This ain't no simple list of games, this is what you need to know to make your setup work and stay working!
FYI, I figured out a work around if you ever have trouble with Amiga displaying on the wrong screen. You can MASS edit config files with a program called Notepad++. This did the trick.
Question I'm new to emulation and recently bought a polycade arcade which is dope and downloaded the coinops next. My question is what are the PC spec requirements especially to run windows or games on windows. Currently I have 16 ram and looking to upgrade to and ryzen 5 3600 and look at upgrading my video card
You don't need a ton for emulation or Coinops. I'd say you have it covered for 95 percent of what you'd want to do my friend.

Nice "intro" into next, i want to add that you can change the name of the launchers in "launcherswindows" folder to anything you want, then on each collection folder inside the settings.conf is a line that says Launcher, there you need to put the exact name of the launcher you want to use for that collection in particular, and you can even use a particular launcher for just one game, creating inside the colleciton a folder called "Launchers" put a file called like the "name of the game".conf and inside that file, put the particular launcher name that you want to use and that game will launch with that launcher instead of the default of settings.conf. Its not hard.
When they say unofficial packs you just have to put everything where it belongs. I have added so many and figured it out. Yes the layouts might not be the same but you can work around that or even create your own backgrounds by editing the system_artwork in Photoshop or if you would like for each background to change when selecting a different game you would have to create a folder called cabinets and place it in the medium_artwork folder. So when you create a background in Photoshop just place it in the cabinet folder and remember to name it the same file name as the game you want it for.

How to you put arcade games in the favorites tab of the Coinops front end? just got a system and trying to figure it all out .
It's one of the buttons set up by default. I think if you use say an Xbox 360 or above you'll find the button you need...otherwise you'll have to go in and change from the default.

Thanks, can you help. Running coinops legends 2 bit wars I changed a setting in a Wii game graphics from hardware to software hoping it would smooth out the video but now I cant load any wii games so I cant get back in time change the setting back. seems
Sorry man, I haven't fooled with the newest version. I can recommend the Coinops discord..those guys know their stuff.
One last note coinOPS is not a front end but merely a theme for RetroFE frontend. Had to mention again due to everyone is not aware of this.
I wouldn't agree with that actually. The Coinops staff works meticulously on pack for the Next 2 brand, preconfiguring controls and settings for thousands of games. Also, while the Coinops Next 2 package sits over RetroFE, it does go beyond it's functionality.

Great Vid! Im having trouble pairing 2 gamepads at the same time, is it bc they are different brands? (one xbox one gamepad and the other is a cheap chinese one, both of them work great for single player, but as soon as i connect both the games just dont respond, the only thing that works when both are connected is the coinops menu) Does anyone have the same problem? Im running next 2 basic with a couple of packs.

I can't get any of the Sega Model 2 and Sega Model 3 games to work, and I I'm using Coinops Next. Funny thing is when I'm running Batocera, all the Sega Model 2 and Sega Model 3 games work just fine. Also the same thing happens on the PS2 as well.
Cannot find how to do this with the new Retro Arcade 2. Can you make a video for this new pack?
noob question. is there a way to play with 2 controllers?
I have an arcade cabinet using zero delay encoders. Mapping mame is easy by using tab and assigning controls to whatever you like but I can't figure out how to map the coinops front end. Xbox controller on my desktop works fine but I need to map the cabinet. Any ideas?
Coinops has a built-in feature that resets your controls when you turn it off. If you consult the docs there's a way to disable this feature.
@Amigos Retro Gaming Do you know what the correct path for pc games add on is? For the launcher that is. It loads but comes back to the front end like you said. Thank you

Amigos Retro Gaming one more last question. I have the executable path correct for the pc games launcher txt file. I think the argument variable is broken referring to the argument line with in the same pc games txt file....or I need to type the argument? I have a feeling that is just a broken variable or need to put my own variable for the argument
Hello, I am only seeing arcade selections on the main menu wheel on CoinOPS Next 2. I installed Dreamcast and Genesis and do not see those console selections on the main menu wheel. Can you please tell me how I can add console selections to my main menu wheel along with my arcade selection. I tried pushing the start button on my controller to bring up the setup menu but it is not coming up. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I would start by making sure you are using Coinops next 2 official trusted packs and that you are running the full next 2 and not arcade edition. Unzip the packs and copy the contents, which will be the collections folder and often a couple other folders such as layout, etc. Paste them into the root of your coinops next 2 folder. Overwrite.

