Shalom, This Sabbath is Shemot, "the names," Shemot, "Exodus," 1:1-6:1; Isaiah 27:6-28:13; 29:22-23; Matthew 2:1-23. Theme: Israel's groanings, and evil's attempts to prevent the rise of an annointed one by the slaughter of innocents. Baruch Hashem! Am Yisrael chai, Baruch haba b'shem Adonai! Be well and be Blessed! A fellow sojourner
In Mary Nell Wyatt's book there are a lot of details found in Egypt about the works of Yosef, and the early life of Mosheh. Considering the age of Miryam, in watching out for her little brother floating down the river, it appears it may have been a well executed plan to offer the Princess a son to adopt.
I think verse 7 is written that way to draw attention to a special connection to the first prophecy in Genesis 3:15 where 'the seed of the woman will crush the serpent's head'. I think Egypt was the first of its seven heads? (Cf. Revelation 13:3,12 and Psalm 68:21)
Thank you
