    Just my two cents, no hate. Disclaimer: I've been riding since 2010, started off with an alu trek before moving on to a canyon and spending 10k to build up my current s-works sl6. So yes, I've spent a lot of money on a bike too.
    I personally find it quite interesting/amusing that a lot of new cyclists here in SG who are just getting into the sport are rushing to get top of the line superbikes. It's almost normalised. We hear comments like "Aiya bro, just buy dura ace la. Don't waste time with Ultegra." all the time during rides, or at post-ride breakfast. Maybe this is due to the frequent 'poisoning' of friends or lots of time spent on instagram.
    Yes of course, everyone who is into the sport would love to own the best equipment, and yes everyone is free to buy whatever they want if they can afford it. Just thought its interesting. It's a point that I've heard being mentioned multiple times by foreigners who come to singapore - that we are obsessed with equipment/looking good/what people think of us. This doesn't apply to just cycling of course. Same concept can be said for buying a Rolex, or the latest Hermes bag.
    I've ridden overseas with amateur groups in france etc and people were almost 'in awe' of my sram force axs... why? Because many are still on 10 spd mechanical groupsets. Just today during my ride I heard a lady talk about her new bike. A $20+k Pina Dogma F. It's her third bike, and she only started cycling 6 months ago.
    We Singaporeans are damn rich la. And very lucky to be able to afford such amazing equipment. Just a bit of food for thought eh?

      I think the idea is to "level up" to use gaming term. I'm thinking that since this pandemic is running almost out of steam with the relaxing of measures, we might see a lot of high spec'd bikes being sold on Carousell.

    Finally the appearance of SL7. Your story is really encouraging to those who wants to lose weight through cycling. Now we know your name. No more SL7 nick. 👍
    P/S : Oompa, his expression on bike is by far the happiest in your interview videos. Upload as and when possible for you. Main thing is to enjoy and not burn yourself out. 👍

    No hate or anything but didn't know people really believed in the marketing.
    -The roval bars being faster than aerofly (basically the same bar with more curves)
    -Roval being optimized for sl7 (there is some truth to it but a 1cm deeper "unoptimized" rim will be much faster)
    -12r carbon (just hate it when companies slap their own names to an oem product with slight modifications ir there is any)
    -1 bike to rule them all (in races? Not really)
    -Aerodynamic (compared to a tcr? Yes. The venge? Hell no! Just looking at the swuare downtube its not)
    *Not really marketing
    -better climbing (2 kilos doesnt really slow you down that much. Its a negligible difference but it sure damn feels wayyyyyy better to climb)
    Y no spacer on chimney tho?
    Overall, sick bike, would rather buy a venge if specialized. Madone, aeroad, 795 blade rs, or dogma if i was to pick.

    better than the TCR by 2 minutes margin? must be more of the rider getting stronger, drafting or tailwind i would think. Even Oompa was about to burst out laughing.

      160 front 140 rear (y)

    • @fingerboard1102
      @fingerboard1102 2 роки тому +3

      160 front 140 back is standard for world tours now.
      Wider front rotor allow better power for braking, since the front wheel plays a bigger part in braking

    • @7vjo
      @7vjo 2 роки тому

      Nice. Recent Milan San Remo winner madej mohoric also put a wider brake rotors on the front for better descending performance. 👍

    • @jinngeechia9715
      @jinngeechia9715 2 роки тому

      Smaller rotors actually have better modulation compared to bigger rotors. So the rear having a 140mm rotor is better. I use rear braking on descents and even on sweeping descents. Stopping power with the 160 rotor is better on the front.
