The calathea that died that didn’t look like a peacock plant was actually a rare Calathea Helen Kennedy... such a shame it died as the actually sent you a specimen that’s hard to get hold off. I have one hence why I recognised it.

I have ordered from three Thai sellers. Only one is good. Fortunately I did not spend allot of money. I think that i will continue to find good sellers on-line. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing your update! The deceased "calathea makoyana" was actually what is called a peacock ginger or Kaempferia which does go dormant. Hopefully you checked the rhizome & it was mushy before you tossed it. 😝

I bought 2 plants from BoganaPotPlants and both had spider mites. The worst part was that they sent me a philodendron Red Emerald when I had purchased a Dark Lord! It looked nothing like the mother plant on their IG. But I'm so glad you were able to save some of your plants 🌿!

New subscriber here, hi from Poland! :) Love your plants, such a shame about the state of the second seller's shipment though. I also love your hair, and would love a video all about that :D

The video with the dragon scale was the first of your videos that I saw. I'm so glad something worked out of that one!

Thank you for the updates, they are helpful. My only Indonesian order I got in January was a monstera albo & florida beauty varigated. Both are still alive but have gone thru many a medium to get them to the right spot. The florida beauty did loose all of its leaves except for 1, the green one. It finally is pushing out a new leaf. I cant tell if it has any varigation on it & the original stem is questionable if its varigated or not. How do I tell?

Anna D I’m glad the video was helpful 😊 the more striping on the stem, the more variegation. If the stem has very obvious yellow stripping spread around the stem, you’ll hopefully have constant variegation. If it looks like the stem is solid green on one side and solid yellow on the other, the variegation will still continue but probably on every other leaf instead of every leaf. If you don’t see any yellow stripping, technically it could still occasionally push variegation but it’ll be rare if/when it does happen.

Very Good and helpful video!!! We normally don't think about how a plant is going to react after the shipping. Thanks for sharing it!!! :)

I love a good update! I had a very similar experience with my melano. I think they're just super sensitive to shipping. Little dainty princesses 👑
Overall, your plants recovered really well! It's a testament to your excellent care :)
