hii :) i'm a beginner drummer, i've been in private lessons and recently joined school of rock to play classic metal! they kind of just threw me into the program without much help and expect me to do great, this isn't ideal since i've got social anxiety so it's a bit dreadful to get lessons on something when im uncomfortable. im searching through youtube to hopefully find some songs i really like with step by step learning. i just wanted to say this is one of the first channels ive found and i love it! keep up the amazing work :)

Hi, i wan't to get into drumming and i'm probably gonna buy a kit for Christmas. This is one of the songs i really wan't to learn but you seem to have 5 drums and the kit i'm looking at only has 4, do i need to buy anything extra?
A 4 piece set will do just fine. It helps having the 5 piece, but all you have to do is double up the hi and mid tom parts on your hi tom, problem solved. :)

sure!... so you have a 5 piece set... 1 crash/ride 1 hi hat.. if the song requires 2 crashes, just double up on your 1 crash/ride.

Start off by learning songs like 7 nation army, practise rudiments until drumming feels natural and then try songs like this

if it doesn't recognize it, I'd still get used to doing the rocking hi hats. Playing quarter notes is an option for now if needed.

for the beginning, what would you do if you only have 3 toms (including floor)
use your high tom for any parts that I use the 1st 2 toms on.
in my advice, hit the floor tom than do the 2 other toms as he says (right, left)

tune of the top and bottom to frequencies that don't contradict each other. typically a tighter bottom head