With CoinOps Next, are you able to play 4 players games such as TMNT, NBA Jam, XMen, Wrestlefest,etc?? If you can, what package do you recommend?
Absolutely. One needs to remember that coinops Next is the frontend...if the emulator, such as MAME for arcade games..if it supports 4 players as MAME does, then you are good to go.

It's currently not quite there yet...right now I can only have Coinops run the actual game, not individual tables. There IS a Future Pinball Pack that works great and works with individual tables.
Does anyone know how to switch the default emulator i have better ones it would be nice to open it
This is killing me. I'm coming from using RetroPie. All the games are running slow for no reason under Retroarch. I was told to turn off Vsync but I can't figure out how to open the Retroarch menu in Coinops Next 2.
Hi great video I got two problems on my coinops 3 max I can't save any retroarch config settings and the other one is when I launch Nintendo 64 and gamecube the game screen is too small and is off center and is under the bezel can you help me
Need help. I can't open Daphne laser disc games on laptop. Resolution problem. Default is 1920x1080. In emulators folder I can't open the daphne emulator to change settings. Where can I lower down the resolution. Possible file and file path?? Thanks !

I'd go to the emulators directory and run dolphin outside of Coinops...see if it runs your game there. If not, you have a problem with the image or the emulator itself.
Mine use to work, Soon has I installed a new copy of windows 10 , it stopped working ,keeps saying a couple of files missing, I downloaded another coin ops emulator and still says the same
CoinOps Next Fixes Pack + Add ons (MAME, Atari Jaguar and Pacman) have you added this to your build. I have a fresh build of coinops Next and i dont know where to start to do my first addon I dont see pc games folder or other folders i need to add this to it.

This might be a stupid question but I have only found 2 videos on UA-cam that explain the install of coinops next , I downloaded coinops arcade edition and the tutorial shows once downloaded to only unrar part 01 and then play from that unrared folder leaving about 25 folders still rared , I have since downloaded COINOPS next the 146gb download , now my question is do I only unrar the first folder like the previous tutorial showed me or do I unrar all 200ish 716mb folders then play ,, there is no clear answer any help would be appreciated, thanks
You are NOT stupid Rich..I'm here to help. It can be confusing. So, what you need to do to install Coinops Next is unrar ALL the files. It sounds hard, but it's really simple. Step one, decide where you want Coinops next and where you have the room. What I would do is make a directory there. Then, and this is simple, RIGHT click on the first RAR file, and DRAG it to that folder...then let go of the button...a menu will pop up...pick the option "EXTRACT HERE". That's it. It will uncompress the entire Coinop Next package in that folder. When it's done..run the Coinops file and you are good to go.

Good evening guys. I am sure my problem is something stupid so here it goes. While trying to copy the downloaded add ons to install on my “R” drive which is a separate 8TB hardrive where my coinops install is located I am getting 2 error messages ....#1 saying there is not enough space on C drive for bigger files like Nintendo switch or PS3. Can someone lead me in the right direction here? I am copying the files to R yet it seems to be trying to still install them on C ?? Any thoughts? Also some stuff is not installing because the file names themselves will be to long for the folder. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I have some questions about the controls of the frontend itself

