I know, keeps repeating it. I watched it when it came out in the 90s and it really wasn't any emphasis on the gay subject matter of the film being its main crux - it was just a nice story. I was thinking maybe alot of people still were uncomfortable with that subject matter in the 90s or something which is why the interview was a bit awkward/odd. I just don't think there would be questions nowadays as America has come leaps and bounds with representation of diverse characters in film comparatively (still alot to be done tho).
