Glad someone talked about it. No, it's not nitpicking. The suit is just a 6/10 above average. The new Rocksteady team just isn't as good as the old team.
Rocksteady aren’t actually the ones who made this suit. The developer of the Switch port was allowed access to the game’s assets and they just ported the suit in and upscaled the resolution. But yes I also agree that Rocksteady is not what they once were. The new Suicide Squad game shows that.
It was a suit that was never supposed to be added and was pulled from a different lower res version of the game. Like I’ll be the first to call out how rocksteady has had a significant change But considering when the switch version released and how long it would take to rework the suit in a version of the engine a lot of members of the team probably didn’t work with. I don’t really blame them. And the game is a almost a decade old
The problems go further than just the textures my guy. Batman literally does not cast shadows in this suit. It RECEIVES shadows from other stuff all right, but he does not actually have or cast any of his own. So he perpetually looks off, and sort of "half-lit". You can really see this by just going outside and looking down. You will not be able to unsee it. The suit is LITERALLY unfinished and has broken lighting. This shouldn't have gotten past QA

i got a feeling that this was exclusively for the switch version, but then added as an afterthought for the other consoles. it would make sense why its got lower polygons and texture work than the other suits. kinda a bummer, but honestly when i was playing this earlier today, i didnt even notice. i didnt take the time to look at it up close though in the showcase, but i did free roam a bit and beat some guys up and thought it looked nice.
They were so lazy that this suit is based on concept art. The orange parts for the wingsuit are yellow on the movie and he doesn't have a gun on his right hip. On early development he did, it was a gun that would fire sticky bombs but in the movie is just a pouch.
I do personally think Rocksteady will update the suit later down the line due to our feedback - possibly early 2024, after SSKTJL drops. We gotta have *HOPE*
Don’t give me hope because from what I’ve seen of modern rocksteady they really don’t seem to care considering they ported the switch version directly into the other version of the game. A modder has already fixed the suits textures and ugly grey colour and made the suit much more movie accurate. Rocksteady is just lazy if a modder can do it so can a Multimillion Dollar studio.
There’s a mod on pc that fixes the textures and darkens the batsuit giving it a more armoured look like the movie highly recommend getting it if your on pc. It’s crazy how modders put in more work then triple A companies now.
While that is true about modders putting in more work, I don’t feel that applies to this game as you can tell a ton of effort was put into this game. Yeah this suit isn’t the best example but look at the other suits and you’ll see this was a passionate project. Also keep in mind this game is damn near 10 years old so they probably were more focused on SSKTJL

I still like the suit, but yeah, it's kinda unfortunate that it's not as detailed/polished as the other suits in the game. As for the clipping..... it's weird as I don't think it clips but rather goes translucent in cutscenes. But as I said, it's cool that we've got a new suit and, as you said, would appreciate a patch that just increases the detail of the suit as it would look amazing if it properly fit Arkham Knight's lighting.
I saw the neck piece clipping issues when I was playing with this suit today. Also noticed the low quality textures, which is unfortunate. Something that I wish wasn't done was making his shoulders huge in comparison to the rest of the body. But even with those 3 nitpicks, it's still one of my favorite suits to use. I was kind of hoping they would've included the batmobile from the same movie, perhaps even Catwoman's suit as well. But that probably wasn't going to happen. Overall, I'd give the Battison suit a 8.5/10. Something that definitely would've completed the Battinson experience in Arkham Knight is an option to change the time of day to sunrise. There's a mission early in the game where you play as Jim, & the sky looks similar to how it did in The Batman movie. At the end of the movie to be more specific. So using that time of day with the Battinson suit would've definitely completed the experience.
I'm not really sure a suit with broken lighting that doesn't even cast shadows deserves an 8.5 out of 10. It's literally, objectively unfinished and it shouldn't be praised so highly

