Nah you're good mate. Great job honestly, you animated some really enjoyable scenes in the show for me. I'm impressed that YOU were the person that cleaned up everything with the running animation in GhostF**kers, WP 👍
It's so cool to see the actual process of animation instead of just the final product. I always thought that the backgrounds were animated alongside the characters, instead of after
Generally they are, but they're usually on another layer and turned off when animating (or the transparency is set very low) so it's not distracting when you're trying to focus on animating. You'd want to still have them there to check in periodically to make sure you don't accidentally make the character step off a ledge or somewhere else physically impossible but a lot of animators in the industry I know do this to make the overall process easier :) Also, to shed a bit more light, when animating the very basic steps are 1. storybording (static posing and placing) 2. roughs (rough animation that can be messy as you're focusing on movement and key poses) 3. clean (no colour, but clean and "final" lines based on the roughs) and 4. colour. So imagine you're trying to prefect the placing, movement and posing of your animation in roughs or clean lines. If you had the background present or fully visible your animation lines can get lost in the background and it's hell to try and even see what's going on!
✨🤩Wow what a beauty I really like your animation is so beautiful and smooth you are a very talented person thank you very much for helping in creating the show Hell Boss you are the best 🏆✨
This is really cool to see how episodes are split up between all the animators/clean up artists. I wondered how it went considering how many there are. Really interesting to see the length differences and multiple different scenes. You (and the others) did such an amazing job of this, this season looked so awesome.
Stolas: “I’M POOR NOW!” (2:18) Me: “To think it took him a month to realize he was ‘stepping into the real world’. Wait a minute, isn’t that about how long the cleaning-up process for an episode takes (depending on its length)? Usually 3 to 8 weeks, with a team of…….. at least 38 artists (just looked it up, wow 😳) Well, I learned something new today.”
Nice animation reel I'm asumming the white background was helpful a lot due to most of the character designs have black parts such as the legs and horns?
This is awesome!! Question though, what exactly does clean up animator entail? Did you do the coloring, or coloring + the lineart, or something completely else I missed while watching?
Idk if i have a chance for a reply buuuut: How do you lay our your layers for animation? -Are all characters animated on their respective layers? if so: Do you break characters up into parts? Example: torso, head, arms etc. or do you split it into background, foreground etc
It's been one
