Kenny was always my favorite character. I don't know, the fact he died horrible deaths all the time, but still got up every morning to live his best life. Not to mention, some of his deaths were for the greater good. It just kind of makes the character feel heroic.
I honestly wonder how Kenny never figured out how to profit from his own death. Dying rich people will pay a lot of money to live, and Kenny could theoretically illegally sell them his organs and simply come back the next day having had the money paid to his family.
@@kentkearney6623 Yes there are a couple of episodes in which Kenny sacrifices himself for others, in the episode jewbilee he saves the jews by destroying the conch shell moses is trapped in, killing himself in the process, in the episode Cartman's Mom is Still a Dirty Slut, he sacrifices himself to restore electricity to a hospital by starting a generator by making his body the conductor between live wires.

Kenny is my Favorite South Park character. I just love the fact that he actually really cares for his sister and that he often acts extremely selfless. He would have been justified in being cynical and mean to everyone and hating the world, after all he is poor, constantly made fun of and treated in the most abusive way by pretty muh everyone including his parents, but he still wants to do the right thing (most of the time). In a way he seems like a representation of hope, because at times it might seem like hope is dead but in the end it can't truly die.
I feel like the reason Trey Parker and Matt Stone stopped killing him off, is because they themselves said that they were running out of ideas after a long period of time.
I noticed that you called Kenny "The Cruelest Joke" like your videos on Klaus and Meg. Personally, I would not place Kenny in the same category as Meg and Klaus; his deaths were not caused by hatred from others, unlike Meg. Also, he was liked and respected by his peers. In summary, I would not classify as a "punching bag" in comparison to other characters like Meg or Klaus. In my opinion, I would argue Butters to be South Park's "cruelest joke".
They loved Kenny. He was designed to be the character that died every episode and that was the joke. Then killed him "for real", gave him a season break for audience space/exposure, and when he came back it was a big deal even when the show depicted it like it wasn't. He does still die sometimes just rarely. And its still funny when it happens
Imagine how sad it would be if Kenny had stayed dead even after Season 6. He would have an even more depressing legacy than Pip. What that's sad, Kenny is starting to have a character arc, and it would be great if suddenly he magically made Stan and Kyle remember the pain of his past deaths and they apologize for being clueless. not rlly, she said it was the 52nd time that happened when by that point in the show it was just 30-40 times I think. but ig they were counting times from earlier in kenny's life? lol
My own headcanon in-continuity explanation for why Kenny stopped dying so much: before he died of the illness in “Kenny Dies,” all prior deaths were something that had been _done to_ him. This one was his 1ˢᵗ death of _completely natural_ causes, _not_ caused by any action by anyone (other times he did die of some infection such as herpes, but the boys deliberately gave themselves that). Until then, he’d return when his parents did the nasty and produced his new body. He never knew that part because he was in Hell (usually) or Heaven (rarely) when that happened, and didn’t realize that he was back until his new newborn body had swiftly, over the course of a single night, grown back to his current age, and he woke up that morning (his one simple fade-in re-appearance resurrection was a special case). He would’ve stayed dead forever after the natural causes death if Cartman hadn’t drank his ashes as a milkshake, which yanked his soul out of Hell and caused him to possess Cartman for a few episodes. Then, when Kenny’s soul was exorcised by Chef’s parents, Kenny’s soul drifted about (possessing an actor briefly). Then, when Jesus was killed and resurrected towards the end of that season, since He shares the power of resurrection with Kenny, He met Kenny’s soul and pointed him back to South Park where his friends were, and regenerated his body without his parents having to rebirth him the usual way (the only other time this happened since the Cartman’s Mom is Still a Dirty Slut reappearance). Rather than fade-in on-frame like he did in the Carman’s Mom two-parter, he simply walks in from out-of-frame. His extended death and Cartman’s meddling combined to weaken his Cult-of-Cthulhu-obtained curse (Kenny sort of became the son of Cthulhu because of that), so now he still comes back when he dies and his parents rebirth him a body each time, but he no longer _attracts_ death like he used to so he doesn’t die _nearly_ as often (only when the plot requires it). (I have a related headcanon about who does, and who doesn’t, know about Kenny’s deaths-and-returns, and why. I’ll post it only if someone asks.)

Only one character is my own creation, and he only appears in the first part. Among other things, this not only reveals who knows about Kenny’s deaths and resurrections, but it answers an even _bigger_ mystery about life in that small mountain town that its residents have been dealing with all along, yet nobody (including Kenny) noticed. I’ll type the rest up in Notepad so I don’t risk losing it again, then post it to you when I get a chance.

the reason kenny dies so much is because when trey and matt were kids there was a kid in a orange parka which muffles his voice and he was the poorest kid and he rarely came to school which made the class make a joke that he died
5:00 I do want to say, it has been implied kenny has multiple methods of coming back to life, he just always will, but not necessarily the same way every time (this explains all the inconsistentcys regarding that)
this is so simple on why they stopped this running gag in south park. because they were getting tired of the joke and wanted more character development for kenny. trey and mat parker even said that themselves.
2:45 Kyle: OH MY GOD!!! They killed Kenny!!! Stan: YOU BASTARDS!!! Me: “Whoo-hoo-hoo, look who knows so much. It just so happens that your friend here is only MOSTLY dead. There’s a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive. With all dead, well, with all dead there’s usually only one thing you can do. Cartman: What’s that? Me: Go through his clothes and look for loose change. Cartman: Well I can tell you for a fact that Kenny’s family is poor, so he doesn’t have any loose change.😊
Kenny Mccormick: Good thing I signed the contract, to spare my life with the black lantern Corp. While Grim reaper helped me with my unwanted death. :/
Maybe cartman can remember because during the succubus episode he had Kenny's eyes transplanted and those give him the ability to remember because he is seeing the death because of those eyes.
I think the Princess Kenny thing was because he wanted to take it easy and be doted on just for being cute for a while, there could be a little bit of gender fluidity there, though. Cartman cross dresses all the time by himself so I could see it more for him, he would love the attention and would be a really bitchy queen 😂
I'm rather curious how many times we had seen him die when his mom mentioned he's been reborn 51 times (she says 52, but his first birth isn't a rebirth).
His super attacks with the rats and unicorn are really powerful in SOT. Not to mention he's the only ally that has a chance to resurrect on his own, making him invaluable in tough fights.

