I am so overwhelmed. I have all of the above to do. It just seems like one step forward and two steps back. I haul two or three boxes or bags of donations out every week. I don't purchase more. Trying to get it decluttered and organized. I am really getting that defeated feeling! Thank you for your tips and positive attitude. It really helps. I just have a long way to go.

You feel like you have a long way to go but decluttering 2 to 3 boxes or bags a week is fabulous AND it is working. You are doing it ! Just keep going. Small amounts accomplished over the short term equals large amounts accomplished over the long term. Yeah for you!

So many wonderful tips. I can’t begin to tell you how you’ve helped me organise my life after watching you for some years now. And this video had so much more and cemented in my brain some that I’d forgotten. Even at 65 yrs of age I am still learning 😮 you are such an inspiration dear Kallie. My favourite tip today I think was to put away everything even if you use it every day. You are so right about clutter attracting clutter. I hope you and your family are well. Greetings from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺

I have the same hair tie and hair pin organizer. 😂 You’re absolutely right. We don’t put things back in their place because we think we’re saving time. But it doesn’t take that much time to put away and take it out again. 😅

It's interesting to me that your videos deal with things that I actually have issues with doing around the house, I am thankful for that because sometimes I watch videos by yt creators that are mostly detached from reality and that keep pumping out content for content's sake and it has very little use, so thank you.

I love your tips today. The one about tackling one house thing a day really spoke to me. I am struggling with decluttering my basement and a closet in our bathroom. I will try breaking these into smaller tasks. Thanks!

      Hello!!
#1 (only take 5 mins to tidy a small task in each room). Most likely it will. So set your timer for 5 mins then tackle a table keep a small basket to put everything back.
      #2 Give everything a home.
      #3 bedroom
Should only have a tv on wall. Bed, cover, pillow. Small table and lamp.
#4 When you start to feel over whelmed take a break.
#5 write down everything you do.
#6 do only 2 small tasks a day.
      #7 sweep & mop
Wash dishes & wipe down everything.
#8 keep your night clothes near th resteoom.
#9 do a small load of clothes a day.
#10 relax and read over your notes of what you accomplished for that day.
#11 LET'S MAKE ORGANIZING FUN AGAIN.
#12 A SMALL LOAD A DAY. KEEPS THE PILES AWAY.
#13 WRITE DOWN WHAT YOUR EATING DURING THE WEEK.
#14 ONLY BUY WHAT YOUR EATING DURING THAT WEEK.
#15 ROTATE YOUR FOOD BEFORE ANOTHER LARGE GROCERY HAUL.
#16 DAYS TO CLEAN OUT FRIDGE: FRI, SATUR, OR SUNDAY. WHY? Because it's easier to know how much food you have left. And your mind is at ease because everything old is thrown away and for got about!! I hope this helps.
Download temu: easy shirt storage buy this zip up bags and stand you clothes on it's side so you can recognize it faster.

Thank you for the videos. I live in a one bedroom house we bought didn't think I was going to get pregnant but then 2 years later we now have our miracle baby. My husband and I also have 3 dogs, cat, and a bearded dragon so it's been a mess, however slowly we have been organizing our house.

So many great tidy-home tips!! I'd say the #1 best tip for clutterbugs is 'Make a home for everything." For me personally, I find pairing things I enjoy with as many chores as possible - i.e, I take my laptop into the laundry room, and cue up a fave YT channel's vid while taking clothes out of the washer/dryer. Even if you have a very small laundry area (hallway closet), this still works - especially if you have room to squeeze a light-weight folding table alongside the dryer to pull out, pop in the hallway, and fold while you watch that fun BFC video.

Using the timer to see how long something takes is something I've done so much that I realized most things can be done in two to five minutes. So during my day when I stand up to take a break from work, I set a timer and do one of those things (dishes, laundry, taking things to the basement, watering plants). And I put it on my to-dos everyday to clean just one shelf or drawer -- be it in the fridge, the closet, a bookshelf -- and that has served me amazingly well. But a place for everything is by far both the most difficult and most important.