Does anyone know whether there's a way to mass-edit shaders for stuff like CRT scanlines and curvature, and also bezels?
My preference is to have scanlines (or other custom crt shaders) and maybe *some* curvature but not nearly as much as the CoinOps Next default. I also prefer to play them with the gameplay area maximized; I do NOT want a fake plastic tv/monitor/crt bevel to display around the actual game. I'm undecided on arcade bezel artwork but not 100% opposed to it currently if an original arcade game had it, but only if it doesn't shrink the actual game screen.
If it's not possible to mass-change this for all emulators, can someone point me to where I can at least change it per-emulator? I'm just getting started with CoinOps.
Excuses me Kind sir may I just say that is a great 👍 video very very helpful it helped me add my own roms to a build of coinops next to called gems plus...are you familiar with that? Because I do seem to be having a problem I was hoping you could help me with....? It was a consoles section to it and I have figured out how to add roms to the existing system on their no problem but I I want to add a game/rom to a system not on there like pc engine it will just not pick it up at all I have tried copying one system that works like the megadrive avd just changeing it all over to pc engine but no joy Aby chance you could help I know its a big ask thanks

im lookng for this myself
map buttons in each emulator used for the game.
example i wanted to exit a mame game by pushing player 1 & player 2 button pushing at the same time. while in any mame game i push tab, general controls , user interface, then changed UI CANCEL , erase, then set , by pressing player 1 and player 2 at the same time..
this changes exit for all mame games
i would assume its the same for each emulator for button mapping you map in each emulator ....
to edit coin ops control ( selecting games ) , you do that in the coin ops directory with controls.cfg file..
make a backup of file first then you can play with it...
open CONTROL.CFG by right click , edit,
i added PLAYER 2 BUTTON on the coinops CONTROLS.CFG file to exit coinops
quit = Escape, 2
so to exit a mame game i push , player 1 and player 2 at the same time. then to exit coinops i push player 2.....
while in the game player 2 button will not exit only in coinops main menu

I hope you can help me. I downloaded the 400gb Coinops frontend and I can`t figure out why the cabinets in the game do reflect the games I highlight. The screen on the cabinet is blank. It is kind of sad since it took me forever to download and extract it. I really hope you can direct me to where to look to fix this issue.

I’m running the 400gb coinops next everything seems good when asked to add a coin I hit back button on Xbox 360 controller but when I play atomiswave it doesn’t add coins. Thanks for any help

I am new to this and would like to know if addon packs are self installing? I may also hit you up for some help adding games to my collection. I have a collection built by someone else. Im really looking for additional pinball games or addons to pinball fx2 and 3.
I can tell you that the addons are NOT self installing. Usually it's a simple matter of extracting the files to the appropriate directories, but it can be more complex then that. This problem has been mostly taken care of in the new Next 2 that just released a week or so ago.

@@sorensenbrad1 coin-ops next 2 is not an upgrade. It's a full standalone option. You can migrate your stuff from coinops next over.

Just came across this and I have the CoinOPS Diamonds 3 pack and when I try to open CoinOPS nothing happens. Doesn't try to launch or anything. Now if I browse to the RetroFE.exe and open it that will open and show me the emulators/games and so on but won't load any of the games. But the controller will work as far as navigating the menus.
Have you had any luck so far?
@@AmigosRetroGaming nope. I've installed all VC versions and even redownloaded via Back-up.me and did a hash check. Just refuses to open with the .exe and It does open with RetroFE.exe but no games load. Very weird.
I ran into an issue you mentioned. I have coinOps Next PC. In the Dreamcast emulator, some of the games, such as Daytona USA and 18 wheeler American pro trucker, are not working. They have the videos, logos, and apparently the rom files in the folder, but they don't seem to work properly. I tried to add my own rom of 18 wheeler American pro trucker to the rooms folder in the collections folder. But when I try to launch the game, nothing happens. All I get on the wheel is the text name of the game as you mentioned no video either. The rom I put in the folder is in the GDI format. That is supposed to be supported by redream. Do I have to remove the rom that came with the emulator, and try to launch my game again? Or, what could be the problem?
are you trying to launch from next or just using the emulator alone. make sure you try that first, that way you can determine if it's NEXT or something with the emulator.
@@AmigosRetroGaming I got them to work, thank you. The problem was the name extension. I had to rename each rom file. And the associated video file.
I love the idea but ive had TWO coinops files mess up my PC. first one was from Arcade Punks and it had a virus apparently that snuck thru my antivirus software, then i bought 150 gig HDD that plugs in via USB....it worked for about a month then wont boot up now. Ive been burned by Ras Pie goons and now this. I really just wanna get something that works. i would LOVE to just plug in a USB to my PS4 and play on my big tv
If you really want something like this look on Ebay for Original Xbox with CoinOps 8 installed. Or there are some with a 2tb filled with stuff on them.
Can you copy next files over to next 2
So far I've had good luck doing that. You have to put them in the correct places but generally it's not that difficult.

