Thanks! Yes! I'm getting to an age where I could injure myself trying to stop the bike from falling when it wants to. At least my mind is still quick enough to say to myself, "Just get out of the way and let it go down" rather than trying to stop it.
When i broke my clutch lever, i just ordered a set from Amazon. It folds up if i drop it again. I keep the new break lever in my tool bag. But boy stripping bolts and screws is what I'm good at.
Yes, but I used the technique where you stand with your back to the bike and lift the bike like standing from a squat. Perhaps you did too -I don't mean to assume you did it another way.
Thanks for watching and for the affirmation. Though I must say I've owned this bike for almost 10 years and 86,000 miles without a kickstand incident like this prior. I'm still inclined to look in the mirror for the cause of this one.
Great video. Always nice to see a new Urban Monk vid posted! Great to hear that there was no damage to any human parts👍👍

Thanks for watching! Perhaps I'll switch out both with aftermarket levers next time this happens.
I seem to damage my Vstrom all the time. From stripping the rear axel nut to stripping the cam cover bolt hole 😂
We're all imperfect humans. The key is to have fun and it sounds like you are. Thanks for watching!
@@UrbanMonkTV from a zero knowledge repairman on motorcycles to 75,000km, my bike has yet to see a shop thanks to videos like yours!
@@Max.527 That's awesome! Love hearing that.
@murraycharters6102 Thanks for watching. I appreciate you sharing your insights here. Hello from LA.
Hey Urban. Were you able to pick up the bike by yourself? I dropped mine and couldn't get it up by myself.

It’s not your fault, the kickstand is a terrible design I did exactly the same thing but in my yard, which broke my lever and scuffed my crash bars.