Creating a home for a real eye opener. My husband is always looking for a tape measure. I created a space for the tape measures. After going through my house decluttering a few weeks later, I found 27 tape measures. My husband asked me where the designated space for hammers is. After years of nagging my very unorganized, stubborn against any change to organize him, I found a way that works. It is as simple as making a designated space. Now any tips on convincing him that we don't need to keep all 27 tape measures? Hint: collected dust method doesn't work😂. Love your content. God Bless❤

Size of the drop zone maybe? At any given time I have 2-3 in my garage, 2-3 in my upstairs/house, and 2-3 in my workshop as that's the maximum space for them in each location (one tends to wander, I think I own 5-6 total, only one of which I actually purchased, others were gifted or a freebie from Harbor Freight)

I try to make sure every item has a home. However, I live with an ADHD husband. This means once a month or so, the "cleaning fairy" reorganizes his desk (throwing away lots of junk mail that he "thought" he might read sometime.) I keep a basket by his favorite chair for him to put the books he's reading, so they aren't all over the house. He's a big reader! And our best investment was a Table Mate XL TV Tray Table. He can spread his work out on it when he comes home, but it folds up and can be store easily as well!

@@Maggies87 Yes, but there are SO MANY pluses too! My husband is incredibly creative and very enthusiastic about life. He is a teacher and his students adore him. He has worked hard to find ways to stay organized and has become a great list maker!! I'm his greatest fan!!
I have debilitating health issues, and he never complains about having to take care of me. And since I am a very organized person, we balance each other out!

I'm the only one of my friends and family who has a robotic vac/mop (Billy) and an Alexa (Two Shows and one Dot). My grandson lives with me and he knows to put groceries on my Alexa shopping list otherwise I won't order it. I schedule things on my phone calendar and print them out monthly so he knows what tasks he has to do. As for Billy, he does my floors beautifully, but I do have to sweep around the edges.
What is helping me get my house in order, is watching whatever organizing/decluttering/house cleaning video come up in my feed. Even if I've seen it before, I watch it. Keeps me motivated.

I resisted the container theory for YEARS. 'But what if I have more toothpaste, bc I just went to Costco? And then when I have none left, I'm just taking up space unnecessarily, with an empty container!?' This is how i thought...
But I finally decided to do it, and it has been *amazing*. I got some plastic shoeboxes at Target with pretty green lids. Labeled one "Facial Items", one "Nails" (for manicure stuff), one "Dental", one "Mens Toiletries" for the teens in the house, etc. And even if I'm down to only one tube of toothpaste, guess what? I still have dental floss and toothbrush heads, and other stuff in there, so it isn't a waste of space at ALL. It also helps me save space, bc I never buy more of something just bc I dont know if Im out, or bc I can't find the last deodorant in my backstock. Now I always know where to look, and how much is left. And it stops me from buying stuff too, bc instead of getting more of something, I'll think, "No, that container is already pretty full. I'd better wait on that..."
AND bc they are labeled, my kids also know where to look for more toothpaste and deodorant, without even asking me! It's a Christmas miracle! 😂
Now if I could only train them to TELL me, when they take the last of something... 🙄
Thanks, Kallie, for your incredibly helpful videos!

To be fair, the convenience of leaving something out is often more about the mental energy than the time saved. You have to remember to get the lunch box out (and for a lot of people it's out of sight, out of mind). And if it's a hectic time of day, you might forget all together. There are other ways to get around this but it helps to understand WHY you want to leave things out instead of putting them away. :)

GOOD POINT. Normally the people who does this are visual or eye organizers/learners. They want to see the stuff OUT because their brain will forget about it, in this case it's better to display those items like art

I hate running out of my toiletries so as soon as I open a new one, i add it to my shopping list and next time I'm at the store I buy the next one. I keep the extras in a bin in my linen closet so it's out of the way.

Hi Kallie! I’m pretty sure I saw a video of yours where you recommended shavers… what were they? I need new shavers!

I love what my robot vacuum does for me. However, it’s often like having a naughty pet. It seems to get stuck some place in the house and I have to hunt for it.
