    Thanks. Have a cup of ☕️ while listening BandMaid’s songs. When I first decided to follow Band MAID, I listened to BEFORE YESTERDAY A LOTsS😊. Not a Music nerd So not gonna say this/that song is my favourite. I like Band Maid because Their Concert(OKYUJI) is UNIQUE for me😊. THANKS 🙏 FOR 30 Days BAND MAID.

      @@ReactAttack90 FYI OKYUJI is what Band-Maid calls their concerts. Its literal meaning is something akin to "service" (so it's an unusual name even for Japanese speakers). The OP was not referring to a specific show.

    The ability of a band to produce such a diverse range of sounds and styles is indeed impressive. It not only showcases their versatility and talent, but also keeps their music fresh and interesting. It’s one of the reasons why we Maidiacs appreciate them so much!

    The combinations of punk, metal, pop, funk, jazz and more... as we Madiacs often say, the genre is Band-Maid. The evolution has been anything but a straight line.

    One of Band Maid’s most underrated songs. Kanami’s heavy guitar solo “out to no where” is one of my favorite rock solo’s of all time…it ‘s only 20 seconds, but it’s Band Maid doing Band Maid things. Best band ever, no doubt! I LOVE BAND MAID ❤❤

    I just binge watched the first three days and I'm wandering if the full thirty days will do to you what BAND-MAID and other Japanese bands did to me. After listening to lot's of Japanese music and getting your ear in for it, you then you go back to what you were listening to before. Your old stuff is still good and you enjoy it but you have these little thoughts that creep in like "that bass line was a bit dull" when before you never even noticed the bass line or "that drum fill could have had more to it" and "this song is all vocals and not much else". It will be interesting to see if it changes your music head.

    Day 3 down...and "Before Yesterday" it was the beginning of the 30 days of Band-Maid. "Forward" or backwards...it really doesn't matter to me. Just loving seeing people falling in love with the Maids and their music...like the rest of us. And don't Pigeon-toe them into a genre...they mix and match at will. Band-Maid is their own genre. I'm thinking you'll follow the video uploads...which has me thinking you will be going more than 30 days for Band-Maid...which is totally fine by me. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘

    Thx for the reaction! If you value unique (like I do lol), then I think you'll love Awkward from their 2017 Studio Coast live (it's a mid-tempo song, which this band also excels in making). It was such a strange and interesting song to me that got me hooked on the band. For me it really shows the insanely creative mind of Kanami (she's the lead guitar and the band's songwriter). Puzzle and Moratorium from the same show are also early Kanami songs that many feel are rock masterpieces (best heard imo from the same Studio Coast live).

    I love this song and video! When this video was new there was a lot of talk about MISA, The Barefoot Bass Assassin, of being very solemn, not showing a lot of emotion, but we get to see her smile and laugh a lot in this video! The "MISA, MISA, MISA!" chant is said to have started at this show, and the band says she is still the fan favorite in the band. Band-Maid didn't write this song, but they sure perform it to perfection!

    The riff is extremely reminiscent of 1984’s Boys of Summer by Don Henley. You probably think of it as emo or pop-punk because of the Ataris cover from 2003.

    This is from back when their management was bringing in outside songwriters. There was lots of good material (the non-fiction days, with a great MV, is one of the best), but things really take off when they are finally able to write their own songs.
    SAIKI’s vocals are indeed entrancing. This is before her voice changes.

    Back in "The Day", groups trying to expand their stylistic range would tend to use one new genre for one new song (e.g. "our sitar song", "our ska song"). Band Maid will commonly integrate several genres/subgenres within a single song, and do so so skillfully that it comes out "whole cloth". This makes them very hard to categorize; Maidiacs will call it "The Band Maid Genre" or "Band Maid Doing Band Maid Things" -- these labels are not terribly useful to people outside of the Band Maid Community. It does show, however, that they are not only great players, but equally gifted composers and arrangers. It also speaks to the expansive and varied collective musical knowledge that exists between the five members.

    You won me over with this one ... new subby from Aust.
    What caught me was that you seem to pick up stuff that's happening throughout the whole song, and with these guys there is ALWAYS something happening in ALL of their songs. I've often said that you have to listen to each of their songs at least 4 times to appreciate what each musician adds.
    If only "SOME" people would get over the outfits and the language barrier an give em a go ... cos after a coupla songs, you won't even notice.
    Just watched your other reactions an lookin forward to the next, and the next etc etc.

    Dude, don't be afraid of your video getting taken down if you play the whole song straight through, a lot of other "reactors" do that... eight pauses is a lot of pauses in a four minute video, you end up ruining the flow of the song. 😆

    Not rating the song, but the video I would genuinely say is their weakest music video of all as it’s just a very basic video collage from one specific trip. The rest of the music videos are about perfect for each song. If you want music videos they only get better from here.

I’m just saying when you compare it to their other videos that fit the exact style of each song, like Warning!’s vehicular antics, Unleashed’s anime, Blooming’s glowing tinge, Gioncho’s scenery, the iconic late 90’s/00’s White room Thrill video, etc. They all have more effort and more memorable videos.

    • @chrisbergsten1429
      @chrisbergsten1429 21 день тому +2

      Call me biased since I've visited Seattle several times, but I think having all that footage from their first US show is pretty neat. Also, the shots of them touring downtown Seattle, looking at records, etc are fun. It's a better video than Dice, Start Over (blech), YOLO...
      Also, there's nothing high effort about Thrill, it's literally just an empty space and they did a couple of versions with different colored outfits and edited them together, what drugs are you on 😂

    • @Parker--
      @Parker-- 21 день тому

      @@chrisbergsten1429 No way. DICE and Start Over are PERFECT for those types of songs. You can despise Start Over and its subject matter, but given the style and song and subject matter, that is exactly what the music video should be. It is 100% on point. It is over the top cheesy; that's the point. You have to judge the music video as it correlates to the song and Start Over is easily one of the most on-point translations of music to video.
      I mean a white room with two red or black outfits pretending to play to the studio track is still infinitely more effort than BY. BY is a zero effort video in terms of the band and it's one guy at his macbook whereas there is actual production in every single other video. Not to mention, again when it comes to encapsulating the style of the song into visual, Thrill, nails it. The song feels like it comes from the age when blank single color rooms were very common. It's a well known trope that was even in games like Rock Band and even parodied by The White Stripes, who also not coincidentally always primarily relied on reds, whites and blacks for their visuals, using legos because everyone knew it. It's a rock staple and it's a rock song.
      I mean, what does Seattle have to do with Before Yesterday? This argument all seems to stem from a very textbook definition of the term homer. If this was anywhere other than Seattle, you wouldn't give the slightest crap about it.
