Have a great week
Wow, that was far less complicated that I'd imagined. Nice work, as always.
Nice work Bill, good to see you and tell Elizabeth hello 👋 🥰🥰
Thank You so very much❗❣🐢👵
This seemed simple to widen the door frame. Thank you for taking the time to show how to do it properly/safely.
And just like that....done! Great job as always! Yes, is does look so much more open. Much blessings.
I learn so much more as you need to work around existing construction than I would watching new construction. I'm so very impressed.
Yeah, renovation is a specific "next level" skill that goes BEYOND new construction. You must learn new construction, then you can apply that knowledge to renovation and figure out how to make that work. There's much more problem solving involved.
@@LiveSimpleLiveFree Do enjoy how you handle it. Thanks
Great job ….looking forward for all the finished job❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Good Job!
Thanks. 😊
You make construction look easy!
I always learn something. Thanks Bill
Another job you made look simple! I have trouble just assembling a small piece of furniture. It's always impressive to watch someone who knows how to figure things out! As Leo walked by did you notice the little visitor you had scamper by?
Leo is always underfoot!
Awesome Bill, thanks for sharing.
Happy to see you making progress!!
Excellent video without all the garbage talk . Now I can do it myself and you got yourself a new subscriber👍
Welcome! 😀
Great job Bill, as usual!👍🏼👏🏼👊🏼
Thank you for sharing. I need to learn how to open a wall in my laundry room to add shelves using the studs. Have a great weekend . Love to you and Elizabeth, Fran
Wow it's looking great God has blessed you with the knowledge of carpentry. I cannot wait to see how gorgeous the room is going to look and I'm sure Elizabeth is looking forward to it too. I know she's going to decorate it so pretty. Wonderful work Mr Bill
You made that look so easy!
Can’t wait to see the finished product!! God bless!
Happy to see you making progress.
You ve done a great job on updating and transforming your house! You re wise to think ahead about the wider door openings and future needs.
Really interesting watching that door being widened. I love watching construction and sometimes destruction. By the way in NZ we dry our dishes with tea towels and dry our hands in the kitchen with a small towel that we call a hand towel.
Looking forward to see it all finished. 👍
Great job Bill! Enjoyed.
I enjoyed Florida but am glad to be back to addition updates!
I rather be in Florida, LOL
What a very nice video.
I love the opening music. Jazz is not usually that enjoyable for me, being a classical musician myself, but that's actually jazz that is nice to listen to. Thanks!
Yep we can’t wait to see everything finished. Summer will be upon us soon. Garden time.
Hello,my beautiful couple. Bill, give my love to Elizabeth. God bless you 💝💝
Wow that looks 👍. when we did our additions we made doorways 42" in wide. So glad you shared with us. Enjoying every video! 🙏🙌💕💯
If we did that, we wouldn't have room for the clothes washer that will sit in the corner next to the door.
@@LiveSimpleLiveFree agreed you you can only go as big as it will let you. That wasn't the reason I made that comment. I was just sharing what we had done. Thank you for responding back! I do enjoy hearing from you! Tells me that you do pay attention to what people say! Makes you a real good listener as well as a good teacher!
Good to see you back on the build. It will look so good.
Those 'Sawzitalls' are a great invention. Much safer and easier to use than a circular saw in situations like that.
Hey Bill Elizabeth... Great job Bill 👍
God Bless and hugs from Denmark
Good Job 👍
As handy as a pocket on a shirt😍👍❤🙋♀️🇨🇦‼️
Good job, what’s next? Tell Elizabeth we miss her! Won’t be long, Elizabeth will be planning her gardens!
Shakin' the dust off my hands...okay, that was easy. Next....lol! Looking forward to the next phase. Love the renovations and can't wait to see the room when it is complete. :)
So fun to watch. Take care and be blessed.
Annother part completed.
Moving along nicely.
Gettin there you two.
Yes, it DOES make a difference! Moving items thru that doorway will make you glad you did what you did. Very Nice!
Ty
God Bless you both and your Family 🙏❤🕊🌻🌻🌻
Good job
Good Afternoon Bill & Elizabeth,I just love watching your channel. Can’t wait to see the finished room.I hope you both have a wonderful week.👏🏻😊👍🏻
Oh my goodness aren’t you amazing! I share all of your videos with my husband and I tell him luck you can do it here’s how. Thank you so much for sharing with us. God truly has blessed you with your expertise. I am so excited for you and Elizabeth this whole project is going to be amazing! God bless you and Elizabeth. Take care stay safe.🙏❤️
Skilled carpenter.
Thanks Bill. You made that look easy.
I'm wanting to do this with a shed in my back yardbut I want to use the fasten what I cut out to the existing door to keep everything I have. The part I didn't know about was widening the header and you made so much easier to understand. Thank you!!!!
Nice Job. I had to make 3 doors wider at my Dad's house. Once he got a walker he had a hard time getting in his bedroom, bathroom, etc. Now I'm 65 and where ever I end up retiring to, is going to have wide doors and a ramp if there are steps outside.
It's amazing how a little change can make a great difference!👏👍😃
Great video. One thing my dad had the foresight to do when he built his and mom's house (my childhood home) was to make all interior doors three feet wide. It's a ranch style house and he also made the central hallway four feet wide. Like you said moving furniture and wheelchair access is much better with wider doors.
Now u gotta clean up all dust good job
Very interesting and quick. What looked like a complicated project was a cinch for you!
I really love your channel!
Every time I watch I feel like I'm hanging out with family learning.
