sorry if you were already aware, but I just wanted to mention that umma gumma is not a dragonfly, but a damselfly! the backwards angled wings and face shape is what made me notice. I searched it up to confirm and yep, damselfly! dragonflies and damselflies are in the same order, but different suborders. for example, primates are divided into two suborders: wet nosed (lemurs and bushbabies for example) and dry nosed (great apes and humans for example). an important distinction I think! not sure if there is anything you can/want to do about that but I figured a heads up might be useful, even if just for viewers who are curious about the new species. love this video, very excited about all the newly discovered species!! thanks for all your hard work.
@OliverParsons-r2u It's honestly too much to get into in UA-cam comment sections,,, I'd suggest you look it up. In summary, major plane crashes because Trump fired a ton of flight regulators/managers, DEI has been rolled back (so people are being fired), anything mentioning gender/sex/inclusion/diversity/gender neutral words has been removed from government databases, federal payments have been blocked (medicaid/student financial aid, and so much more).... and thats just the surface. It sucks so live here right now :D.
@OliverParsons-r2u Orange man is very literally disassembling full departments and programs that are aimed at helping people, along with numerous other shitty things. Every day.
8:50 working in diabetes research i would be highly surprised if the finding is anything else than: "people who eat dark chocolate conciously and avoid sugar and fat live overall healthier lifes"
Even then numerous studies show any and all chocolate has high quantities of heavy metals like cadmium, and mercury. Also questionnaire studies are the literal least trustworthy studies that exist.
Saturated Fat doesnt cause issues tho. Seed oils and margarine like shit cause issues. Saturated fat being bad is a proven to be wrong theory. It came out in 80s with some idiot with poor study practises and debunked dozens of times over and over again. Still since all statins and aterosclerosis drugs depend on this particular study (Since they dont even work so they need some standing) drug companies still push the idea. Statins cause diabetus and increase aterosclerosis in long run btw(short term effect are due to anticoagulant effect). Fda guidelines makes you sure that you gave a person who got a heart attack statins for a lifetime basically so they can make more money out of it despite it lşterrally worsens patients condition.
As a german I am a bit offended by the uk leading with clean energy. We still have coal powerplants tho, but last year we managed to have 60% of our used energy be renewables
Embarrassingly have great swathes of our wind farms turned off because the UK grid lacks capacity to manage high volumes generated in peak winds and has little in the way of storing energy
The dark chocolate and diabetes thing might be a reverse cause and effect. It might not be that dark chocolate reduces diabetes, but simply that someone who eats dark chocolate doesn't like sweets in general.
Thank you! I like you keeping it realistic and taking the time to explain things. There are no stupid questions if someone doesn't know the awnser! And it's easy to confuse things like correlation and causation. It's good to make sure things are clear! And be open, honest and rectify if you do make a mistake or if something turns out diffrent. Learning something doesn't work is also good news!
ohhh, in your sources, when you're using news articles it would be really cool to see an icons like from ground news with it to see if you use left, right or center leaning sources! and how wide it is being represented across the board. Though this may only be intresting to me 🤪
You can make seawater drinkable. I've had some on a freighter which was in the docks of Rotterdam. It was pumping that horrid water from the harbor and after cleaning it, it got stored on the ship. They told me that system did that also when they were on the ocean. Thus never a shortage of water. And the water from the facet tasted good.
9:45 what do you mean unclear? Replacing something high in sugar with something low in sugar in your diet causes less diabetes... do we really need a new study to know this?
The way I saw it was not eating the dark chocolate wouldn't reduce or increase the odds of getting diabetes. So why does eating dark chocolate make the odds go down by 21 percent? Could be wrong but it sounds like it isn't just about eating less sugar but something in dark chocolate or maybe coco specifically that defends against diabetes?
Great channel, you are an enthusiactic presenter, pleasure to listen to you. I'm not keen on presentations using computer generated voies. Good luck to the channel.
Same here. I appreciate real people and real voices. It's more authentic and pure. Anyone who uses AI to create content is lazy, boring and uninspiring
Such a needed and refreshing change from the main stream media insanity! As they say, if it bleeds it leads. This is a great source of hope and I can't help but think it would be wonderful if we were motivated by good news rather than fear.
