love the pattern and the buttons. I too got this biox and I am also diapointed. i find that they always leave out the main fabrics needed to make the quilt pattern included in the box. they always omit the background, border and binding. i would much rather have less things and have at least in this case the white fabric included.
I got it and had the same reaction as you. I can live without the he buttons. I’d be afraid to put the quilt with the buttons in the dryer. The thread, my first thought was Halloween. I wish I would have saved my money.
I have some opinions on this box, as usual mine is stuck in Kansas - had to go around visiting all the OZ homies. The only thing that I thought was worth the price were the fat quarters and the pattern is cute. I haven't liked the last two boxes, by that I mean I haven't liked the majority of the items and if I saw the box in a store for the price we paid I wouldn't have bought it. This is the 3rd box that I feel like I was ripped off - especially those buttons. Give me a break, $31 for buttons? No no no no no - she could have put ALL the fabric in the box to make the project for the price of the buttons and package tags. I'm disappointed in this box, was really disappointed in the Halloween box cause again, she could have put all the fabric in the box instead of the leather scissor holder. I can do bougie on my own, thank you very much! I would have been happier if she'd given me the clap ;-) The pattern is only available in the box and the finishing kits are $56 and not yet available. I think it's 4 yards of fabric in the finishing kit for the white/cream background, a blue border and a red binding. It looked like Kona Cotton to me (from the back of the pattern). You can get the entire bundle of 32 fat quarters for under $100 so about $3.00 each. I found Sweetwater on Dasher for $4.50/half yard - go in with a friend if you don't need as much and get a quarter yard for $2.25. OH MAN! A picture of huge cinnamon rolls just popped up and now I want some cinnamon rolls - I might actually have some Pillsbury ones in my outside fridge - I better go look while I'm thinking about - be right back. 🥶stinkin' 15 degrees outside! 😭I'm out of cinnamon rolls - guess I better get up at the butt crack of dawn to get the good ones at the bakery. So, my opinion - I'm cancelling my subscription for the monthly box and I won't be buying another specialty box. Check out PastryShopQuilts and Bella Rose kits - comparable price but you get so much more and not a bunch of non-sense. OHHHHH - I like your pretend snow on the screen! I had our pretend fireplace on the tv going earlier - we are supposed to get snow by tomorrow.
Yeah, I don’t know who has final say on what goes into these boxes, but it feels like they have lost touch a bit. Who knows, maybe we’re the minority and most people love these boxes? 🤷🏽♀️ I forgot to add in the $4.99 reservation fee that they charge so it was actually $70 before tax! 😳 They’re fun to open, but…this might have to be a really short exploration into the world of FQS boxes 🙄 Did you get your cinnamon rolls??? I don’t know if I’d be going out in 15 degree weather for cinnamon rolls though! 🤪 You’re hardcore, Gina! 💪😂 I always look forward to your comments! Thank you! 🥰
Over $4 a fat quarter for fabric you can find on sale elsewhere! I know this because I purchased some to make pillowcases. And that cheap tray you could get at the dollar store and tags you could print at home for very little. Who wants pokey buttons on a quilt? Seriously?! To top it off, you still have to purchase several yards of fabric to make the quilt. Wow 😮 These boxes keep getting more and more ridiculous. However, they do have excellent customer service.
Pretty cute pattern and nice fabric, but I'm glad i didn't pick it up this year. Maybe it would be better with all the fabric for the quilt and no buttons/stickers. Thanks for sharing the box!
$10.98 for that tray? I can get one from the Dollar Tree 😂 Thread is always good, I love buttons, gift tags are cute, the pattern is cute, the fabric is meh. All and all, I’m happy I skipped this year. It went up in price and down in cuteness. lol… Oh wait the fabric doesn’t even make the snowman???!!! That’s nonsense!….. Anywho… Great video! Thanks for sharing!! ❤❤❤❤
I would have to agree with you. Buttons are cute but they would have to be sewn on after longarming…and that’s a LOT of buttons to hand sew. Thanks for taking the time to share it. I did not order the Jolly Box this year…and glad I didn’t. I love FQS beyond measure but I just feel this box missed the mark a bit.
Totally agree with you on this and the value you get is not worth it. I stopped buying them along time ago when they started giving out dupes for stuff we get over and over. The tray is totally junk and you can find it at the dollar store. I find it hard to imagine that the thread was less.
@@ThatCraftyLife I’m really questioning how FQS stays in business?? They have super high prices. Even when things are on “sale” It seems like they are marked up to make profit. I stopped buying from them almost a year ago when I realized I could get the same fabric at a lower price elsewhere. Look I know small businesses have to make a profit but honestly the customers like us also know when we are getting a deal or not.
@@SheilaWC i would love to see what the cost per unit is and why they would mark it up 100% or more. Sorry but I don’t need another plastic tray to collect dirt and dust. For that amount I can use my fabric scraps and fusible to make my own earth friendly container.
@Imaqueen2023 It's eye-opening when you realize how many of the items in their boxes are fqs items. (tray, labels, pattern in this box) This means they pay less than wholesale. I'm also wondering if the fabric was chosen because those didn't sell as well as the rest of the line. The thread was clearly a Halloween item, so they probably got a deal on it. Where they used to give coupons in the boxes, they now give a fqs item (including It's Sew Emma patterns/books).
I like the box and will be thrilled when it finally arrives. Not everyone likes Christmasy themed things though. I love snowman so it’s right up my alley.
I looked on their site. For a full bundle it breaks down to $4.25 a quarter for this line. Since almost all fabric is made in other countries it makes me wonder what it will cost if Tariffs are imposed. Not being political but costs could go even higher.
Honestly I think the pattern is cute, I would definitely have done it, but the price was a bit high for me. I was afraid of fomo. I’m glad the budget didn’t allow it.
I stopped these boxes years ago, I don’t like that we have to purchase more fabric to complete the project. I don’t need cute little items that go straight to donation bins.
Very disappointed I ordered at the last minute and now wish I hadn’t bothered especially as I paid international shipping. It’s just not worth the money and if you don’t make the quilt the buttons are a complete waste and far too expensive. The tray you can get similar for less than £3. Thread is nothing special. In fact apart from the material the rest is very poor choices . I will not buy individual special boxes again.
Love this box. Bravo FQS
I’m so glad that you liked it! I’m always curious to hear differing opinions! Thank you for sharing!

