Thanks for showing WHAT to do rather than 15 minutes of why you might want to. Very helpful to just get straight into it.

I haven't bought the Boss yet, but this video gives me an idea what I'm in for....not bad at all, in fact very simple to use....

Frank, thank you for the informative demo. I'm a electronic bonehead when it comes to these things, but I saw it demo'd at the Winter NAMM in Anaheim, so I got one a couple of years ago. After not understanding the manual, I gave up on it and it sat in the closet. After deciding to almost sell it, I thought I would look for a new demo. When I used the word Tutorial I came upon your video. Now it's in constant use. Thanks again.

This was extremely helpful. Thank you. I had to go through 4 other videos of bullshit before I got to this one, which actually SHOWED you how to record and store your samples. Let this be a lesson to those other so-called "tutorials": Instead of just talking endlessly to hear your own voice, how about you show what the product really does the way this video did? Just saying'...

You could also record WITH drums, for a solid tempo, and then just turn down the rhythm volume (if you don’t want to hear it). : )

Thanks for that demo on the basics of the RC3. The first six demos on You tube told me nothing useful at all! I had the RC2 previously which as well as being a lot simpler to use worked in a totally different way. I found the manual fro the RC3 pretty useless in getting you up and running apart from being printed in microscopic type size...
    Thanks!

This is a nice intro thanks!
The only other thing I might add is that it appears that there is a setting for autostart. i.e. the loop starts when you start playing. That would presumably help with matching the timing at the beginning.
Anyway... nice tutorial for beginners like me.

You can use a mixer or you can find a cable that plugs into your MIC and then converts to a 1/4 inch guitar like cable. I don't really use acoustic instruments other than the guitar and my guitar has a cable output so I can hook it directly into the loop station

LOOPER INSTRUCTIONS - I just typed out what I heard:
    1. Left corner - inner circle controls rhythm volume /
    outer circle controls loop volume
    2. Hold the rhythm button until it shows R0, then use arrows to get different tracks
    3. Use the tempo button to tap the tempo you want
    4. Tap once to turn off the tempo rhythm
    5. To record - tap on beat 1, end on beat 1
    6. Hit once - stop recording, yet will keep playing what you have
    7. Hit twice - stops the sound
    8. Hit once - play song again
    9. Want to delete everything - hold the write button until it says DL, then click again
    10. To save/write a song, quickly press the write key, it will show UR, then hit again and its saved

The first loop you lay down dictates the length of the loop. As in you can't overdub a longer loop once the initial track is put down but it can record up to 3 hours. So you could effectively record an entire album on this thing. You can't just drop loops. That requires a more advanced pedal. This is more of a practice/ fun tool. I would say not ideal for gigging

  • @tubetoprocker
    @tubetoprocker  11 років тому +1

Hi, not that I know of. I think this one is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Basically the hard part is getting that first loop recorded right. i like to start playing a verse of two and then tap my foot on the pedal on the third repetition and then tap my foot on the last note of the loop. The other option is to record to Garage Band and then loop it with the tool they have. That is pretty easy but its harder because you have to do all the work on the computer

There is no mic jack so you need to use a converter cable that will take the mic cable and convert it to guitar. I don't really use the loop station for vocals just for the background tracks and then record the vocals using Garage Band

Thanks for your video. Just wondering how would you record using a loop pedal? Because on most tutorial videos including yours the output is plugged into speakers. So say you're using a Boss RC-30 with two inputs (mic and guitar) and you want to record the whole performance... would you have to put a mic on the speaker or something? Sorry not the best with the tech stuff haha