I want to live in a word where nations boast about their nature conservation achievements, high living standards and breakthroughs in science and space exploration. Thank you guys for the video.
Love hearing about Good News Thank you Regis & Co for all your hardwork. Great to hear about new found species we share the planet with, I don't know how they come up with and decide the names of the species, but that sounds like a fun job.
You asked, and I don’t want to rate all of the important positive news that you cover, but I believe most people need to learn more about the long-running improvements in renewable energy such as the closure of oil and gas plants because of the replacement by solar and wind. These take decades but are incredibly important to reduce our dependence and set us in the right direction
There are only three events that could bring me additional happiness. That is to say, glorious happiness beyond the more "normal" and nominal happiness I've possessed for most of all of my terrestrial existence. Unfortunately, there are absolutely ZERO signs and zero chances that these three things could ever become realities. :) Therefore, I've no choice but to accept the basic and rudimentary happiness which I already possess.
@MrFrionnel why then had the presenter broken stride, and referred to fossil fuels as "non-renewable"? Nuclear power is (today) "non-renewablle", although breeder reactors might update the designation. If you are discussing fossil energies: why not be candid and honest about it?
@@philipb2134I think the point is mostly about fossil fuels and pollution, in which nuclear afaik is *very* clean in terms of carbon etc. pollution so classed off on its own. He's probably also using the same classifications as the source data but with explanations condensed down into what fits in a video segment.
If it helps prevent you from eating sugary sweets, then yes. Aside from that, it has a lot of vitamins and minerals, but also usually heavy metals, so who knows. Exercise moderation.
The reasons for the decline of energy use is really sad... I don't know what there is to be happy about with a family suffering from not being able to buy food because of energy price.
Maybe an unpopular opinion here but I'm nit rejoicing about the installation of new energy production systems - even renewables ! Because sadly more energy produced means more energy consumed, and producing energy has ALWAYS an environemental impact and require lands and usually lots of fossil energy to make the energy plants and manage their waste, even the "best" energy sources. The only energy that has zero impact is the energy NOT consumed. So I long for the day we rejoice to the closing of energy plants because our societies learn sobriety of usage, efficiency etc in order to acheive a DECREASE in energy consumption, hence production. Today, no energy has replaced another on the global scale - the worlds keeps consuming more and more energy, especially electricity, for questionnable usage. I'd be happy to have good news about the rise of housing thermic renovation, of taxes on fossil fuels especially the fuels for plane and boats, none about bio-fuels (fake good idea) etc. Not saying that it is not good news when we open a greener energy plant, although it should be in perspective. Closing a coal, petrol or gaz plant is muuuuch better, and much rarer. For ibstance at 1:00 showing the graph : what is the annual consumption of the UK in 1990 and in 2020 let's say, in value, all sources of energy combined ? I'm curious now ! 😊 Thanks for the overall goodwork. I'm just pointing out ways to make it even more informative.
Fantastic videos, not too happy with the sponsors and subscribing and stuff. I know UA-cam videos don’t pay much. But yeah giving people positive vibes does it really need to become a money machine?
Why was the birth year of the Ghanaian VP included randomly? It seems like an odd detail to mention since it's not relavant(at all) to her being the first female vice president. Did A.I. write the script?
I imagine it is because the sentence directly after that statement is that she has been dismantling gender norms for a very long time. being born in 1951 would make her 74, which indicates that after a lifetime of campaigning for her rights, she has achieved an incredible role in history! [: I reckon the birth year being in the script makes perfect sense.
I know it seems horrifyingly dire, but there are small wins happening everywhere. even with the situation in the us being what it is, there are still people fighting the good fight! people who care. I may not be american but I'm rooting for the us. it's going to be extremely hard but I believe they've got this.
Not to be the bearer of BAD NEWS but i would take the chocolate study with a big grain of salt since as far as this video mentions: there is no "no chocolate" control group

Topic 1, approx 0:56 - why don't renewables plus non-renewables add up to 100%?
It's not counting Nuclear (not renewable but also not fossil) and might not be counting biomass (renewable but debatably not low carbon)

Depends on the solar farm - sheep and crops are often paired with solar. In addition, there is rooftop solar and solar over parking