I agree!
I was disappointed in my box! Thanks for video
They're lucky the stuff is cute
Right! :)

Cute snowman quilt pattern. I will probably embroider the eyes and nose. I have a cat that would pull the buttons and nose off.
I forgot to order my Jolly box this year.
It’s cute,
but
where’s the WOW factor?
I’m ok with missing it.
That’s exactly what it was! There was no wow factor! I was expecting more!

I was afraid of Fomo. But I’m ok . I agree with you Gina. The pattern was cute, but I’m glad I didn’t get it.

My pleasure 😊

Yeah, I have scraps that would work for those tiny parts that they gave us! Give me the rest!

Oh my goodness! I didn’t even think of the buttons with longarming! 😳🤦🏽♀️

Right?! The thread was less than half the cost of the tray 😳!!! (Supposedly, anyway 🤭)
My first thought about the tray was that it's a dollar store item.

The fabric is cute, but they're charging $16 a yard for those fat quarters
Is it really snowing there
Looks like a tv with a video.
That’s my tv with a video from UA-cam! They have some really nice ones on there!
I don’t think that the Jolly box was worth the money this time
not that great, you are right
Not impressed.
I'm not a Fat Quarter Shop fan. Wouldn't buy this. Generic. Thanks for sharing

Not worth it! $30 for buttons!!!!!!! I ordered it twice lol. I forgot I ordered & ordered it again!!!!!
Oh nooo! I get so annoyed when I do that! 😩🤪
@ I’m thankful I don’t do it often lol
