Hi there! I’m a junior going into my senior year from lake Charles. I reallyyy wanna go to LSU but I’m worried my ACT scores are too low. I maintain a good GPA of about 3.5, I’m taking dual enrollment my senior year for three colleges courses each semester, but my score is an 18 because I’m a bad test taker when it’s timed. Do you know any friends who got accepted there with an 18? :(
Hi, I don’t know anyone who got accepted with and 18, but I know that if you keep taking the ACT or SAT, LSU will accept your highest one. Also check with someone in admissions and see what the ACT to GPA ratio is. For example, sometimes the higher your GPA the lower they may accept your test scores. I will also say as far as admissions, it’s not all about your grades, they consider the whole package
Hi so I’m going to be a senior this year. It’s summer time now ofc and I’m planning to increase my ACT score, I got a 22 the first try but haven’t taken the SAT yet but plan to. Would you consider that ACT score good in terms of LSU, even though I plan on trying to improve and taking practice tests. Also I haven’t had many to no extracurricular activities throughout highschool. This year I plan to join National honor society, journalism and an anime and foreign club would you consider that good ?
Yes you’re ACT score is good in my opinion, but ofc I think it’s more so about everything overall for your application (GPA, test scores, extracurricular activities, etc.) I would try to get your ACT or SAT as high as you can get it. As far as joining clubs that is also a really great idea!
Hi yes a 22 is very good for a ACT score as a freshman. I am a transfer student applying for fall 2022 as well. For more information about Freshman accepts go to the Lsu website and click undergraduate admissions. There it will provide you with all the information you will need to get accepted.
