Good morning from Scotland, we have an Elder tree in our back garden, which I believe to be about 80 years old, it is mainly a stump about 2 foot diameter, it has always been a short tree but extremely bountiful, unfortunately 2 years ago a contractor working in the opposite garden cut the tree to make his work easier, without our knowledge, so wee apologised to the tree for the harm that had been inflicted on it , it has since started to grow some new shoots and produced some flowers and berries last year , so hopefully we will get enough berries for some jam this year , blessings sent to you .
I hope you are now fully restored & well again Terri. As always a beautifully filmed video of the winter landscape- I particularly enjoy learning about all the ancient wisdom and folklore associated with plants & trees you share.
Thank you Teri for another interesting and informative film. I've been taking willow bark remedy for my hip bursitis being anti-inflammatory it's been very helpful. Thanks to for Lol's filming and the lovely music interlude ❤
Beautiful elder. I love my elders, including a dark variety with dark brown leaves. Thank you for your previous stories about trees and in particular the Rowan tree. I recently lost my nearest and partner in music, a very talented composer and songwriter, to lymphoma. Thanks to your video, I went and got a Rowan tree to put on his grave, just down from my garden. Bless. 🙏🙏🙏
I love my elder trees so much! The flowers are also delicious as syrup and as fritters. Wonderful for respiration issues.Thank you for the additional ideas and history!
Terri, this is a very informative video. I never realized how easy it is to propagate Elder. I like the idea to thank Elder for her medicine. I always say a prayer of gratitude over my kitchen garden when I'm weeding and harvesting. Good luck with your new herbal course. The frosting on your window is beautiful. My best to you and Lol, and have a blessed Imbolc. Looking forward to your next video. Blessings from Canada. 🍁
Already sprouting?! In january?! That's wonderful. In the middle of sweden the snow is waist high and the pemperature is minus 23... The quiet the snow brings and the truly wonderful landscapes it creates are so beautiful it takes our breath away every time we step outside.
Same here in the Yukon Canada, loads of snow and -24 today , no daffodils and since I was born and raised in the Netherlands I really miss the daffodils, snowdrops and crocuses
The frost painting is breath taking! Here our Elders are more like bushes. I finally have two growing in my garden. Wish I had started learning about all the wonders of the plant world years ago. I have always been drawn to it and nature but just now studying seriously. Throughly enjoying it now. I think today's weather requires 2 cups of coffee.😁 Cold and freezing rain.
The negative connotations comes from individuals who are not pro plant healing. In fact they probably have a bad connotation for all plants because they plain and simple hate plants. Keep doing what you do beautiful soul. Thank you for sharing. All Glory be To Our Heavenly Father!
Terry thanks so much for sharing your knowledge. Ive bought a special journal to write down notes.I love the practical and magical combination.Arent trees wonderfull!❤❤❤❤❤😊
@DanusIrishHerbGarden Thank you Terry.I live in Ennis,on the little walk to town by a big busy road there are a few beautiful big trees on a little patch of grass.I always greet them. There is one great big Tree that grows as 2 trees from the grass.I greet that tree as Gemini Tree( yes I'm Gemini. There is also a little circle of connected Trees.Im not sure if it is one or a few.I plan to clear out the rubbish and plant some bulbs soon.Im not strong enough to remove the tyre; but I thought maybe the flowers can hide it.Hoping people will stop dumping the litter when they see the flowers. Its just a tiny patch.Unless the council catches me!😉There's probably a law against it!But the Bees take precedence in my heart x
Elderflower makes a beautiful cordial/syrup & is very refreshing! When I lived in the New Forest there were local homemade wines, elderberry was my favourite. Look forward to hearing more about trees & medicine, & your book next month! Love & Many Blessings Terri, & Beautiful Ireland🌻🐞 Also a Beautiful January/Wolf Moon too🐝🐛
Hola! Thank-you for more gorgeous Winter inspiration! I live on 11 acres of magnificent live oaks, cedar, red oak, pinon pine, and all the other smaller trees living under the canopy. As a pro gardener, I don't have tons of money in the bank, but I am a billionaire in trees! The trees are worth Much more than money. Thanks for honoring them!