I still stand by an 8.5/10 because I've been waiting an entire year for it, it's in my top 5 favorite live action Batman suits & you don't always notice its issues. This is most likely due to them literally porting textures from the nintendo switch version (to avoid backlash for "favouring" the more powerful consoles with a better looking suit)

I don't think that's exactly the case. No one would blame them for having a more detailed version of the skin on more powerful consoles. Everything about the Switch port is far inferior to the other consoles. That can't be helped. I think you're right though that they probably simply transferred over the Switch version, but just due to time and laziness. I doubt that they were given much time to work on this. It was probably like, "we're adding this on the Switch port, might as well toss it on the other platforms".
Booted up my copy and went into the showcase to compare the graphical detail of the Pattinson suit to the other suits and yeah the difference is night and day. Every inch of the other suits have great detail put into them while the Pattinson suit looks rushed.
I think the reason why the Battinson skin is so low quality compared to the other skins that were made for the original version of Arkham Knight is because they made it with the Switch version in mind. Instead of building a high quality model that matches the other skins in the original version of Arkham Knight and then downgrading it for the Switch version, they did the opposite. They built the model in a way that's tailored to the specifications of the Switch (lower resolution textures, lower polygon counts, etc) and then just upscaled it for the other higher-end platforms. As a result, we have a Battinson skin that looks worse than the other skins in the game. Another issue with this skin is that it lacks shadows, and that's because the Switch version doesn't have shadows in the game. It carried over to the other versions when they ported the skin.
I don't know if this is due to Rocksteady having a skeleton crew and putting their focus on SSKTJL, Turn Me Up not matching the quality of the previous suits, or WB mandates or whatever, but this is inexcusable. The suit just isn't finished. Why delay the suit past the Switch release when it improves nothing from the original Epic Games leak? Here are some of the problems that I found that haven't been mentioned yet: -cape isn't movie accurate, as that folds on top of itself, but here it's a flat cover, and when gliding it doesn't look any different from a piece of paper -the shoulder pads clip through the cape, they're too big for it to cover, and that brings another issue in -the Arkham Knight default model does not fit Battinson's design. He's supposed to be more lean like Bale in-game, so the arms look too big -You can actually see Bruce's sideburns under the mask, just a little bit is exposed -the cowl itself is also really weird because the game treats it like a mask on Bruce's face instead of a physical helmet. It contorts with Bruce's expressions when he talks and it's so weird. I think the same can be said for the other suits, but it's far more noticeable here because Battinson's mouth opening is larger than the others. When they announced the suit would be releasing later, I thought it would be a month away for them to fix up the suit from the Switch version, give it better textures, fix the clipping issues, etc., but no. Nothing changed. I would be fine with no 2022 Batmobile if that meant the batsuit looks on par with the base game, but it can't even cast a shadow on the ground. Beyond disappointed with this update.
People are complaining that Rocksteady has no obligation to add this skin, it's a free gift, The game was released in 2015, It's not even sure that they are the same developers.
They definitely just designed this for the Switch and tossed it on the other platforms just because they might as well. They never intended to put the time and effort in to make it match the detail of the other suits, since that was never an option for the Switch.
I think you forgot that this is an Xbox One game. Not an X/S game. The entire game is low quality. The trilogy definitely needs a next gen update. Is true that the suit doesn't look the part compared to the other suits. But the entire game needs an update.
I wish the bat symbol was more polished, and that the collar was fixed while running and crouching, other than that it’s my new favorite suit in the game.
I reported the glitches to wb games, I suggest all of you do the same. IMO I think they’re gonna update it to be higher quality like the mod version of it
It feels like the suit was made for the nintendo and they just ported in to the other platform without patching up the details and texture. Even when looking at it roughly, you noticed the amount of shadow and lighting looks "lighter" compared to the other suits.
I very much appreciate it being a free addition…. But it IS so… SOOOO unfinished. Textures are terribly low quality, not to mention the other issues with lighting like the lack of shadows or the glitchy cape. Like they just took the Switch model and straight up loaded it into the main game without upping up the verts. I wouldn’t have minded paying a couple of bucks for a more finished product. If I recall, Batfleck’s suit was like 2.99… I don’t see a similar price for this suit as unreasonable.

