7:53 Just had the thought of how many times in their marriage Harry was like, “That Valentine, though…” Or when the kids humiliated themselves over a crush and Harry was like “You will never be as cringe as your mom was this one time. I mean, this one time for like two years, but it was this Valentine’s Day in particular…” 1:11:55 because Riddle is an arrogant narcissist and Lockhart is an insecure narcissist. The one who doesn’t believe his own hype is harder to believe and his lies are easier to spot.
Hey brother, I have a theory why Percy was being so secretive about his dates with Penelope. We know he is a fifth year and at the end he gets 12 owls. According to you guys he is bound to have a time turner. So I think that he was using the time turner to get the time for the date. So basically one Percy is in Griffindore common room studying whereas other Percy is on a date with Penelope. He keeps it so secretive so that no Griffindore sees him first in the common room and then in some other place in the castle. The reason to choose the dungeons is because Griffindore hates Slytherin and no Griffindore will go there
Interesting, but I doubt it. In Book 2, Percy would be in 6th year. He would have dropped a few classes after OWLs exams, so he would no longer have a timeturner, according to SCB theory.
As many things as Hermoine got right, she got in the way of so many solutions as well because she refused to accept Harry’s and Ron’s opinions and theories. Also, if people would just get to the point when talking to each other, so many problems would already be solved. If Sirius had just told Harry that Peter killed his parents instead of saying that he did because he blamed himself, so much trouble could have been avoided. Also, if he could sneak into the school, he could leave a note for Lupin saying that Peter is alive, Harry has the map, check it.
I have a few theories as to why Ginny waited so long to ransack Harry's room: 1. Still influenced by Tom's charm, perhaps she was afraid to "confront" him. 2. Fear of being caught. 3. Fear of being possessed again. 4. As she poured her soul into it, she feels a longing for it. 5. Tom Riddle, somehow, managed to get her to steal it again. And it took 6 weeks for him to gather the magic to pull it off.
Yeah I thought it was kinda like a drug for her or even an abusiverelationship... she didn't like herself when she had the diary, but there were continued intrusive thoughts, and eventually, she felt that she needed it back more than she hated having it around.
Hey brothers, I haven’t been watching this channel for a while but I figured I’d drop in to say something. You guys helped me so much when I was going through the worst moments of my life. You made me smile you made me mentally active and you just kept me happy in my most time of need. This is clearly not about the video but I just wanted to say thank you for helping me through those months sadness.
Interesting... I also think there's some fury in there too with Justin gone he has to see more of Zacharias Smith. That'd make anyone unreasonable and p/off.
So I've made this comment on a previous video, but just wanted to confirm that Voldemort's name is Tom Elvis Jedusor in french to spell out Je Suis Voldemort. Also wands are called Baguette Magique (not sure on that spelling) And I'm pretty sure that in the book, Draco does comment to Ginny about Harry not liking the valentine's song, to which I do have to wonder how he would guess it was from Ginny in the first place
Adding this comment to your newest video bc I'm not sure how often comments are checked. I was listening to y'alls podcast on the way home from work when a sudden thought occurred to me: I know that children who suppress their magic will become obscurus. But what happens to adults who have had their wands snapped? One would think that they could continue to work on wandless magic, but not everyone can achieve that. So then, what happens to the poor sods who are magically repressed? Are they doomed to a long, drawn-out death/transformation into an obscurus? What measures have been put in place by the Ministry to prevent such occurrences, if any? Long-time follower (since at least 2016), first-time commentor, I absolutely love the videos y'all make!❤
The reason the Basilisk keeps saying "tear, rip," is because he WANTS to to rip and tear. But Tom Riddle is ordering him to kill by sight. Bassie is just in the walls complaining lol
My headcannon is that the Diary is important because it's the first time he pulled off the Imperius Curse on a Muggle, making them buy the diary and he takes it from them.
You guys forgot something about the Anglia: on the first night, as soon as they were clear of the Whomping Willow, the car spit the boys and their belongings out and noped off into the forest, completely of its own accord. Thus, even before reaching Hogwarts, it had at least a self-preservation instinct, if not some degree of sentience.
What if Tom received the diary as a gift? Maybe from before he knew he was a wizard and went to Hogwarts? The fact it has his full name stamped into the cover. Also gives some significance to Auntie Mabels birthday, a woman who worked at Wools Orphanage? Years later at Hogwarts he uses it to plot a diabolical tribute to Salazar Slytherin's noble work. Myrtle's death was a bit of a surprise to him and using diary in creation of horcrux symbolic as it happened by accident right at the entrance to Chamber of Secrets?
A friend he had when he was very little….. Horcrux’s can possess people. I wonder if the one inside Harry was able to communicate with him imaginary friend style as a child.
Day 8 of asking can you do a video where the Potters survived? The scenario I'll make up is when Voldemort breaks in, Instead of killing James, he tortures and used the paralyzing spell on him and makes him pass out and plans to finish him off later when Harry is dead because as Snape said, he likes waiting for his enemies to beg for death before killing them. Upstairs with Lily, the same thing basically happens except Lily misses the curse and falls on the ground. Harry still gets the love protection and Voldemort still loses his body because Lily was prepared to sacrifice herself for Harry. We saw this in Deathly Hallows when Harry's protection from sacrificing himself stopped Voldemort from torturing Neville when he stood up, Even though Harry didn't die.
