Beautiful looking tools, but I hate it when they skip sizes like that. As a cycle mechanic, I absolutely have a use for 9, 11, 15 and 16mm sockets! I can't recall ever needing 18 or 20mm, though. Koken does the same thing - I bought a Koken 3/8" socket set and had to buy extra sockets to fill in the gaps.
Mine have some battle scars now also since I don’t baby them. I work with a lot of heat treated, hardened steel tooling which can be brutal on chrome, but they’re holding up great.
I love the look of their wooden screwdrivers going to have to get myself some them. Haven't decided if I'm just going to get Koken sockets sure grip, or these types works of art..
I know that I will probably break down and get all of them at some point too. Not that I need a 9mm or a 16mm but it looks nice having them all lined up! :)
I would love to get a nice Nepros socket set but I already have all the socket sets I need and it would be very difficult to justify the price. Maybe one day I'll crack if I keep watching these videos. haha

A NEPROS no size skip 6-point set (which includes a 15mm) is available. The part number is NTB320A. This includes twenty 6 point 3/8 sockets (NB3- 055,06,07,08,09,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24) and two NEHB310 socket holders. Or a 15mm can be purchased separately (NB3-15) if you want to add it to a smaller set. 12 point sockets and also inch size sockets are also available.
I hear ya, although I literally never have needed a 15mm in my life since I almost exclusively have dealt with Japanese or American manufactures of equipment.

It allows you to quickly spin a nut or bolt in or out when it’s loose. Most spinners are 1/4” to 1/4”, or 3/8” to 3/8”, but I do also have ones that work as adapters also.
Enjoy watching your videos. Debating the short ratchet vs. compact short ratchet. Do you know the purpose of the black ring near the end of the handle? Is it plastic or rubber? Any thoughts on compact version vs. non-compact? Thanks in advance.
The compact would probably be better for most uses. I’ll most likely get one eventually. I do like my stuby 3/8” drive ratchet with a bit adapter for torx and hex fasteners. It fits the hand nicely. The black ring is rubber, it feels nice, adds just a bit of grip, and is plenty tough. If you did ever ruin it you can get replacements.
They seem to be fairly robust and tough, and I have no concerns at this point. I’m not quite sure if they’re actually rubber and latex based or if they are a plastic based elastomer. Probably would not hold up great long term being doused in carb cleaner. Also Nepros does sell replacement rings in black, blue, red, and yellow.
Looks like there is more play in the Nepros socket/wrench connection compared to the Koken z-series socket/wrench connection. Would you agree? thanks for the videos btw
There is essentially zero play at all with the z-series items. There is a tiny bit with the Nepros. The Ko-ken mechanism also has less force to get to the next “click” of the gear. Although they are both very good in this regard and when I’m using them I don’t really perceive any meaningful difference. Both are excellent!
One last thing drpd sells the individual nepros sockets if you need to fill in 8-10$ a pop but I think they are like snap on same price in a set or individual
Those adjustable wrenches are really nice, id like a really big one as a show off tool LOL I wonder what cost more those or the snap on ones, The 6" snap on adjustable is $65 i think.
Would have liked to see the surface on the adjustable wrench that touches the bolts as well a the sliding part. Also would have been fun to take apart the ratchet.
I like them both. I really like the satin finish on my KTC wrenches, and they’re the ones who make Nepros, so they’re good at making nice finishes in general. I will say that I use my Koken and KTC tools in industrial use that I don’t normally take my Nepros stuff into. But I still love both!
I don’t have any of their stuff at the moment, but I’ve been looking for some ratcheting combination wrenches and their’s look like the best of the bunch. $300 for their metric set I think but it may be worth it!
The sk socket sets i got look like theyre unfinished, like the hex was broached in and fhe shaving was just left? Most other mnufacturers would run another drill down in there and clean those pieces out... sk just left them and chromed over it :/

Japanese standards don’t really use 15mm, there’s virtually no need for it in products for the Japanese market. Nepros does make them and you can buy any size.
Yeah, I was looking through their site and I think all their socket sets are missing sizes. You'd have to buy them separately. Its a shame because if I ever pull the trigger on a Nepros set I'll want a full set in a case with no skips.
I agree, I prefer a complete set just for peace of mind, but the Japanese industrial Standard uses only certain sizes, so if you’re in Japan and working on Japanese stuff, you would never need the skipped sizes. That probably applies to the vast majority of their customers.
Not sure. You’d have to check on nepros.net (very slow getting orders out) or try to get them through amazon.co.jp and see if they’d ship to your location. Amazon Japan doesn’t ship all items to the USA, so it can be a bit hard to get certain things even for me.

The Koken sockets are also excellent and more affordable. When I need new sizes I go for koken usually.

Maybe dip your toe in with one of their ratchets. I highly recommend their long handle 1/4” and 3/8” and their spinner adapters. I love them so much!

I used various tools, but Nepros and Makita are enough for the world.

I think it was around ¥8,500~¥10,000, so something like $85-$100.

Prefer koken and stahlwille satin finish to chrome. More durable less slippy show less scratches etc. Nice looking tools though
I like them both. I really like the satin finish on my KTC wrenches, and they’re the ones who make Nepros, so they’re good at making nice finishes in general. I will say that I use my Koken and KTC tools in industrial use that I don’t normally take my Nepros stuff into. But I still love both!
SK does some great chrome. Haven't seen a nepros in person, but on video their chrome leaves nothing to be desired either.

The handle on the adjustable ratchet is made for a pipe - their own pipe