It was Keaton and yeah, I totally agree with the price for a finished product (and adding in the batmobile of course). It's such a shame that this new Rocksteady didn't put in the effort to make the suit match the quality of the rest of the game.
Unfortunately it’s not the same team that made all the other skins to such a high quality to the point where you can see the veins in the skin underneath the fabric, most of that team have moved on and I don’t even think this skin was made by rocksteady, and if it was then it’s definitely a product of being rushed as Rocksteady themselves said it takes them 3-6 months to make a suit
3 to 6 months for each suit ? Then the game would have came out in 2047 not 2013. So how much years takes them for creating a table model on the game ? 2 months ? What about a building ? 3 years? So the whole map should take them 189 years to make. I'm glad we will finally have Arkham knight in 189 years. Yay ..... Ok now seriously dude , a friend of mine that models on 3D creates amazing models in just a couple of days , he is one person not even a team. So you are dead wrong about how much time takes to model. Lol
@@danielcastaneda4975 i mean it’s literally what rocksteady said regarding the Dark Knight trilogy suit so take their word for it, plus you’re assuming that meant 3-6 months for one suit alone, not multiple people working on multiple different models at once, it probably took them around that time to make every suit in the game, finish it, polish it, test the rigging, and make sure every one of them works within the game as intended
Yeah reason textures piss poor because this skin wasn't made by Rocksteady but by the Switch version devs, this skin was ripped from the Switch version.
We just need to hope that rocksteady fixes this soon, but hopefully Suicide Squad KTJL won't disappoint (even if it has a battle pass...) Edit: It was a major disappointment

the neck part of the suit clips into the cape when you sprint goes to show how unpolished it is. Also clips when you dodge, punch, or do a cape attack so unfinished.
One of my problems with the suit is how it's scaled up. Robert Pattinson isn't particularly a big guy, like how Affleck is. So his suit isn't like jacked big. It's more like riot gear. But Arkham Batman is huge, so his suit has to just as huge

It's even more annoying because they accidentally leaked the suit over a month prior & it looked good for something that wasn't finished but the recalled it anyway to apparently make it look more finished by the time of the intended release & it releases absolutely unchanged... This is exactly how it looks when it leaked so what improvements did they make? I see none!
I believe too that we have to keep in mind that most of the development crew is working on suicide squad. So I imagine that they just had a skeleton crew that worked on this

Don't even get me STARTED on the cape for this suit dude. Not only does it not have the pleats that the cape in the movie has. But its just incredibly flat and looks (like the rest of the suit) super bad
The only thing rlly off for me is the the color it’s a little more grey than black and I wish they would have used a smaller build like the 2008 movie suit to be more movie accurate.
I wouldn't be surprised if the port team put the suit together for the Switch version. It really doesn't have the little details Rocksteady puts into their models. The suit probably also had a lower texture budget with the Switch being the target specs.

It was to sell the quick cash switch port. Like previously, movie skins released at such higher quality WITH their batmobile. Meanwhile Patman looks like, well like something that could run on the switch. And he got delayed for other platforms for 2 weeks after the switch port release. Plus no batmobile. Just a serious lack of care or respect for the previous standard set by the series.
What I really don't like about it is the fact that he shouldn't be so bulky with it. the 2008 suit is skinnier and it fits, but this one for me just felt weird in that cbum body
The Pattinson suit was always kinda bulky. Ironically, Bale had more muscle than Pattinson, but looked leaner in his suit because of the design. Pattinson's suit just has a heavier armor. You hear it loudly when he walks.
Doesn’t bother me tbh. It’s a 2015 game that’s last content update was in 2016 adding a suit from a movie that’s not even 2 years old yet. If that means I gotta have a little less detail to have Battison in the game then so be it. They could’ve easily have just left this suit as a switch port exclusive.
I was playing with this suit and in game. It has problems that go beyond looking kind of cheap. It doesn’t have the core fundamentals that other suits have. For example, if you go into the main store with any suit, it doesn’t matter which one just any suit whenever you turn on detective mode, your eyes will turn white, that does not happen with this Batman suit. Also, whenever you do a video call it, his eyes don’t have like that static E texture.
I mean it’s better than it not being released at all, I’ll say that. Maybe they’ll patch the textures in a future update for the consoles but wanted go get it out for the Switch and didn’t want to make console players feel left out. If that’s the case, I think dealing with a lower res stand-in during the meantime is a good compromise.

