I found a used copy of that album on Amazon a few days after "A Problem with a Poo" aired and bought it (along with a replacement of the Chef Aid album, the explicit version, because dickhead in high school tried to put a staple through my disc when I walked away from my CD player). I didn't even know there was an album version of the episode "Mr. Hankey's Christmas Classics". I don't even wait for Christmas time to listen to it, I play it year round.
I was 10 years old when South Park first aired. My parents didn’t like me watching it but I did it anyway. When they saw the episode Mr. Hankey the Christmas Poo, they came across some of the clips from the episode that included Cartman singing “Kyle’s Mum is a B*tch” and the Mr Hankey Craft Set Advert and they were laughing their heads off.
The episode were cancel culture was attacking mr Hankey and Kyle was defending him was too real. Especially today. "You can't defend friends in 2018" 2023 is way worse.
And then he returns with a vengeance in south park: snow day, Mr Hankey casts a neverending blizzard with dark matter, and as the main antagonist, in the end, Mr Hankey is defeated by Cartman, Kyle, Stan, Kenny, and the new kid, and they forgive him even after Mr Hankey got cancelled
The scene where Santa finds out how the town treated Mr Hankey and tells everyone to go f themselves themselves is amazing. The only problem is that he didn’t spend more time ripping into those self righteous assholes.
I can't confirm this, so take it with a grain of salt, I think Matt and Trey believed that the fans hated Mr. Hanky. According to TV Tropes (again, grain of salt), Mr Hanky is viewed as The Scrappy (here in meaning a character that inspired a large amount of unintended hatred by the audience) by a not insubstantial number of fans. This might explain the bitter send off.
OMG!! The Circle of Poo song put me off burgers for three years 😂😂 Then my best mate borrowed the video and told me when his mum asked him if he wanted burgers for dinner while he was watching that episode his reaction was: “Erm… No.”
I may not be a fan of Mr.Hankey in the early Seasons of South Park but he warmed up to me after the first episode despite of his cancelation it felt bitter sweet of how he was written off of the show
Red Sleigh Down will always be my favorite South Park Christmas episode seeing Mr.Hankey and the Boys and Jesus saving Santa and being home for Christmas and it was magical EPIC and Whimsical

Remember when Santa comes to help, only to leave in a huff when he finds out they kicked Mr. Hankey out because “he tweeted some inappropriate things”.
I'm disappointed that the Simpsons didn't reciprocate by actually putting Mr. Hankey in an episode. They would have been the show to do that, and it's a shame they didn't.

One time a while back I was working till almost 3 in the morning in a Kitchen and had to do the cleanup as the janitors no showed and we got the job dropped on us (that was a 14 hour day for me) we were so exhausted near the end we started singing random songs from TV, I ended up singing "Kyle's Mon is a B word" in a Cartman voice and got everyone laughing. Apparently I was a bit too loud as the Night Manager came out and was pretty angry. Unfortunately for me I was so out of it due to being tired and angry from the long shift I just went full Cartman on him, thankfully he just started laughing.
Fun fact: Mr. Hanky was kot LIKELY inspired by, or possibly a coincidence, a refrence to a Catalan Xmas tradition where you have to BEAT A WOODEN LOG, untill it POOPS OUT gifts! There's also anothr Catalan xmas tradition, and its a figure of a man POOPING on the floor.
It's not like he was my favourite character ever or anything, but I also didn't like the way Mr. Hankey left the show. I like that he was a beam of sunshine in a pretty dark show, even if he was an anthropomorphic turd. I'd honestly wished they'd have made fun of Roseanne directly like they did some other celebrities, rather than sacrificing one of their own characters. I would be OK with Mr. Hankey coming back for Christmas-themed episodes, but I miss Satan a lot more than I miss him.

The controversy and hype wave that followed is something I've never seen since. A year and half later, South Park was everywhere! Everyone had the merch, was quoting, and talking about it. It changed the world from school yards to adults in offices. It is a fact that without those original seasons, there would be no South Park. If they made a show like the one they have nowadays back then. It wouldn't have been half as big as it is now. I'm not saying the new stuff isn't good. But it they are seriously underplaying how important those first seasons were.
I've rewatched the early seasons a few years ago. The only disagreement I have is with Season 3, which did start off more of the same but gradually improved, especially after the movie's release. Seasons 1 & 2, though, are products of their time. Not much of it is witty or coherent, and the one-dimensional characterisation is hard to ignore. Season 1 I'll cut some slack since everything has to start somewhere, but Season 2 is just an uninspired rehash with very few good episodes and an over reliance on gimmicks like catchphrases. Are they important? Yes. It's hard not to respect them for everything they've done. But in terms of what makes for engaging animation, they don't stack up much.

