No need to feel sorry lol We got people who grew up in this era listening to mumble rap music I was born in 98 and I'm listening to old school hip hop24/7 more vibeful and better flows
Early 90s was like a hurricane. It was hard and didn't last long. I appreciated the the late 90s but when the 91 to 93 sound changed I missed it. So much style in just 1 decade. The 90s. They should make a 90s hip hop movie. And it must have 3 sequels. Seriously. Maybe then this generation would understand how dominant that era was.
0:07 Nice & Smooth, 0:26 Fat Joe, 0:42 Gang Starr & Lil Dap, 1:04 Diamond D, back when NY was all together and holding it down instead of what's happening today...
imma a kid of the 80s and i came up listening too everthing from Run Dmc to L L Cool J Krs-1 to Public Enemy, all kinds of rap music from 1984'' all the way too 1989'' And then the 90s came Eventhough the 90s was the begining of Gangsta Rap and the rise of the WestCoast Rappers, Songs like this by Showbiz And AG always make me remember the 80s!
To be sincere I'm jealous of people who were like 17 or older during the 1990's. You guys are lucky man. You guys saw 2pac, Biggie Smalls, Nine, Smoothe Da Hustler, Showbiz & A.G., Big L, Big Pun, Nas, D.I.T.C, Pete Rock & C.L. Smoothe. I could never imagine this joint on T.V., or 2pac on T.V. or Big L, or Pun, or Nas, or Biggie. You people are soooo lucky.
When this came out it was the freshest thing ever. I think it was the catalyst towards a more boom bap thuggish style that grew in force as the early 90's went on. I don't know how it sounds today to new ears, but to mine it will always sound fresh and exciting. Great cameos in there from Nice n Smooth, Fat Joe, Gangstarr and Chi Ali!
Word, word. This was the new sound at the time, you hear low end theory and it's definitely more boombap than instinctive, etc. And gotta love the cameos, haha.
So many dope cameos in this video. I remember walking in Skate key in the Bronx and this would be playing while i was getting my skates. That Bass loop. You knew it was gonna be a good time. Damn hip hop, i miss you.
Man this is my first time seeing this! My mans played this tape after we finished Marine Boot camp in 91; had all of Mississippi bumping it - REAL HIP-HOP!!
💎Dee one of the dopest producer ever! DITC! AG and Show Biz dope AF! Love this song! I was 16 years old and I so lucky to be part of this legendary era! Fat Joe, Bronx Legend!
DITC...damn, 22 years and this joint still holds up...Big up Greg Nice and Smooth B, Fat Joe, Primo and Guru(RIP), Diamond D and Lil Dap! Showbiz and Andre the Giant...act like you know!
This is "the song" where the "beat and the MC/chemistry" went with each other perfectly for this duo. They both bounced in sync in "this particular song". Yes..."the quotations" mean what u think, or the group would've charted better afterward. Don't be "mold" (mad & old)
I was 20 years old in 1992,,, & I use to go to a club called the "MUSE" in NYC Manhattan,, & this song brings me back to that time & era, because they stayed playin that shit in that club back then !!!, im so glad I was in my 20's in the 1990's,, it was a fun time for the Night Club era with REAL HIPHOP goin on in there !!! :D
I was 19 going to the MUSE and Soul Clap was I heavy rotation at the club. On certain nights, different boroughs ran the spot. But when Soul Clap came on, brothers fdom Uptown and The Bronx, morseo The Bronx went wild. Thanks for the memories of the Muse.
You ever since I was a young buck...that line....I love hip hop not rock n roll..stuck in my head and of course that beat...also enjoyed see all those cats camios

This is real hip hop that you actually dance with a girl on the dance floor.... Instead of nowadays when all people in clubs do now bounce and hold up the wall....
YO ONE THING I MISS ABOUT THE EARLY TO MID 90S IS THAT THE VIDEOS WAS BASIC VIDEOS AND SHOT OUTSIDE AND THEY SOUND AND LOOK BETTER THAN THE BULLSHIT THAT'S OUT NOW, EVERYBODY GOT THEIR TIME AND FAVORITE IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE 90-93-4
It’s 2024 & we are still here!
This was when hip-hop was really really dope. I feel sorry for people that didn't grow up in this era.
