    Interesting..
    As a photographer as well as being in the vape industry for over a decade,
    when it came time for 'fog', apparently, I made something like these..
    4-LiPo mod, RDA w/ a quad-coil-build, Mini-Vac [hand held vacuum]
    100% VG drip fed into the RDA, 200-300w output, and whalla..
    Vaporizer does the heating/atomizing - Vac does the intake/suction/exhaust.
    My mini-vac took 1 single 9v battery. Modded to run a 3s LiPo for more output..
    That thing was no joke, and produced about 10x the 'fog' from these retail-versions.
    Also, pigment-powders [used for super concentrating dies/paints] can be added
    to the VG for some really cool and opaque 'fog' effects.

      What is the difference between a hazer, fogger, and smoke machine? I thought they were all doing basically the same thing just with different names? -P

      @@FStoppers It's different when you serious about smoke, Just like aps-c, full frame and medium format, they are all Camera but different when you study deep.
      Fog and haze are difference type of smoke which they can't replace each other.

    • @professionaI_yapper
      @professionaI_yapper 6 місяців тому

      @@FStoppersA haze machine pushes out smaller particles. Not cloud like. You can use a fogger to make haze but it's take a few minutes each time to fan out to thin out the thicker fog. Haze and fog liquids is also not interchangeable.

      3D printing allows us to get that incredibly small form factor. If you ever get a chance to take a look inside the MicroFogger 5 Pro, you’ll see that this manufacturing technique allows us to really minimise empty space - it’s really tightly packed in there!

  • @RicanStudio
    @RicanStudio 9 місяців тому +6

    I would love to have one of these but for $250+, I can't but feel that I'm getting ripped off. I haven't done the market research, perhaps they have, but I feel like that they'd make much more money selling these around $100-$150.
    Also @FStoppers have you ever done a test on if the smoke machines leave significant residue on lenses? At weddings / events when they are pumping out the fake smoke I'm always thinking about it.

    • @FStoppers
      @FStoppers  9 місяців тому +1

      Well they do make a smaller unit, the Microfogger 3, that is $150 so that is an option. As for the reside, the micro fogger 5 does leave some residue immediately below the unit after heavy use but I don't think the smoke itself is leaving much of a residue across the room. All of these smoke machines use some sort of vegetable glycerin which should wipe off fairly easily. If you are moving around the venue, I don't think the smoke is enough to really affect your camera unless it was placed right near the machine for an extended period of time. -P

    Lol you complain about the smokeGenie being expensive but didnt see their SmokeNinja for the same price as this device. The ninja is far better than this device. The genie is for cinema use and ninja is for photography, they stated that in their highlight. Genie and ninja have the same power output which are more powerful than microfogger. Better build quality and more intuitive design and friendlier user interface. Theres videos out there that compared these devices and microfogger was inferior in every way. You should try the genie and ninja before complaining about prices or anything. You get what you paid for.

      Hey! We wanted to correct you on a few things. The MicroFogger 5 Pro is a far more advanced device than the smokeninja, and it comes in at a lower price. Here are a few features that only MicroFogger has:
      -an easy to use screen interface to display power levels, battery status and temperature
      -advanced timer features that let you turn on continuous runtime, delays and loops
      -4 remote control channels or 4 power levels on the same remote (depending on setting)
      -8 independently adjustable smoke density and smoke speed settings
      -smaller size while retaining the same power
      -fully user-serviceable, where any component inside can be replaced in less than 2 minutes, if ever needed
      -a temperature sensor to optimise hearing coil lifespan
      -the ability to trigger the device via the USB port (useful for building into props)
      The smokeninja does not have any of these features, and all other features it has come standard with the MicroFogger already
      Regarding build quality, if you ever get a chance to visit our booth at many major camera gear convention in the US, we’re fairly certain you’ll agree that our MicroFogger 5 pro has a much higher build quality than the smokeninja or even their more expensive smokegenie, as we guess you have not held our device based on your feedback.

    I own previous models, and I've had nothing but problems. Their customer service was absolutely atrocious. The 3D printing is absolutely dog crap quality. the motherboard slowly drain the battery to the point where it would no longer charge and I had a disassemble the unit and plug it into a smart charger I've had to do that five times in the course of 6 months. That was what the light and 3 Pro. There has been numerous cheaper and better options hitting the market over the past few months I would avoid this company like the plague.

    this is the biggest rip off of all time! it ends up coming to around £700 by the time you get to the checkout. they also don't tell you that if you leave the tank on the machine it will ruin the device and you will get no refund. its 3d printed and its a very messy business trying to empty the tank after each use. it takes really long for it to heat up before the smoke gets dense enough, I got so fed up with it and tried to get a refund and they refused to give me a full refund. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS RIP OF MACHINE, THERE ARE WAY BETTER OPTIONS OUT THERE. I can literally buy 5 Lensgo machines for the price of this crap!