I am rather disappointed with it. When it was accidentally released early, I was hoping they released a lower quality version that was more designed for the Switch. Wishful thinking. Modders on PC have fixed a few of the most glaring errors. But it shouldn't be down to the community to make a fix for a limited number of players. Looking at it, I get the impression the suit was made by the dev team who have done the Switch port, or Rocksteady devs who simply weren't working there during Arkham Knight. The care and attention Rocksteady are known for simply isn't there.
To me the batman suit is still cool i just think when i wear the robert patterson suit in arkham knight i think im watching the batman 2 but with jason todd joker in his head and robin and harley quinn
Love how you chose to compare it to the only other suit in the game that has a visual bug on any version of the game you play. I have several copies of Arkham Knight and the 2008 skin’s stupid shoulder pad glitch is present in every single version.
I did compare it to two other suits later in the video, but the purpose of it was to compare the fidelity of the suits. I was also unaware that 2008 suit had an issue with the shoulder pads until just the other day

i like the shoulders. it shows that it's the arkham version of battinson. the christian bale suit looks so wierd because the shrunk the shoulders

Booted up my copy and went into the showcase to compare the graphical detail of the Pattinson suit to the other suits and yeah the difference is night and day.
Every inch of the other suits have great detail put into them while the Pattinson suit looks rushed.
Its sad because Its one of my favorite suit 😢 rocksteady don't give a shit now WE already have to wait TO 15 december and its not even good 😠
I think the reason why the Battinson skin is so low quality compared to the other skins that were made for the original version of Arkham Knight is because they made it with the Switch version in mind. Instead of building a high quality model that matches the other skins in the original version of Arkham Knight and then downgrading it for the Switch version, they did the opposite. They built the model in a way that's tailored to the specifications of the Switch (lower resolution textures, lower polygon counts, etc) and then just upscaled it for the other higher-end platforms. As a result, we have a Battinson skin that looks worse than the other skins in the game.
Another issue with this skin is that it lacks shadows, and that's because the Switch version doesn't have shadows in the game. It carried over to the other versions when they ported the skin.
I don't know if this is due to Rocksteady having a skeleton crew and putting their focus on SSKTJL, Turn Me Up not matching the quality of the previous suits, or WB mandates or whatever, but this is inexcusable. The suit just isn't finished. Why delay the suit past the Switch release when it improves nothing from the original Epic Games leak?
Here are some of the problems that I found that haven't been mentioned yet:
-cape isn't movie accurate, as that folds on top of itself, but here it's a flat cover, and when gliding it doesn't look any different from a piece of paper
-the shoulder pads clip through the cape, they're too big for it to cover, and that brings another issue in
-the Arkham Knight default model does not fit Battinson's design. He's supposed to be more lean like Bale in-game, so the arms look too big
-You can actually see Bruce's sideburns under the mask, just a little bit is exposed
-the cowl itself is also really weird because the game treats it like a mask on Bruce's face instead of a physical helmet. It contorts with Bruce's expressions when he talks and it's so weird. I think the same can be said for the other suits, but it's far more noticeable here because Battinson's mouth opening is larger than the others.
When they announced the suit would be releasing later, I thought it would be a month away for them to fix up the suit from the Switch version, give it better textures, fix the clipping issues, etc., but no. Nothing changed. I would be fine with no 2022 Batmobile if that meant the batsuit looks on par with the base game, but it can't even cast a shadow on the ground. Beyond disappointed with this update.
People are complaining that Rocksteady has no obligation to add this skin, it's a free gift, The game was released in 2015, It's not even sure that they are the same developers.

