The feeling right before leaving for a trip where you’re left with the choice of either leaving a mess and being anxious upon your return or feeling the anxiety now and rushing around because not only do you have to pack but also clean is TOO real! And then choosing to make the morning hectic so you can rest but laying there ruminating on everything you have to do!!! Ahhh!
This is an aspect of my OCD and anxiety I don’t even recognize anymore because my other symptoms are talked about more. And impact me more strongly, but less frequently.
Worrying and checking becomes so normal to me that I forget that my OCD isn’t just tied to contamination and rituals, and my anxiety isn’t just panic attacks. Especially bc so many people see OCD as just perfectionism when It’s honestly just that extreme discomfort when you don’t check it. It doesn’t actually matter if it’s perfect it’s about quieting your mind’s incessant urge to remind you to be “helpful”. Like oh but DID you do that? Check again. No but what if you imagined it, touch it this time so you know you did it, okay but what if you THOUGHT about doing that last time but didn’t actually do it. Etc, etc, etc.
I just wanted to say thank you for speaking on something so relatable, because people never really speak on those aspects of something, and I often forget that just because it’s my normal, doesn’t mean it isn’t harmful to my mental state. And being able to say “no, not anymore. I’m going to bed.” Is so so powerful and I’m so proud of you, queen!! Ik it isn’t easy to sit with that discomfort, even if all the therapists say it’s helpful to do that.
OCD is literally just you fighting w your mind and trying to tell it to shut up but not being able to and feeling extreme discomfort the entire time 🙃 but thank YOU for this comment - I feel much less alone after reading this. I feel like I don't have a lot of friends who experience the same OCD things that I do so it's so validating that there ARE people out there who do 🥲
Multiple screens are a game changer. When I was in school, it was amazing & now even with editing videos or reference to another page, like you said🙌🏼🙌🏼

I also get so anxious before traveling! I feel like I need 3 to 4 hours before leaving to just pack and clean up my apartment 🤪
Also, I ALWAYS end up forgetting something... once, I forgot my entire suitcase!!! 🫠🫠🫠
LITERALLY!!! I feel like I would need to take a full day to get stuff done JUST to feel actually prepared but obviously that is not a realistic option 😂😭
My OCD is the same when I have to prepare to go somewhere, I have to write it all down, check everything twice and make sure its by my front door so I don't forget anything. Its worse if my severe anxiety disorder and my trauma PTSD kicks in too. Back on the last day of May I had an appointment booked to habe my emotional support dog put to sleep and the night before trying to pack everything I needed or that I wanted my dog to have with her was setting off all 3 conditions. I don't know how I managed to remember everything or how I held it together for the hour long drive to our vets office but I do remember being relieved that I managed to bring everything we needed like tissues, my dogs favorite blanket, etc.
I loved all the Charlie footage and hearing you talk about the crazy shopping experience. 💛
Thank you for specifying you have diagnosed OCD I feel like so many people use that as an excuse for seeming to organized or anxious. It's nice to see there is an influencer pushing back on stigmas like that!

instead of cropping the sweater the entire way around i would just finish cutting the back so its like full length in the front, cropped in the back, and then add a different type of material to the bottom half of the back!! a different grey material, plaid, black, etc etc the option are endless

Honestly I truly believe cats feel our anxiety or at the very least are very responsive to whatever energy we’re putting out. My cat never leaves my side when I’m feeling incredibly anxious🥹💛

cats and dogs have the ability to pick up on distinct changes in your physiology, including changes in heart rate, sweat, or chemicals being produced by your body that could indicate anxiety/OCD. charlie has probably picked up on your personal indicators and comes to lay by you bc she knows when she’s there for you & you pet her, you become more regulated aka she F*CKING loves you and is the sweetest smartest kitty in the world!!!!

Hi! As someone who works in fashion- they cut the back because they were probably searching the fabric for quality resourcing/sourcing - fashion companies do that for multiple reasons. It happens a lot!

I can relate to this video for many reasons-the experience at the store just make me laugh because I know of those sample sales and how aggressive people are. Loved your purchases and your gift bag! WOW! That drawing-definitely frame-it’s stunning! The other things-wow.
I also related with your OCD because I struggle with this too. I’ve done something that helps when packing/checking things and I take a photo of it on my phone. It sometimes helps, sometimes not, but maybe give it a try? It just gives me a visual I can check and then I take a break, go back and re-check. It’s exhausting.
I hope you had a good drive and that Charlie didn’t get sick (you can get anti nausea meds for her from the vet if need be).
Hannah what editing software do you use? I’ve downloaded CapCut and don’t mind it but it’s a bit laggy and driving me crazy.
Charley did, in fact, throw up on the way home 🙃 but NOT on the way back to the city thankfully! I will definitely tell the vet about this when I take her for her annual checkup & hopefully get her something to take beforehand 🥲 I will def try taking photos! and I use Final Cut Pro to edit :)
They will likely give you Cerenea for Charley. It’s an anti nausea and can help. They will direct you when to give it to her (like how long before you leave on your trip) and so forth. Glad she was ok coming back though! That’s good.
