Thanks learned something today...I have Hampton Bay switch Shine Top LS-102, not knowing I bought a Zing Ear 268 S1,,, of course it doesn't work. I have Blk-L Grey-1 Brown-2 Purple -3 on the original so assuming I also need a 268S6 as well?
@@edwarddinardo1248 awesome Glad you were able to figure it out yeah the different color codes and the fact of the switch configuration difference through me for a loop a few years ago myself. Glad the new video was able to help out.
mine is a 5 wire capacitor. just ordered a new one, but the old one does not have the schematic to say what is what.(colors are the same) i guess i will bring my meter from work home and read the capacitor. dont know what meter you have but my fluke has a capacitor check. just hit the select button and go to proper setting, i think mine is on the diode setting swich. i hope this fixes my problem. did not think about pull cord till i saw your video, but i already ordered it. the swich works but it only runs on low speed. BUT something burnt up in there, i can smell it
Yeah unfortunately schematics for specific ceiling fans are hard to come by. It's always good to read the part numbers and trace out the circuit before you start cutting wires
@@Bassguitarist1985 well i replaced it and it worked perfectly. the capacitor had a burnt hole in it. so this 9 dollar capacitor saved me alot of money. as mine was stained glass which had a matching stained glass table lamp. runs smooth and quiet.
Re: honda 4514 repair video from 3 years ago. Can you tell me where you obtained your spare parts from. I need charging coils and cannot get them. Also, will the ride on mower still run if these coils are defective? Any help would be appreciative.
Pretty much yes! Unfortunately it is very difficult to find a color code diagram of the original circuit to make things easy. Some sites do offer some help but it does take some intuitiveness to figure out the circuit.
@@Bassguitarist1985 I ordered the exact capacitor you have in your video, it was the only one I found with the correct wire colors for sure..so I will just follow the colors...Thank You
Can you make a video how to replace a directional switch for the Hampton bay model? Where do I buy the directional switch? Thank you would help a lot.
Thank you for watching! I'll keep the video idea in mind.

If I don't want to replace the capacitor, how do I connect the wires together to keep the lights on?
The lighting circuit and the fan circuit are separate. You shouldn't have to do anything with the lighting circuit if that pull switch is still good
my lights don't work at all....I want to take out the limiter and connect the wires so I can have light. What do I have to do?@@Bassguitarist1985
so basically....just match the colors to the switch and so on..just like the Old capacitor ?