Knowing Hagrid, if Dippet confronted him about the monster, Hagrid will immediately come clean and try to convince him that Aragog is harmless. Which is, sort of, an admission of guilt.
Quick correction after the fact. It was Stephen Fry that can't say Harry pocketed it, not Jim Dale. I am sure this was mentioned before now, but I'm not scrolling through all the comments lol also, I do disagree with the theory of Filch being a poltergeist because he would have always been at Hogwarts, but we know there were other caretakers before him. Anyway, that's the end of my ramble. Great episode as always, gentlemen!
Stephen Fry is hilarious, haven't had pleasure of listening to this version. Also agree Filch can't be a Poltergeist, although his very existence does seem cruel otherwise. Not sure if it's canon but as Dumbledore entrusts him to restore Fat Lady (plus he succeeded without magic) that Filch is an expert in ancient artifacts, hired in a curatorial role not just a caretaker. As he's so unpleasant, hates kids and mess, maybe mopping up after students keeps him busy and gives him something to winge about other than Peeves? But overseeing the preservation and upkeep of the castle and it's artifacts requires a trained curator yet something a Squib could manage with occasional magical assistance from other staff.
Hey brothers, your podcast is such a delight. My sister often played them in her car when we had a long drive to our parents and I've finally gotten around to binging them in the correct order. A question I wondered about is: why did Snape call Lilly a mudblood in his memory, even though she was trying to help him? my personal theory is that Snape had told Lilly of the levicorpus spell. James then uses it on him, and he believes she's the one who told James about the spell.
The basilisk definitely had a heat blast of some sort in the first draft I think it was just cut out before the final draft of the book I remember reading those parts as a kid and being so confused in the end when there was no fire powers
My theory of Snape's potion book is that the spells inside it are wholly Snape's invention. But the potioneer insights inside it are Lilly's. Slithering and Griffindore both take potions at the same time. Lilly was the standout potioneer, according to Slughorn. I think Snape watched Lilly as she prepped the potions and made notes about the process in his book. Dumbledore kept Snape as the potion master, as a means to remind him of Lilly. Snape passed this treasure on to her son because at the end of that very year, he had to kill Dumbledore and knew he wouldn't be around after that.
I think it's fantastic that they have painted separate images about Luscious and Draco both pacing in an area mulling over a diary, back and forth. I wonder if they know.
Anyone else think... newt had a sidekick. One who was in live with him and it was unrequited. Hagrid may have got his fascination for 'interesting creatures' from his dad, who became friends with Bunty. Connection over love of animals and being lonely. Aunty bunty gives little rubius a baby acromantula at his dads funeral to help him grieve. Anyway that's my head cannon kids. Valentines... anyone else a fan of the dramadore series? Drunk Minnie and dumbledore send Lockhart one from his hair... it's one of the 46 cards, and there's gotta be one in there from himself.
The only reason time travel feels predestined in Prisoner of Azkaban is because nobody tried to break the sequence. Read on Pottermore, Eloise Mintumble caused people to be unborn(essentially vanishing them from existence.) Also, I do not believe that Myrtle could have told anyone who or what killed her. She says all she remembered was yellow eyes and then nothing.
I believe Newt had Aragog because he saved him. Someone might've illegally bred Aragog and the spider might've been sentenced to be put down, but Newt saved him. As for how Hagrid got him, Newt would probably only trust a non-human person with Aragog. That or the two bonded.
Ginny, at this point, is an eleven-year-old girl with a serious crush. By the time she is 13 even, certainly by the time she is 14, she must be hoping that nobody ever thinks of her singing valentine - especially Harry.
I don't think Ginny was in Myrtle's bathroom to "destroy" or chuck Riddle's diary down a toilet... Ginny was there to open chamber and actually foiled an attack. It's almost Valentine's day, the last attack on Justin and Sir Nick was awhile ago. We know from Riddle that Ginny's lapses of memory and robes covered in rooster feathers she began to suspect diary. What if she'd been resisting Tom's control over her past few months? More to the point, on this day Ginny fights off Tom's possession as she comes out of trance in girls bathroom, realizes what's happening then hurls the diary into Myrtle's toilet in act of desperation as she runs away. Cue Harry and Ron, also Harry only has the diary a short time, trying to escape Ginny's singing Valentine his bag rips and she sees diary. Ransacked boys dorm to find it and almost immediately unable to resist Tom's possession and Hermione's attacked with Penelope. Also enjoyed the tiny hints of Ron's crush on Hermione throughout CoS, from his disdain for Lockhart, literally barfing up slugs to defend her honor and how upset he is when she's prettified. Thanks so much for this podcast what a wonderful way to comb over entire series. Will you be touring the Midwest eventually too?
is the line about the eyes and the toad in Ginny poem a subtle clue for harry to find out it is a basilisk, it is probably just foreshadowing but still, could be cool to think that ginny was desperately trying to help it all stop…
For my money, while Tom is exerting an influence on Jenny she in also exerting a counter influence on him through her stolen life force. Thus Tom as Jenny is writing an embarrassing love note to Harry XD
I forgot about the crossbow, could Hagrid have shot and killed Voldemort after Voldemort killed the horcux in Harry? Could anyone have just killed Voldemort after that? The idea of Hagrid shooting Voldemort with a basilisk fang crossbow bolt is metal and I want to see it. 😂