We should make a petition for Rocksteady to patch the suit up as an update.
Hope they make it look better in another patch.
They definitely just designed this for the Switch and tossed it on the other platforms just because they might as well. They never intended to put the time and effort in to make it match the detail of the other suits, since that was never an option for the Switch.
I think you forgot that this is an Xbox One game. Not an X/S game. The entire game is low quality. The trilogy definitely needs a next gen update. Is true that the suit doesn't look the part compared to the other suits. But the entire game needs an update.

I wish the bat symbol was more polished, and that the collar was fixed while running and crouching, other than that it’s my new favorite suit in the game.

It feels like the suit was made for the nintendo and they just ported in to the other platform without patching up the details and texture. Even when looking at it roughly, you noticed the amount of shadow and lighting looks "lighter" compared to the other suits.
I very much appreciate it being a free addition…. But it IS so… SOOOO unfinished. Textures are terribly low quality, not to mention the other issues with lighting like the lack of shadows or the glitchy cape. Like they just took the Switch model and straight up loaded it into the main game without upping up the verts.
I wouldn’t have minded paying a couple of bucks for a more finished product. If I recall, Batfleck’s suit was like 2.99… I don’t see a similar price for this suit as unreasonable.
The Batfleck suit was actually free. Same with the 2008 skin

It was Keaton and yeah, I totally agree with the price for a finished product (and adding in the batmobile of course). It's such a shame that this new Rocksteady didn't put in the effort to make the suit match the quality of the rest of the game.
Unfortunately it’s not the same team that made all the other skins to such a high quality to the point where you can see the veins in the skin underneath the fabric, most of that team have moved on and I don’t even think this skin was made by rocksteady, and if it was then it’s definitely a product of being rushed as Rocksteady themselves said it takes them 3-6 months to make a suit
3 to 6 months for each suit ? Then the game would have came out in 2047 not 2013. So how much years takes them for creating a table model on the game ? 2 months ? What about a building ? 3 years? So the whole map should take them 189 years to make. I'm glad we will finally have Arkham knight in 189 years. Yay ..... Ok now seriously dude , a friend of mine that models on 3D creates amazing models in just a couple of days , he is one person not even a team. So you are dead wrong about how much time takes to model. Lol
@@danielcastaneda4975 i mean it’s literally what rocksteady said regarding the Dark Knight trilogy suit so take their word for it, plus you’re assuming that meant 3-6 months for one suit alone, not multiple people working on multiple different models at once, it probably took them around that time to make every suit in the game, finish it, polish it, test the rigging, and make sure every one of them works within the game as intended

Yeah reason textures piss poor because this skin wasn't made by Rocksteady but by the Switch version devs, this skin was ripped from the Switch version.
We just need to hope that rocksteady fixes this soon, but hopefully Suicide Squad KTJL won't disappoint (even if it has a battle pass...)

the neck part of the suit clips into the cape when you sprint goes to show how unpolished it is.
Also clips when you dodge, punch, or do a cape attack so unfinished.
One of my problems with the suit is how it's scaled up.
Robert Pattinson isn't particularly a big guy, like how Affleck is. So his suit isn't like jacked big. It's more like riot gear. But Arkham Batman is huge, so his suit has to just as huge

bales suit is skinny the shoulder pads are matched to the base body there is no fix without completely reworking the base model

It was released for the purpose of the switch version because when I first saw it, it looked like it was for the switch I believe they will update the suit to look more black than grey and not like a switch player

