exercising but they do it for their health and well-being, which keeps down cost from medical bills. These people dance as their daily exercise - in this sense, it does help with bills by keeping them healthy.

During my psych rotation in med school I once brought my guitar to the unit. There was a young man, diagnosed with schizophrenia, who had told me he played, so I offered him the guitar. He played quite well, and while he was playing he appeared and acted totally normally. Unfortunately, the hospital did not offer music therapy. Music has power for many things.
A shame, feel like this is a reflective on the money being reduced from arts in general. Like in our education system.

I appreciate its your opinion, but as someone's who's had two bouts of cljnical depression i can tell you NO ONE 'chooses' to be depressed. It's a terrible mental illness that no one CHOOSES. Perhaps learn a little more about mental bealth issues and how easy it is to be afflicted be fore suggesting we CHOSE to be so depressed that ending our lives seemed a viable option and, sadly, ends up being tbe road taken for some sufferers. I was suicidal and self harmed for 6 years, using my fingernails after my family hid anything sharp. Trust me when I say, I did not 'choose' to be like that. I am VERY happy this man fou d hia own appropriate coping mechanism. I, too, eventually found one. But my reality is, if I do not sfay hyper vigilent for the early warning signs, i could suffer a relapse. I havd no doubt that is why he dances every day, no matter what. Oh and mental health illness is NOT the flu and is NOT contagious - PLEASE educate yourself.
@@troublemcallister730 WOW!!! First of all I too have depression and take medication for it daily. Started therapy at age 8. I'm 38 and it's still there always trying to linger around. My point in the post is the negativity is contagious. So therefore don't surround yourself with negative people because that will feed depression. Positivity on the other hand can help it. I never said you "CHOSE" depression. That's ridiculous! I'm saying to choose who you let around you, if you try to surround yourself with positive people and things it will rub off on you. And I'm not uneducated I think you may misinterpreted what I was trying to say in my original post.