Also likely fearing for Harry and Ron by proximity, knowing by now what Tom is capable of and steals it back to protect them. #4 especially, by this point the peice of soul is likely so connected to Ginny she probably didnt even need to open or write in diary for Riddle to flit in between the Horcrux and Ginny to posses and control an 11 year old girl.
Glasses number 1 why can't the Wizarding world correct vision with magic and number 2 glasses have a magnification aspect to them so maby myrtle didn't see it directly seeing it through the glasses but the effect was magnified the petrifcation effect that killed her cuz the basilisk did not eat myrtle
In next chapter 16 it always bothers me that Ron doesn’t keep Lockhart’s wand. Coming from a wizard family and growing up with The tales of Beedle the Bard, he should know that winning’s or stealing a wand means getting its allegiance. And since he can’t use his /percy’s old wand, (why doesn’t Percy still use it?) he should have just kept it.
I would guess he's not thinking about his wand being broken; he's just thinking about stopping Lockhart. Also, if he had Lockhart’s wand later, Lockhart probably picks it up in the Chamber later on and uses it to cast the memory charm, which means it doesn't backfire, so it was a good thing he didn't keep it.
If Harry Potter wrote the Harry Potter books, does that mean Gilderoy was The Chosen One destined to die to Voldemort? Did Harry write a child as his annoying teacher?