Still cracks me up every time I hear the word because I think of that pronunciation.
Took me the whole first 5 minutes of this video before my dumb brain registered that the character with the pink earmuffs wasn't part of the show. >.
😂
the reason kenny dies so much is because when trey and matt were kids there was a kid in a orange parka which muffles his voice and he was the poorest kid and he rarely came to school which made the class make a joke that he died
Kenny didn't really die in the season 5 episode Earth Day. He just had his arms and legs cut off.
5:00
I do want to say, it has been implied kenny has multiple methods of coming back to life, he just always will, but not necessarily the same way every time (this explains all the inconsistentcys regarding that)
this is so simple on why they stopped this running gag in south park. because they were getting tired of the joke and wanted more character development for kenny. trey and mat parker even said that themselves.
I better not put off watching this, just in case UA-cam decides to nuke another one of your Kenny videos.
Imagine if "Kenny Dies" was the first episode of South Park you ever saw
Is it just me who was genuinely really sad when Kenny died in season 5 I was bawling cause Kenny was my favourite character
Do The Compmete Rapunzel Tineline next, Lydia!
0:24 best death scene, Cartman's shocked and confused reaction is priceless. lol
2:45
Kyle: OH MY GOD!!!
Is this a re-upload? Awesome video 😊 Going to watch it today in all of amazingness. Just feels familiar?
Hey Matt! Yes it is a reupload, the original was only up for 24 hours. But I added about 5 minutes or so to it, plus an extra kill I missed :)
@@LydiaLovesTimelines I watched and enjoyed this version too 😊
I love your videos so much keep up the good work woman
I loved the Kenny dying in the movie one. He's so CUTE!
I never made the connection that "They" were the creators of south park lmao
re-upload?
I feel like I've watched this before
Kenny Mccormick: Good thing I signed the contract, to spare my life with the black lantern Corp.
While Grim reaper helped me with my unwanted death. :/
I watched the original version many times and I gotta say this one is better!
Maybe cartman can remember because during the succubus episode he had Kenny's eyes transplanted and those give him the ability to remember because he is seeing the death because of those eyes.
I’m calling it: Kenny is gonna grow up to be a drag queen someday, and Princess Kenny is the proof.
Actually Kenny never died he is immortal
2:23 no rats in season one means he's not dead
I'm rather curious how many times we had seen him die when his mom mentioned he's been reborn 51 times (she says 52, but his first birth isn't a rebirth).
3:40 Wait didn't the D from the end fell and killed Kenny?
worst-stir-sure sauce, is how i remember it
I wish I could get a drawing of myself as a South Park character. Nice video.
Kenny was always my favorite of the 4!
Side note:
Kelly sucks. She toyed with Kenny’s feelings for most of the episode and it is a WONDER why people ship them.
The creators ran out of ideas to kill Kenny
5.13 was really painfull to watch.
4:15 "Absolutely tragic, but absolutely brilliant"
-Lydia 2023
Jesus Christ, but "Kenny Dies" broke me the first time I saw it.
like Lazarus it has returned from the dead
His super attacks with the rats and unicorn are really powerful in SOT. Not to mention he's the only ally that has a chance to resurrect on his own, making him invaluable in tough fights.
South Park Lydia is adorable :)
I feel like I'm having deja vu. I swear I have seen this video already. Is this a reupload or did someone just so happen to make something similar? I'm not trashing on this video, it's obviously very well made. I'm just saying it feels like I have seen it before.
Hey, it is re-upload 🙂 It was originally only up for 24 hours about 2 weeks ago but I took it down. But changed it a little, added about 5 extra minutes and included an extra kill
@@LydiaLovesTimelines Ah, cool. Thank you for the explanation.
Is this video a repost or something? I feel like I saw this already.
Is this a reupload or am I losing it
def not south parks cruelest joke, seeing as how cartman killed a kids parents made them into gumbo and made their son eat them as he is licking his tears.
He also did in a paramount+ ad
Honestly, Kenny is too good for the guys... heck, he's too good for he world!
Is it just Me, or does the Video end EXTREMELY abruptly for everyone?
@18:49 I can vouch for that. I've done that escape room in NYC
Oh, my god. They killed the outro.
Its crazy, I remember staying up till 11 as a kid waiting for the premiere, and I was obsessed with this show since, but I remember being so excited to see how Kenny dies in every episode, and when that Mr Hankey ep aired, I was so devastated that there was no Kenny Death, as I've aged, I still loved the Kenny deaths but I was more invested in the comedic brilliance of everything, and then when they explained Mysterions power
It was so nice to have an actual explanation to the years of pointless death 😅
I like Butters but he felt out of place with the main crew. Kenny was DEFINITIVELY the 4th member.
