City car driving is a relatively old game (with bad driving physics) but it is more enjoyable than this "unfinished" game. I hope there will be some bug fixing patches because it would be a really good game.
You are so right. City Car Driving may only be a passable driving simulator these days but it has so much more content, far more character and is just generally more polished
The small part of Munich included in the map (mostly Schwabing) is actually very well designed and as close to reality as it can get in a game. I know because I live near the MaeWest ("The Vase"). Might be fun to race around your hometown at ridiculous speeds, but 35€ is a bit too much for the current state of development...
Nice review. However, in my opinion, Aerosoft needs to get it together a bit. A lot of the games cause a lot of hype for the release, but it ends up getting “mostly negative” reviews. It’s pretty much always the same.. they make a game, release it way too early, never finish it and sell it for an extremely ridiculous price. I was excited about this game until I saw the reviews.. also, why does every game from theirs require a NASA Supercomputer to run? This game has potential, but knowing Aerosofts history, it will just be another overpriced game that never gets finished..
Steam reviews, although not many, are terrible. However, seeing how long city car driving has been around and how many updates it has had, I do have faith that one day this will be a decent experience.
I reckon they will update it for a few months, but in all likelihood given the history of the publisher Aerosoft this game will be dead and forgotten by next year

Once you started complaining I was rushing to mention it's early access but... the store page doesn't say that anywhere. However it does say "Close to reality vehicle physics" which is hilarious since the vehicles feel like they're driving on ice, just like in Forza Horizon 4. To me it seems like a team of greenhorns thought they could make the next big thing just because their game is running on UE5.

You cannot have a true driving simulator without a decent physics model. To quote the developers this game is supposed to have "Close to reality vehicle physics, graphics and sounds". It clearly does not.
@@SimulatorAdventures It's a traffic simulator. No need proper physics. It gonne teach you to use rules and to drive in traffic. BTW no RACING SIMULATOR has a "decent physics", and may there will be no one ever, just a simplified version of what we know about ohysics.

I have high expectation of this game but still "City Car Driving" still remain as a king of car simulation, modelers made amazing job on cars and cars interiors but graphics are not everything...
Nice that I could listen to German public radio on this game xD The car interieurs are really detailed. I know Aerosoft from Fernbus Simulator, and that game runs horribly. Even with way less detail, it was capped at 30 FPS on a 1060 and is now chugging along at 60 with my new 6700XT.
Have a hard job understanding how anyone would pay to pretty much try out what feels like an early tech demo that would be provided for free, to show what they are working on.

Hi. I wonder if you know how to reset the Accelerator pedal settings? Mine are messed up in the Axis config settings. There isn't a easy reset to goto default settings. So now my pedals work backwards 😅 nightmare. To accelerate I must lift my foot ofd the pedal. 😅
Tesla Simulator's a bit touch and go. You leave it running while you make a cuppa and when you get back the PC's on fire and it ran over the cat. Allegedly.
Thank you for the review! Did you play on an SSD? I noticed that some games have problems loading map areas fast enough when the game runs on an HDD which can cause lags or stuttering like in your video.
Honestly I expected the game to be cheaper. It has potential, but cars and map are very limited. 7,50€ for a single DLC car? No thanks, as you said CCD is more polished despite being older. It also has thousands of mods, I even made my own one. Still the worst thing to me are min specs of the computer to run the game. Damn, I thought that my GTX 1060 and my i7 4790 weren’t that bad.
Those minimum specs are ridiculous for most people! A 1070 as a MINIMUM is one of the highest minimum specs I've ever seen, and this is definitely not a AAA title.

I'm not quite sure what you mean, but the city can't be changed. There are no special modes for driving practice unfortunately. For that I would recommend a game called "City Car Driving" which has driver training missions.

Seems to be a funn game, i'll check it. The problem with City car driving 1 is that it's too repetitive after some hours of playing. With this game, I like that you can park the car and walk with a person and complete some missions like going to a restaurant etc... Anyway they are already creating/ finishing creating the City car driving 2.0 and it seems that they improved the graphics from the previous game. Still i hope some DLC comes with it like Spain traffic signals or something like that. Hmm with this game they should add some kind of penalty system when you dont follow traffic system or something, just like it happens in City car driving, or even in Euro truck simulator 2, where you lose money.