I've been using coinops in a i7 3ºgen notebook and it is great. but I am setting up an arcade and I am trying to use an old amd64 processor and can not make it work no matter what.. maybe you can help me.. the front end loads but the game doesn't. I have installed all vcredist you can imagine as well as all directx.. I thought it would run anywhere but it seems it is hardware stuff.. any ideas?.. thanks
Are you just trying to load arcade games...is that all you have on there?
Check to see which version of mame you are using...you may have to move away from mame64, which I believe is the default.
How do you know what emulator uses what rom?
good day amigos retro gaming, i would like to know if by any chance you have tried to change any emulator by your own, for example i have troubles with mednafen the one in charge of running ps1 games,, i can't configure joypads i can;t even run it out of coin ops, and when running inside , can't make configuration menu work,,, would like to change it for another one but still searching how to run it inside coin ops ... was thinking about copy paste and change respective lines on note pad .... can you help me?
I have changed to different emulators, but it can be very difficult. Depending on what you are fooling with there can be a lot to it.

It's all about how you set up your buttons initially.
how do you add msx pack on coinops next there"s no emulator on it. It shows mame . How do you get it to work?
I think I adapted the Forgotten Worlds MSX pack over, so this is a pack done by another, much more brilliant person. For the launchers I used this:
For carts - MSX Cart.conf
executable = emulators\MAME\mame64.exe
arguments = nms8250 -ui_active -rompath "%ITEM_DIRECTORY%;roms;bios" -cart1 "%ITEM_NAME%"
For Disks - MSX Disk.conf
executable = emulators\MAME\mame64.exe
arguments = nms8250 -ui_active -cart1 fmpac -cart2 sdsnatch -rompath "%ITEM_DIRECTORY%;roms;bios" -flop1 "%ITEM_NAME%"

Thanks for the video, was very helpful. I recently downloaded the Teknoparrot Add-on however HoD4 doesn’t run for some reason. There are no error messages. It just loads then exits... not sure if you are familiar with this bug or could help me. Thanks :)

I'm working on Teknoparrot right now and can tell you one thing: Windows Defender will remove files necessary to run the games. I would turn it off during extraction and make sure everything is there. Also, run the games in Teknoparrot outside of coinops until you get it working. It will give you specific error messages that you can research and fix.
how do you add windows pc packs to coinops next?
Depends...there are some ready made pc game packs but it's all modern stuff for the most part.
I have a question on added scvmm onto my coin-ops next...I installed it but can't seem to see it in the program.

@@byronkobialko3442 I've just checked it's in the menu directory - my install drive is x so for me the directory is: X:\CoinOPS Next 2\collections\Main\menu Take a look and you will see a file that represents each of your menu collections. They are in the format SYSTEM NAME.txt - the files are empty. If you have everything else setup this will add the system into the menu. I'm assuming the other steps for setup have already been followed - I know there are quite a few - and I'm no expert. If you have collections you don't want to show in your menu you can just move the file / delete it and it won't show in the menu.