Another great omnibus guys.
I did know Stephen fry did but I was going oh Jim dale too? 😂

Love these compilations! Thanks
I read it that Ernie was talking politely to Harry because Ernie was scared of Harry and didn't want to upset him.
Interesting... I also think there's some fury in there too with Justin gone he has to see more of Zacharias Smith. That'd make anyone unreasonable and p/off.
I think the narrator is Dudley, reading the Harry potter books to his kids 🧐😂
The “reasonably” refers to the tone; he's trying to reason with her. It says right after that that he had said the wrong thing.

The book that nobody can put down and does everything one handed sounds like a muggle cell phone addiction, tbh
😂 ❤it
May the 4th be with You

1:03:42 wait wait wait imagine ginny wrote it but Fred and George FOUND it and later sends it (kind of like a twofer.. embarrassing them both)
My headcannon is that the Diary is important because it's the first time he pulled off the Imperius Curse on a Muggle, making them buy the diary and he takes it from them.
Ooooh interesting. I'd just assumed it was a donation xmas gift to the orphanage some sort of tax write off from the news agent
Omg I saw this when it was 13 seconds old!!! I love your channel so much!!!
3:39:09 thanks! Now I am imagining that movie basilisk in a kitchen with an pink apron and really annoyed with the petrified meal he made again. 😂

Love the supercuts!!
Ah yes lemon my favorite flavor of candle. Lol love revisting the chapters waiting for sunday
1:04:20 just sayin', dashing Draco with his jingle bells sweater loves carols and songs 👀

Aragog: I would never kill anyone out of respect for Hagrid!
Also Aragog: Oop, here I go killing again! Goodbye, friends of Hagrid.
I was in choir in high school, and we had to take shifts singing during the Christmas lunch cycles
Awesome!
It's not love it is obsession 2:34:18
20:31 wormtail isn't hair raising at all since Voldemort has no hair LOL
Your set needs a moving portrait in the background.

The time travel test isnt gonna be a thing cuz when time travel does exist the lower class will never be able to use it.
Snape likely abandoned the book because he memorized it all.
I think it's fantastic that they have painted separate images about Luscious and Draco both pacing in an area mulling over a diary, back and forth.
I wonder if they know.
2:28:15 I’d imagine Dumbledore read Hagrids mind and that’s how he knew they were there.
Please check out Operation Olive Branch and the Pass the Hat trend!
I told you guys this years ago with the jim dale audio book you can tell earlier baout voldys soul bit in potter...

I'd looooove to see a "what if" Draco slowly and secretly becomes friends with the trio starting in 2nd or 3rd year.
I kinda wish I'd found you guys 4 years from now..
Gandalf has fire power, Dumbledore does too!
I believe Newt had Aragog because he saved him. Someone might've illegally bred Aragog and the spider might've been sentenced to be put down, but Newt saved him.
As for how Hagrid got him, Newt would probably only trust a non-human person with Aragog. That or the two bonded.
i have to ask are you going to have a tea for Boston?
Ginny, at this point, is an eleven-year-old girl with a serious crush. By the time she is 13 even, certainly by the time she is 14, she must be hoping that nobody ever thinks of her singing valentine - especially Harry.

It’s Ginny..
@@brendans.9515 I was trying to work out who Jenny was. Thank you I now realise it must have been a mistake.
so I just came into a very late realization while it's super obvious that Hagrid and Voldie were batchmates. WOAH.
I ran into a pole reading Stephen King or Tolstoy or something in 3rd grade 😂
The TVA would fix any time problems.
Perhaps perhaps Riddle helped Ginny write her poem to Harry.
You guys got there nvm 😎
I forgot about the crossbow, could Hagrid have shot and killed Voldemort after Voldemort killed the horcux in Harry? Could anyone have just killed Voldemort after that?
The idea of Hagrid shooting Voldemort with a basilisk fang crossbow bolt is metal and I want to see it. 😂
1:16:00
@iRazenrak All of these are great theories! As a book marketed to children its amazing how many REALLY bad themes are glossed over. Like the fact Lockhart is the definition of a serial predator! Yet somehow his character is written as a comic releif... Ginny's horrific experiances are even less apparent to the reader.
In a way its Ginny's ultimate fear that Tom will spill her secrets to Harry that i think wins out over the rest.
Where is Chapter 16 today?
I'm sure Aragog knows about Harry Potter, he just doesn't care.
Am I the only one who wonders what the Dark Force Defense League was up to during the Wizarding wars?
Picturing a neighborhood watch in superhero consumes out in force to fight crime and put a stop to HOA violations 😂

What if james cast sacrificing protection
Hey I think a cool video you could do is ranking the least likely to most likely Harry Potter theories to be true
If Harry Potter wrote the Harry Potter books, does that mean Gilderoy was The Chosen One destined to die to Voldemort?
Did Harry write a child as his annoying teacher?
Comment appreciating your use of the word "snoot" in an unHarry Potter related tangent. Much enjoy 😁
What if Harry was a obscurus????
It's
If Snape was using love as occulemency, Voldemort would notice it. That's why he recoiled from Harry.
Snape shows Voldemort false memories
Also I believe Snape mastered Occulmency on Voldemort's commands as it seems the high ranking Death Eaters all know it, AND incase James Potter ever learned Legimency and used it on him.