It's not possible to change the map unfortunately. I would recommend a game called "BeamNG.drive" I have videos on it here on the channel. Its super realistic and has detailed, if slightly smaller maps set in America and Europe or wherever you can imagine.
City car driving is more realistic and much better since they mainly focus on realism and driving school. As for the graphic you can always use reshade 2023 or 2022 version to improve the graphic.

You could try City Car Driving for a driving test simulation, or BeamNG for more general driving. It's probably the most realistic driving simulator you can buy, I have many videos on my channel
The vehicle diversity on the street is very lacking. They obviously didn't add any traffic only cars, which wouldn't be a problem if there were like 4x more cars to drive.
Ow on earth did you get your wheel to be recognised in the game, I have a Logitech G29 wheel with pedals & shifter, but whenever I try to calibrate it in-game, the game for whatever strange reason doesn't even recognise my wheel. How did you get your wheel to work in this game?
I refunded it straight after I made this video so I don't really remember. I didn't have much trouble getting it to "work" but most of the buttons didn't function and the force feedback was non existent
Nice vid , but my question is , this game is like similar to real life ? Like If I take my feet off the clutch too fast the car stalls? How accurate is this compared to real life?
Looks like a good mix of pretty good and deal-breaker awful. The cars seem good, the interiors are interactive, the doors can be opened. But it is really alpha version quality. No VR/head tracking or decent FFB. The game pauses at random moments - that'd annoy me enough to uninstall it. The HW requirements and the price are not justified in any way. The map is tiny, looks way smaller than the CCD maps. The engine sounds are very far from realistic. "Other car AI" seems worse than city car driving, too. Hard pass for me. Good effort in some areas totally ruined by not enough work on the essential parts. They managed to flop in a niche with hardly any competition.
This game looks very cool but its absolutely not worth it imo. I wss expecting it to be a few quid, but £30? The map isn't that big, the vehicles are limited especially without DLC, decent ish graphica but also limited features... Yeah i won't be purchasing this game.
The price cannot be justified by anything I've seen in the game. It doesn't have anywhere near enough content for even £15 imo. Also the lack of polish suggests this game won't have much progress in terms of updates any time soon

The game does have potential but I think they've wasted it by rushing this game out at such a high price. They will struggle to recover from this.

Driving simulator doesn't mean focusing on physiics it teaches you to learn and follow on-road rules.

There is modding support, not for maps I don't think. The workshop is slowly filling up but to be honest it's very early days

Yes I did, I loaded the game onto an M.2 SSD specifically the WD Black SN850. This game is just badly optimised I think

City Car Driving is fine, just it's very dated. A more realistic game would be BeamNG but for any of these you need a steering wheel really

It's not that accurate. The car will stall but the clutch and gearbox system feels awful

Looks like a good mix of pretty good and deal-breaker awful. The cars seem good, the interiors are interactive, the doors can be opened. But it is really alpha version quality. No VR/head tracking or decent FFB. The game pauses at random moments - that'd annoy me enough to uninstall it. The HW requirements and the price are not justified in any way. The map is tiny, looks way smaller than the CCD maps. The engine sounds are very far from realistic. "Other car AI" seems worse than city car driving, too. Hard pass for me. Good effort in some areas totally ruined by not enough work on the essential parts. They managed to flop in a niche with hardly any competition.
I miss the g27 layout so much. Especially the shifter

This game looks very cool but its absolutely not worth it imo. I wss expecting it to be a few quid, but £30? The map isn't that big, the vehicles are limited especially without DLC, decent ish graphica but also limited features... Yeah i won't be purchasing this game.
The price cannot be justified by anything I've seen in the game. It doesn't have anywhere near enough content for even £15 imo. Also the lack of polish suggests this game won't have much progress in terms of updates any time soon

this is amazing, but not much competition for this game, ccd 2.0 will be exciting , i used to play ccd for a long time hours upon end back in the day