The episode with Mr. Hanky and his nerdy disbelieving son was a direct reference to the 1974 'Twas the Night Before Christmas cartoon. I loved that as a kid, and seeing that South Park episode parody it was hilarious!
This was very depressing, when they destroyed Mr. Hankey, because he was not only well, but he was a literal "piece of shit" fish out of water who was legit wholesome that emerges once a year into a world full of figurative pieces of shit populating the town of South Park. They only destroyed Mr. Hankey because the thing he is (a poo) sounds like the name of a Simpsons character that got destroyed, so Mr. Hankey was simply an easy choice for a scapegoat that wasn't even necessary because Parker and Stone could have just ignored the Apu controversy and covered another even that happened a few days earlier.

I might be in the minority here, but I didn't really like Mr. Hankey except in the episode with the stop animated Christmas short. Even as a kid I thought he was too gross as a concept and a one-note character, but it was cool to see his character expanded with his family. Plus I just like that episode, most of the other Christmas specials don't hit for me (but I love how crazy and satirical Woodland Critter Christmas is though) I never knew they got rid of him since I dropped put of the show somewhere around season 13. It does seem like kind of a weird way to expel his character.

I can't really watch the episodes where they 'cancelled' him, as it touches on so many absurdly out of proportion cancellations of characters/people in real life...i just can't stand it. Honestly I miss the days when I had absolutely little to no idea what South park is satirizing...lately I'm aware of EVERYTHING, and it's bad enough being aware of it without being reminded of it in a show. Even if it is poking fun at the absurdity of peoples heads right now...the fact that it's REAL and not an exaggerated fiction...is just freaking sad. i loved the episode where he takes ambien. probably the most i’ve laughed at a south park episode was in that one. whenever i’m sick i always mimic mr hanley and go “sorry i have the sniffles” to my girlfriend

The episode with Mr. Hanky and his nerdy disbelieving son was a direct reference to the 1974 'Twas the Night Before Christmas cartoon. I loved that as a kid, and seeing that South Park episode parody it was hilarious!
I think they got rid of Hankey who was positive to show how Apu is very positive and doesn’t deserve the hate.

This was very depressing, when they destroyed Mr. Hankey, because he was not only well, but he was a literal "piece of shit" fish out of water who was legit wholesome that emerges once a year into a world full of figurative pieces of shit populating the town of South Park. They only destroyed Mr. Hankey because the thing he is (a poo) sounds like the name of a Simpsons character that got destroyed, so Mr. Hankey was simply an easy choice for a scapegoat that wasn't even necessary because Parker and Stone could have just ignored the Apu controversy and covered another even that happened a few days earlier.

i tried to watch "a very crappy christmas" for butters' role but i just couldn't really get past mr hankey and his family LOL. i get that a lot of people have nostalgia for the character, but i don't relate because i'm a new fan, so it's like "are you actually fucking 5 years old" (still love em don't get me wrong)

I might be in the minority here, but I didn't really like Mr. Hankey except in the episode with the stop animated Christmas short. Even as a kid I thought he was too gross as a concept and a one-note character, but it was cool to see his character expanded with his family. Plus I just like that episode, most of the other Christmas specials don't hit for me (but I love how crazy and satirical Woodland Critter Christmas is though)
I never knew they got rid of him since I dropped put of the show somewhere around season 13. It does seem like kind of a weird way to expel his character.

Don’t hate me but I never liked mr hanky. Once I heard his voice I stopped the episode and I haven’t watched a episode with him in it since… great video today Lydia. My package has came but I haven’t picked it up yet. I will in a week when I visit my parents for the holidays. Will be like my own little Christmas gift for myself 😊😊

I can't really watch the episodes where they 'cancelled' him, as it touches on so many absurdly out of proportion cancellations of characters/people in real life...i just can't stand it.
Honestly I miss the days when I had absolutely little to no idea what South park is satirizing...lately I'm aware of EVERYTHING, and it's bad enough being aware of it without being reminded of it in a show. Even if it is poking fun at the absurdity of peoples heads right now...the fact that it's REAL and not an exaggerated fiction...is just freaking sad.
The only uptick was Santa coming to the town in a later episode, hearing what all the people did to Mr. Hankey...and pretty much telling them all to go F*ck themselves.
