First time I watched that episode I thought for sure he might break out and cry but as soon as he switched gears and said “Fine by Me!!!” I pretty much died laughing and actually a little relieved because Ross finally showed a little backbone instead of being utterly dependent on his relationships.

The "I still have your letter thing" is hilarious, but to me, him faking crying is so smart, because he is making fun of his past self during the first break up, showing her that he's grown so much that not only doesn't he feel as broken as he did the first time, but he can also joke about it.

He is not laughing at his past self or joking about it. He refuses to accept Rachel's interpretation so he's being a jerk. He's the same exact person as in the first breakup, but in the first one, he wanted her to move past what he did which he didn't accept as cheating and be with him. Here, he's saying if you want to call it cheating we are done, because just like the first breakup, he doesn't accept it as cheating.
I would say neither of them have grown, this is not how 2 mature adults handle an argument. But it sure makes for great entertainment!

He didn't really hide there. He got stuck there lol.
I had to rewind it back to see how he ended up there. The whole bit sort of relies on people forgetting he's there, which relies on them focusing on Ross and Rachel enough that they don't notice Chandler getting trapped behind the door. Which meant Ross and Rachel had to really absorb all the viewer's attention. It's all a sleight of hand and it's so well done.
How did I never notice him going back there and staying? Like I knew he was there because of the end, but I never actually saw him go back there, then choose to stay there. 😂😂😂

Na Ross was better, I’d say 99% of people agree with it, Ross’s comeback flew cleanly within the back and forth of the conversation especially with the lines in the bedroom. Rachel’s line is the equivalent of going “remember what I said, well I take it back!”. It sounds kinda stupid, and chandlers “I knew it!” Makes it even less affective. The argument of “well she was meaner than him so therefore it’s better” is stupid considering how those things were said

They had a fight and she said she needed a break then a couple hours afterward she talked to him on the phone and said she was sorry and she doesn't want to break up with him and she loves him and he says the same then he hears that mark or Mike guy's voice and he acts like a child and hangs up without even trying to understand what's going on and he goes and sleeps with that girl that was flirting with him when he was just telling Rachel that they're back together ......
