      I had and still have very similar feelings. For over 20 years Colma has been there for me in more ways than I could have ever imagined. No matter what mood I'm in or struggle...good, bad and everything in between. I'm always ready to feel Colma. Near the middle of the track Machete, before I learned why Bucket made Colma, I always felt an intense emotion of loss and yet a soaring release from that pain simultaneously. I love you Buckethaed

    Buckethead is great. I love that he expresses his affection for his family in his music. And good for him growing up in a loving home. His dad, being a football coach, doesn't seem like the type to appreciate the weird, eccentric nature of his son's music and his Buckethead persona. I would have guess guess a "jock" dad would be disappointed by an avant-garde artist son. I especially appreciated it because my dad was a mean S.O.B. who got angry at me if I listened to Led Zeppelin, Van Halen and the like (not even loud...just listening to it). He would threaten to kick my ass if I didn't get my hair cut really short. Seeing stuff like this makes me happy. If I couldn't have a loving father at least others did.

    • @NatterNet
      @NatterNet  5 років тому +10

      Thankyou, friend. Yeah man Bucket's dad seems a super cool guy and much loved. Him tapping that table and wearing a leatherface mask always makes me smile. As you said, not all dad's are dad's, some are mean, bitter people. As long as we don't grow up to be like those mean ones then they will never win. Woo!!

    "My story below"
    I'm a long time fan of guitars and tech stuff. A big Rush fan attending about 30 Rush live shows since 1977.. ( Even saw Zeppelin in 77' ) Can't believe I had not heard of Buckethead untill UA-cam placed one of Big B's Soothsayer vids into my recommended list about 1 year ago after the 2018 tour. I was an immediate fan ! I went to my first Buckethead show at the Cleveland agora in 2019 tour and it was unbelievably good ! I'm actually going tomorrow May 16th 2019 in my hometown to see Big B for the second time on this same tour. I honestly believe he's one of the most gifted artists of my time. So much so that people may not "get it" they don't understand what they're hearing or seeing. Kind of like an old late 60's video of a brand new rock group called led Zeppelin and the fans would just be sitting there in puzzlement. They simply weren't ready for this new age of Rock and Roll & didn't understand enough to know that they were in the presence of history in the making. Buckethead is like this in the purest sense of the form. Buckethead has a way of imparting his emotions through his talent in an amazing way. It's such a rare gift. Words cannot do it justice because he does this without speaking any of them. Thank you Buckethead !
    Update : 5/17/19 After last night's show in my home town.. this is become my most favorite experience in all of my concert attendance ! At 57 years old I was able to do the toy exchange directly with Buckethead himself. I received a hot wheel car toy in exchange for the gift of a little Patric playing guitar bobble thing that Big B graciously accepted. What a super fun night ! And a wild ride through bucketheadland it was such a blast !!👍🎢

    In some ways this sort of explains one of reasons that Buckethead is the creative genius that he is.
    Anyone who grows up with loving supportive parents has the best chance to accelerate concentration and focus into whatever subject or activity that they choose.
    50 yrs old, Ha, he is ageless especially since his commitment to character.
    I'm a fan of Buckethead the musician, the live performer and the humanoid that inhabits his robot outer shell.

    Buckethead is not only the greatest guitarist ,but also the greatest musician. He also has an unbelievable soul who gives one hundred percent of himself in his recordings ,and live performances.
    He has reached a musical level that continues to skyrocket to the heavens. He uses his God given talents to the absolute maximum that a human can possibly do, and keeps his family dear to his heart. I think that explains why he can connect with them still.

    For those of us who have followed Bucket long enough, we knew of his love for his parents and were saddened by the news of his loss in the form of a Pike. How fitting that one of his best Pikes ever is the one he dedicated to his mum after she passed. That Pike was like the perfect farewell... 'Er' is like his mum's spirit is slowly ascending to heaven while he watches, saying goodbye without words but with a ridiculously phenomenal solo that we as fans were blessed with.

    When i first started noticing all the positive references to his parents (and aunt Suzie) it made me realise how rock musicians almost never do this. It seems its more 'rock n roll' to say you had it tough growing up and your parents didnt support you. Bucket does things his own special way and we love him for it. And how wonderfull that his tribute to his mum just happens to be one of the best 30mins of guitar rock ever created. NYC 4 ever indeed. Woo !

    • @NatterNet
      @NatterNet  4 роки тому

    Whenever I hear any of BH's songs about his parents, no matter what mood I'm in, they bring me to tears. It's clear that every note is played with deep love and respect, and that he misses them dearly, and you can really feel that in the music. It's heart breaking how much he misses them, but heart warming to hear their memories preserved in such a beautiful form.

    Buckethead is a very surreal and soulful guitar player and artist to ever exist. Today, we see modern artists bending over backwards to please their audience, and becoming a puppet to the music industry by doing whatever their higher-ups are wanting them to do. But NOT Buckethead. He always wanted to play what HE thought was cool. He never cared if anyone listened to his music or not...he put out his own music, which he liked. He never begged to anyone or wanted anyone's opinion. Buckethead is a soldier who marches on the beat of his own drums. That's an EXTREMELY RARE quality to find nowadays. Hence, Buckethead got a crazy fan following now. All thanks to the great values taught to him by his parents Thomas and Nancy Carroll. We thank you for making Buckethead, who he is today. A GOD in true sense. And, a very Happy Birthday to main man Buckethead himself!! May you live a healthy and long life and keep making phenomenal music. Here's to 50 more years! Much Love and Respect from your Bucketbot from India :) CHEERS !!

    This video evokes so much thought, almost makes me cry. I miss my dad as he had passed when i was 10, and my mom is still alive and has shown an extreme amount of support toward so many of my ambitions. this video really makes me happy to have had such great parents, it reminds me and im sure many others how great the bond between child and parent can be. I know this video was from three years ago so maybe you won't see this but thank you NatterNet, this channel is such a treasure that words fail me when trying to think of how lucky we bucketbots are to have a channel like this, thank you for the wonderful content you provide :).
