    Shalom,
    This Sabbath is Shemot, "the names,"
    Shemot, "Exodus," 1:1-6:1;
    Yeshiyahu, "Isa." 27:6-28:13; 29:22-23;
    Mattityahu, "Matt." 2:1-23.
    Theme: Israel's groanings, and evil's attempts to prevent the rise of the annointed by the slaughter of innocents.
    Baruch Hashem!
    Am Yisrael chai,
    Baruch haba b'shem Adonai!
    (Tehillim 118:26; Mattityahu 23:39)
    Be well and be Blessed!
    A fellow sojourner

    Mosheh was called "Elohyim" because he was filled with HaRuach Elohyim, and the Word of Aviynu Elohenu was speaking through him. Elohyim is plural, Mosheh was not alone.

      Elohim are rulers or judges that function by divine commission and enablement. There are three roles that individual could operate in. The prophet, the priest or the king. There is a division of powers between the priest and the king and prophecy connects the two individuals fulfilling those roles.

    Why would they order the male child to be killed and not the daughters

    We need not think it was only 70 men plus a couple women.
    They were the heads of big family clans (households) just like Abraham was mot just he and his wife. They were patriarchs with hundreds of people in their households (that were more like principlaties).

      If one were to actually STUDY, one would find the EVIDENCE for the Mormon religion being an absolute fraud perpetrated by Joseph Smith about 1830, abundant and overwhelming. The man even claimed to decipher ancient Egyptian inscriptions only to find out later that the inscriptions didn't say anything even close to Joseph Smith's interpretation. Also, there is an account of a huge war that took place in upper New York with a specific location given. Archaeology was a very, very young science at the time. Since then, many archaeologists have gone to the site and not one shred of evidence of occupation, much less a war has been found.
      This is just for starters. There is so much more. The only reason, in my view, why the Mormon religion has lasted as long as it has, is due to the isolation experienced in Utah with no one to dispute Joseph Smith's claims and generation after generation growing up in it. At least they didn't try to propagate this apostacy by war like the Muslims have. Anyone with a moderate IQ will see this fraud for what it is, considering the access to knowledge we have today at our fingertips.
      Did I mention his documented false prophecies? What did the Lord say to do with false prophets? I'm pretty sure He said to stone the false prophet, not make a religion out of it. Pull Your Head Out! Please, Michael Parks
