If you have shapes that touch the edge of the small square you need to have the left over shape that is off the edge of the square on the exact opposite side of the square. This will create a truly seamless pattern. Otherwise you can stay away from the edges of the small square and have a good pattern as well.

Can you help, I don't know why, but when I change the px (4000x4000) for the LG board on the right the board appears very tiny and then I loose the correct size when I drag to make it larger.

Okay, update! I figured it out. I was creating elements on artboard instead of symbol rectangle. Had to specifically pick that layer from the layer panel
