Richard, I am your fan from Singapore! Watching your videos always make me feel like I am walking the trails with you & i can feel the inner calmness. Thank you for bringing us to Taiwan! As a trail lover myself, salute to you on picking up those rubbish and I will also want to start doing the same in Singapore during my hike! Stay safe & best of health to you!
Richard, you’re not only a great UA-camr but also a great residence who shows us how much you care for the world you live, once again thank you for your video
Richard - That's very noble of you picking up other people's trash 🗑. When I was in Boy Scouts; we were taught, "Keep the camp 🏕 grounds cleaner than when we arrived".
I always enjoy seeing trails with cloud waves / covers. Thank you for bringing us to see these giant trees. And thank you for lugging all that heavy equipment to film this video for us. Very much appreciated. I wish you and your lovely family a Happy and Prosperous Tiger New Year. Cheers Richard.
There are uncivilised people everywhere - quite a bit of litter in the gardens & parks of Sg too... On a happier note, the scenery is wonderful & temperature is perfect- what more could u ask for? Maybe a bak kwa to go with the bread? 😉 🧧 Wishing you & your family roaring success in the year of the tiger! 🧧
I don’t know what I did on all my Saturday mornings before you came along… I looked forward to all my Saturday breakfast 🍳, enjoy them while watching your beautiful videos. Thank you for taking the effort to carry all the different gears to capture your adventure and sharing to the world. 👍🏼👍🏼👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I've tried to make it a habit, whenever I go on a hike, to bring a bag and leave the place a bit cleaner than I found it. It's a bit annoying to carry it back down, as your video shows, but it's a great example you're giving here, and helping others enjoy a more pristine nature can be added to the reasons you mention for hiking. Of course one can see the littering as a bit demoralizing, but I try to keep in mind that things just fall off backpacks at times, and children also are often forgetful and leave things behind, so you're not just cleaning up after bad people. Richard, and thank you for your wonderful, inspiring videos! And here's to hoping that Andrew converts you to going vegetarian this year 😈
19:08 Don't-eat-too much! (13 seconds later...) 19:21 ...I noticed a roast chicken place using Chinese medicine....I think the BBQ place is more on using steel tube to BBQ the chicken rather than the chinese herbal content.
Hi Richard, I just found your channel today and I'm really appreciating your hiking videos around Hsinchu. I'm an American living in Zhubei and am pretty clueless about what's around so you're already a big help to me, thanks!
Hi Rchard, happy CNY! Amazing scenery and wonderful cypress trees indeed. In the stillness and silence of the forest....comes self reflections and explorations of our inner spirits. In there lies the essence of life and its simplicity. I shall take your advice not to eat too much An advice easier said than done cheers!!
Lol… No doubt that if you were a little quieter, a little earlier (like couple of centuries), you’d be greeted by a family of Ewok in that hollow 😉 One will never image how quiet a forrest can be until one experienced one. A secluded serenity that you hear your own thoughts… Anyway, over analysing myself When you pulled out that slice of cheese, I immediately knew that it would be accompanied by a slice of ham and jammed into a piece of cheese bun. No matter how tasty, how wowing a foreign delicacy can be, there is just no replacement for the good old childhood snack / bite. Love the drone shoots into the sea of clouds. Love everything in the video (bar the rubbish dumping). Thank you Richard!
Thank you Richard for another beautiful journey in Taiwan's mountains. A lot of enjoyment when watching your videos. Appreciate so much your enthusiasm for picking up that rubbish to keep it clean and beautiful again. Happy lunar new year and well-being over the year of the tiger.
Amazing amazing views! The redwood trees remind me of the ones we have here in NZ, the Californian Redwood in Rotorua. Another great video of your hike, Richard. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
@Richard - You mentioned there are deer 🦌 in Taiwan 🇹🇼 ? In Okinawa (not far from Taiwan), there are no deer. Don't think there ever has been. But there is deer 🦌 in mainland Japan.
You may feel peeved when you find someone putting the pelleted garbage or empty bottles in the basket attached to your bike when you're away. These phenomena are very common in Taiwan. Although I don't want to use the perajative words to describe these people but I don't dispose kindly towards them. they should have been in others shoes and thought how the innocent people dispose of this dirty garbage for them in an orderly city. It's really rewarding to see mountains rise straight up above the cloud see or the pellucid water in the creek.
Enchanting area. Love trees and forests. The litter is sickening. Btw often when you are filming yourself speaking to camera, you mention stuff or views around you but you don't film it which is a bit annoying. You don't have to film yourself as you speak to the camera the whole time, instead film what you are talking about giving a commentary. We know how handsome you are we just want see what you are commenting on! Oh and maybe turn your mic sensitivity down a little or move it further from your mouth as your heavy breathing was really quite noticeable on this video. Sorry to be critical as your videos are good. Hopefully you'll take my points on board. Thank you for showing this hike. If I ever return to Taiwan I would love to do it.

Thank you for taking the trash down the mountain🙂
13°C, great views, big old trees AND snack of bun with cheese and salami …lovely hike to do!
Richard, you’re not only a great UA-camr but also a great residence who shows us how much you care for the world you live, once again thank you for your video

I love spending time with you exploring different places. It's always such a pleasure. Thank you for these experiences!

Nice hike among the giant trees Richard . Good to see you picked up some rubbish , some of those Chinese signs should say “DO NOT LITTER” :-)
Really hate to see those trash. Thank you so much for brining them down.
Great view~
Mountain Chicken ! One of my favorite foods but quite expensive, bookmarked.
It was a bit pricy, but the family got two meals out of it. And it was still cheaper than Nandos!!!!!
Looks great, miss Taiwan

Thanks for visiting

This place is very beautiful 👍
I liked that stunning view of the sea of cloud too.
Happy Chinese New Year. "Don't eat too much" then Richard proceeds to eat the entire chicken LOL.
I didn't eat it all really. I was only joking. We made dinner for 2 nights out of it.
It is always interesting to know your motivations for these hikes. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to seeing more.
Thanks for watching!
I felt very peaceful watching your videos. Inspires me to start hiking.
Go for it!

Superb

I appreciate that

Thank you. I spent some time in Taupo many years ago. It was great.
Happy Lunar new year

Great trip and video
Another winner mate, beautiful places and from all accounts nice people too.👍👍
Thanks. It's true
Amazing views.
Happy the year of Tiger!! ^_^

Good stuff Richard. I'm a hiking lover myself and enjoy your content. Just wondering what video editing software you use?
I use the free version of Davinci Resolve

Thank you for picking up trashes. 😅
Amazing Video as always . Stay awesome .
Thanks
👍😎💕
There was a double murder case occurred somewhere in the mountain recently . Be real careful !
Stay Safe !! 😁😉
Is this giant tree forest get snow fall in winter
It seems so: ua-cam.com/video/-GpJ9anCV5M/v-deo.html