It's even more annoying because they accidentally leaked the suit over a month prior & it looked good for something that wasn't finished but the recalled it anyway to apparently make it look more finished by the time of the intended release & it releases absolutely unchanged... This is exactly how it looks when it leaked so what improvements did they make? I see none!
I believe too that we have to keep in mind that most of the development crew is working on suicide squad. So I imagine that they just had a skeleton crew that worked on this

Don't even get me STARTED on the cape for this suit dude. Not only does it not have the pleats that the cape in the movie has. But its just incredibly flat and looks (like the rest of the suit) super bad
Shame it seems they made it for the switch and ported it over to the others :( sad time I think we will get the Batmobile at some point though

I wouldn't be surprised if the port team put the suit together for the Switch version. It really doesn't have the little details Rocksteady puts into their models. The suit probably also had a lower texture budget with the Switch being the target specs.
Bro why is nobody talking about the fact that why did they not update or remaster to the PS5 not only for graphics but also especially the ps5 controller vibration feedback seriously this game is perfect for this main reason its makes me so made that they have not even tried to do so even though i understand its not easy but they have done it for arkham asylum and arkham city for ps5 but not for arkham night that to me IS ALOT OF BS and the cherry on top. It pisses me off because this is the last audition or role playing of kevin conroys voice aka batman to me its extremely disrespectful that its still outdated graphics and controller even though they had plenty of time to move this game to next gen 😤 hopefully one day it possible becuase really it the only way disregarding the 2022 batman suit that i really feel like wanting to play the game all over again😤😪

It was to sell the quick cash switch port. Like previously, movie skins released at such higher quality WITH their batmobile. Meanwhile Patman looks like, well like something that could run on the switch. And he got delayed for other platforms for 2 weeks after the switch port release. Plus no batmobile. Just a serious lack of care or respect for the previous standard set by the series.
What I really don't like about it is the fact that he shouldn't be so bulky with it. the 2008 suit is skinnier and it fits, but this one for me just felt weird in that cbum body
The Pattinson suit was always kinda bulky. Ironically, Bale had more muscle than Pattinson, but looked leaner in his suit because of the design. Pattinson's suit just has a heavier armor. You hear it loudly when he walks.

It’s a 2015 game that’s last content update was in 2016 adding a suit from a movie that’s not even 2 years old yet. If that means I gotta have a little less detail to have Battison in the game then so be it. They could’ve easily have just left this suit as a switch port exclusive.

I was playing with this suit and in game. It has problems that go beyond looking kind of cheap. It doesn’t have the core fundamentals that other suits have. For example, if you go into the main store with any suit, it doesn’t matter which one just any suit whenever you turn on detective mode, your eyes will turn white, that does not happen with this Batman suit. Also, whenever you do a video call it, his eyes don’t have like that static E texture.
So the issue here is that it’s a switch port to everything else. They need to do another patch just to update it for last gen tech.

I mean it’s better than it not being released at all, I’ll say that. Maybe they’ll patch the textures in a future update for the consoles but wanted go get it out for the Switch and didn’t want to make console players feel left out. If that’s the case, I think dealing with a lower res stand-in during the meantime is a good compromise.
On free roam its not that light, its actually darker and dont notice much, its awesome enough, atleast we got the suit im happy about it

I am rather disappointed with it. When it was accidentally released early, I was hoping they released a lower quality version that was more designed for the Switch. Wishful thinking. Modders on PC have fixed a few of the most glaring errors. But it shouldn't be down to the community to make a fix for a limited number of players. Looking at it, I get the impression the suit was made by the dev team who have done the Switch port, or Rocksteady devs who simply weren't working there during Arkham Knight. The care and attention Rocksteady are known for simply isn't there.

Love how you chose to compare it to the only other suit in the game that has a visual bug on any version of the game you play. I have several copies of Arkham Knight and the 2008 skin’s stupid shoulder pad glitch is present in every single version.
I did compare it to two other suits later in the video, but the purpose of it was to compare the fidelity of the suits. I was also unaware that 2008 suit had an issue with the shoulder pads until just the other day