If it be how to's or spiritual edification, it's as if I'm learning things for life that matter. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing this information. It's never as easy as tv shows it. My husband is a mechanic as his hobby/former job and home renovations is not his favorite. We have 2 windows that have started leaking when we get heavy rain storms. They were caulked so we don't know why leaking since we have been in this house now 5 years and it was built by some Mennonite man and his crew.
Let's just say we made the biggest mistake by allowing them to build our house. Anyway you could do a video on sealing around windows and these types of issues please? Thank you.
Oh I signed up under you and Elizabeth for Thrive. I'm so excited I should be getting my 1st order soon. Can't wait for my monthly deliveries. 😁
God Bless You Both 🙏 ❤️ ✝️✝️✝️🦋🌻🦋
Looks so nice!
Nice to see you back to work on the renovations. The Florida trip seem to go by so quickly for the both of you. Blessings
I haven't been keeping up with y'all or with any other channels for many months, but I always enjoy seeing a construction project because it's the kind of truly helpful thing that a lot of us need. I have a can-do attitude, I just don't have can-do knowledge! I think there are a lot of us out here like that.
Thanks bill! 😊
My son built an addition on to his home for me. 600 Sq ft. But going from1400 to 600 the most pain was downsizing belongings. We made the door opening wider for the just in case wheelchair. I just moved in and I love the wider doors.
You think of everything and know how to do anything and make it look easy. What a blessing.
Sweet. !! Love it.
God morning to you Bill, Elizabeth, and Leo. Glad to see you Bill back at it again finishing up on your home improvements. Your home is coming together very nicely. Blessings and ❤😊🐱 everyone!
Yep you did an excellent job …
Oh its going to be a lovely addiction.
👋😄 Good morning Bill! I love these remodeling videos!💞👏😁💙 God bless you and Elizabeth, and may your good works prosper unto the glory of our might Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. 🙏💌
Good job, Bill. Teaching a lot of people in a simple and short manner to do these things themselves. I'm sure many are very thankful for these videos.
I love watching you do your building jobs. Love to both you and Elizabeth 💕💕
Smart to think these things ahead of need, whether it's one of you, or even a guest. I'm lucky to have a husband who thinks like you. We've had guests come in wheelchairs who were grateful we had wide enough openings.
Looks Good!
bACK TO WORK! SO TALENTED!
You made that look so easy. You truly are a master at carpentry. Your reno is shaping up. Sticking around to see it all come together. :)
Your husband is a gift from the Lord.
I like Leo just strolling by in the middle of hammering, my cat runs under the bed when I close a book too hard.
When your videos are going off, I feel the same way I did when we'd have to leave our grandparents house to go home. I hate it!🤣♥️♥️♥️
Never saw that done or explained so clearly. Thanks. God Bless you and Elizabeth.
Is "just about perfect" the same as 'perfect enough'? Askin' for a friend. LOL That looked so easy. I could see a definite increase. Who knew a couple of inches could make such a visual difference? Though it does seem the same when talking about waistlines.
My 1980 mobile home has some bad rot extending around an exterior door and into the hallway floor. Watch your videos to learn and because God is your guys' main focus in life. Thank you and bless you both
Excellent job Bob, you always make construction look so easy.
Thanks a bunch, a real pleasure (and instructive) to see a pro at work (with all your explainations too!)🙂
Glad u know how to do all that. Happy to see more work on the house. Best wishes to you both.
Yup, done this a few times. Can be loads of not fun. One of the worse ones was in a house that didn't use drywall. It was lath and plaster. Worst flip ever. Had to gut the who house. The ceiling joists were sagging, had to pay a crew to come out and do asbestos abatement because under 4 layers of laminate in the kitchen were asbestos tiles...
That was one of the last houses I worked on.
Other than my own house. That works never ends
That was fast. I love that you do things the right way, never cutting corners.
Hope things are working out for you guys. I have been getting ready, as much as I can for what's coming
Amazing how easy it looks with the right tools and of course the knowledge which you seen to have a lot of😊👍
Great job to "make it right" I have to do this at my grandfathers house, over 100 years old. Thanks for the education.
Great video.
I had my doors widened for my wheelchair and so much dust which having brick walls
That was interesting. I didn't know how the bottom of the door would work out but you made it simple and easy
I'll never have another home or build another home, probably a Senior living center is the next stop for me. But after living in a house for 40 years in which all of the doorways were too narrow to move furniture in and out, I would never build another door that's less than 60 in. 👍
A 36 inch door is generally adequate to move any furniture. But many interior doors are only 32 inches (or even 30). And that's the problem.
@@LiveSimpleLiveFree my husband and I both had chair and a half lazy boys, and we had to take the sliding glass door out and bring them in through the patio. Then they had to stay in that room. If you wanted them in the living room, too bad. Even the lovely Little Queen Anne recliner that I wanted in our bedroom could not be gotten through the bedroom door. Houses used to have roomy entrance and exit doors. Now they just put in whatever size they happen to have a warehouse full of.
Great job Bill. It is consistent with having the ramp outside of the house. Accessible......right? I would like to have learned how to build a house, wiring, measuring standards, plumbing etc., in high school. I thought learning how to make my own lamp was it....who knew there was more. I never did get to the mechanics classes either, awe shucks. With your skill and knowledge in the mind of young adults....? Priceless.. Now I see were your son gets his influence.....
Tea with Jesus is the best ❤😊
😊❤️
❤️
👍🏻
Looking good! Will the washer and dryer still fit?
Yes. 😊
I'm surprised the cat isn't supervising; my cat would be in the middle of the door making sure I was doing it right!
😄
I think I could do that. Lol no way!
Why wasn't the wall shored up?
ezzeeee peeezeee.
What size are the header boards? Thanks
I don't remember what I used here. But it would usually be 2x8
@@LiveSimpleLiveFree ok thank you for replying