I’m trying to start more trees in my greenhouse to replenish the woods on the edge of our property after pests wiped a few out. Here predatory birds sit in them looking for a hunt over our flock, but we’ve also put several safe covers for the flock so we can still enjoy their company.
So nice to see the elder buds in January. Here in Ulster County NY, it is -12C. and windy . We won't be seeing any buds until March. Wonderful information about the Elder Tree. Thanks!

I’ve had a lot of struggles with respiratory issues for the past few months and mucus. This weekend I tried a tea made with elderberry and mullein, I sweetened with raw local honey, and drank a pot of tea morning and evening. Two days!! Only two days and I’ve noticed a difference!!! Thank you for all the wisdom you share with us on this channel!
Good to see you Terri! Thanks for this interesting history of Elder trees. I had an American Elder at my old house Before I could get back to get some cuttings the people who bought the house cut it down…broke my heart. I’m going to be planting one at my new place. Have a good week❤️
I continue to be fascinated and impressed with your videos. They’re so genuine, down to earth, not flashy, and truly natural. Thank you for putting out such lovely content-Live from Omaha, NE, USA

Absolutely loved this program, thank you. 💖 Coincidentally, I was just making a batch of elderberry/elderflower tea for our family right before watching this, with berries and flowers from Ukraine. Elderberry is truly magical and very potent medicine. In the U.S., we have a native elder bush. I had never seen an elder tree until I went to Scotland recently and saw a beautiful elder tree by Eileen Donan Castle, by Loch Ness. Peace be with you friend. 🍀
Thank you Terri for another great video. Storm here at the moment is quite bad. So many beautiful trees down around our countryside and thousands out of electricity. Hoping it soon dies down 😳 xx
I’ve never seen an actual elder until you showed it. I’ve had elderberry wine and cough syrup and it does help the throat and syrup.lovely view and knowledge and music ❤
Beautiful video as always. They always warm my heart as here it has been all ice, snow and chilling cold. Love elderberry for its medicinal and preventative properties and always make it in winter using dried berries. Birds love the berries too❤ Thank-you so much for sharing with us!!
Thank you for sharing this, I watched it on Odysee first - but it wouldn't let me leave a comment. Thank you for sharing how to propagate Elder (the gardening tips and herbal remedies help tremendously) - I will have to wait a bit to do it here, we just finally got snow - so it probably won't be gone until maybe May. Enjoy your weekend!
Thank you. I live in USA and there are lots of wild elderberry bushes all over but those are different from the tree you are talking about. I had to do some research, actually for fun too. Thank you for sharing all your information!
One of my favourites, the elder. I've taken later cuttings and they root really well in water too. Cheers Terri. Dafs already! None here, but the elder tree out the front of the house has leaves already and we have some purple crocuses - very cheerful in the snow, but getting a battering today now the monsoons are back.
Beautiful video, Terri. I love elder so much! It also works well in a makeshift steam tent (strong tea in a bowl of water that you lean your head over with a towel over the whole thing. For clearing head and chest congestion, or for pimple-y teens! I was taught to use elder flower with yarrow & a bit of peppermint leaf for this. I've always wanted to make elderflower cordial or wine, but have yet to do that. For now I use a small amount of the dried berries in my daily herb tea blend, for added vitamins. (And keep the dried flowers on hand for illness.) Blessings to you! I always love this peek into your beautiful corner of the world.
An amazing view of the frost icicles on your window at the start of your film today, is beautiful. Thank you for the valuable information about the Elder tree and how to use and propagate it, nice to see how it's done too, all the best Terri with all your endeavors, look forward to your next film, next week, all being well.
