This was a glorious journey. I can't wait for you to start DIU. Want to know a feelsy fact? The ending and opening sequence was a hint to who would die. In the opening, it was the sequences as to who would die in what way- during the ending it was because Kakyoin, Iggy, and Abdul were on the other side of the Nile river in their placement. The other side of the Nile is associated with the afterlife and the dead. Also- when it came to Dio turning to dust- just casually walk up to the bag, then shake it out. Just to make sure.
Hey Ken, congrats on finishing Part 3! Been looking forward to this for a really long time now. Couple of cool things I want to point out that you may have missed. In the opening, each of the silhouetted scenes was foreshadowing one of Part 3's signature scenes. Abdul pushing Iggy and Polnareff forwards with the steps underneath Polnareff moving back, Kakyoin standing on the tower, each of his strands breaking simultaneously, a knife pointed at Joseph's throat, the finally many knives pointed at Jotaro, with his hand twitching slightly. Additionally, in the ED, you can see Joseph looking solemn on the train, holding only three train tickets, and then the Crusaders by a river, with Jotaro, Joseph and Polnareff on one side; Kakyoin Abdul and Iggy on the other. I'm a huge fan of the openings and closings in JoJo. They hit that sweet spot in which they foreshadow so many things, yet are impossible to decipher unless you already know what they represent. Now you've finished Part 3, I'd highly recommend you watch some of the analysis videos others have made if you're into that kind of stuff. Again, thanks for recording these. Never thought I'd find myself rewatching all of Part 3, yet you somehow managed to make me do it. I'm with you all the way dude.
It's funny when you mentioned that The World would have the previous stand's abilities combined. Because Araki (Jojo's creator) original idea for The World was exactly that! He decided not to use it though, since he wanted to continue the manga afterwards.
To make one thing clear, at 1:04:17, they didn't ever use this because, think about it, they were always in VERY CROWDED PLACES. The flame detects LIVING things, not Stand Users. It would do nothing in a crowded place, because it would only tell you "Yes, there is people around". Not all that useful really. But here, it IS helpful, because nobody is around.
I just realized Jotaro's words (about grabbing and pulling someone down while they just about to reach the surface) is allusion to DIO's life after part 1: He literally got off from the bottom of the ocean with Jonathan's body, gained lots of followers, acquired an invincible Stand. He's the strongest and he's about to rule everything, to ascend, to go beyond all limits... to "reach the surface" aka his ultimate goal. But he got too high and underestimated his opponent, and then he was pulled back all the way down to the bottom and died in shock, still unable to believe what just happened. His life sucks from beginning to end, but he deserves it lmao
The Polnareff & DIO at the stairs scene is hilarious in hindsight, because every time Polnareff took a step, DIO stopped time, walked down to him, _carried him down a couple steps, ran back up, and then _*_resumed his exact pose_* just to screw with his head.
My man Ken finishing part 3 it was a hell of a ride but now we move towards the next bizarre adventure. Also vanilla ice's stand was named cream. thus vanilla ice cream. Also dio's stand was originally supposed have all the powers of the other stands but was changes due to how broken it would have been. I recommend somestuff subs for part 4 it has better translation with the actual names. since part 4 has a lot of music references and crunchyroll changes the names due to copyright issues. anyway sorry for the wall of text I enjoyed your reactions and will look forward to more.
the whole schtick with Joseph not being a vampire in my personal interpretation is that Hamon/Ripple users' bodies just reject vampiric influence totally. Say if you were to transfuse Dio's blood with Kakyoin's, Kak would most likely be a vampire as he has no experience with Hamon whatsoever

Dio's stand isn't entirely breaking the laws of physics. Theoretically, time stops when you are moving at the speed of light and because the world and star platinum are both extremely fast, it could just look like they can stop time, then again probably not.
Perfect Kars is absolutely immortal, even now he still loves. He is just lost in space. Yes DIO is one of the strongest characters in Jojo, but he doesn't compare to perfect Kars. Even with time stop, he wouldn't be able to do anything.

The other side of the Nile is associated with the afterlife and the dead.

Hey Ken, congrats on finishing Part 3! Been looking forward to this for a really long time now. Couple of cool things I want to point out that you may have missed. In the opening, each of the silhouetted scenes was foreshadowing one of Part 3's signature scenes. Abdul pushing Iggy and Polnareff forwards with the steps underneath Polnareff moving back, Kakyoin standing on the tower, each of his strands breaking simultaneously, a knife pointed at Joseph's throat, the finally many knives pointed at Jotaro, with his hand twitching slightly.
Additionally, in the ED, you can see Joseph looking solemn on the train, holding only three train tickets, and then the Crusaders by a river, with Jotaro, Joseph and Polnareff on one side; Kakyoin Abdul and Iggy on the other.
I'm a huge fan of the openings and closings in JoJo. They hit that sweet spot in which they foreshadow so many things, yet are impossible to decipher unless you already know what they represent. Now you've finished Part 3, I'd highly recommend you watch some of the analysis videos others have made if you're into that kind of stuff.
Again, thanks for recording these. Never thought I'd find myself rewatching all of Part 3, yet you somehow managed to make me do it. I'm with you all the way dude.
It's funny when you mentioned that The World would have the previous stand's abilities combined. Because Araki (Jojo's creator) original idea for The World was exactly that!
He decided not to use it though, since he wanted to continue the manga afterwards.

I just realized Jotaro's words (about grabbing and pulling someone down while they just about to reach the surface) is allusion to DIO's life after part 1: He literally got off from the bottom of the ocean with Jonathan's body, gained lots of followers, acquired an invincible Stand. He's the strongest and he's about to rule everything, to ascend, to go beyond all limits... to "reach the surface" aka his ultimate goal. But he got too high and underestimated his opponent, and then he was pulled back all the way down to the bottom and died in shock, still unable to believe what just happened.
His life sucks from beginning to end, but he deserves it lmao

The Polnareff & DIO at the stairs scene is hilarious in hindsight, because every time Polnareff took a step, DIO stopped time, walked down to him, _carried him down a couple steps, ran back up, and then _*_resumed his exact pose_* just to screw with his head.

I recommend somestuff subs for part 4 it has better translation with the actual names. since part 4 has a lot of music references and crunchyroll changes the names due to copyright issues.

The most acceptable theory is that Joseph's body has hamon in it, that's why he didn't become a vampire
the whole schtick with Joseph not being a vampire in my personal interpretation is that Hamon/Ripple users' bodies just reject vampiric influence totally. Say if you were to transfuse Dio's blood with Kakyoin's, Kak would most likely be a vampire as he has no experience with Hamon whatsoever

Dio's stand isn't entirely breaking the laws of physics. Theoretically, time stops when you are moving at the speed of light and because the world and star platinum are both extremely fast, it could just look like they can stop time, then again probably not.

Perfect Kars is absolutely immortal, even now he still loves. He is just lost in space. Yes DIO is one of the strongest characters in Jojo, but he doesn't compare to perfect Kars. Even with time stop, he wouldn't be able to do anything.

Joseph after being revived he shows Hermit Purple with hamon aura, and uses that to exthinguish the vampire essence inside him
