After so many years, I still remember how fun and challenging it was! Despite its age and modern era games, I still think this is the best game.

Wow, that was one of the funniest and most anticlimactic "boss battles" I've seen yet. Dude whips out the sword and almost plunges to his death, then it's a one-hitter-quitter to END THE ENTIRE GAME. Excellent.
I remember beating this back in the late 90's. Was soo frustrating trying to figure out Level 12 shadow and leap of faith puzzle. I solved the puzzle by accident, I pressed down during the sword fight with the shadow, and as soon as your shadow mimicked the movement, I got soo excited. The game automatically puts you in a fighting stance when the shadow appears before you, your immediate reaction was to jump into battle right away. Every hit you take or give, you loose control of situation. For the ones who played Karateka and finished it, this puzzle pays homage to it's ending in which you have the choice to either approach the princess in fighting stance and get killed, or run towards her for the good ending. Unfortunately I did not finish Karateka until later. After merging with the shadow, I was stuck thinking what now? i went around every corner of level 12 after merging with the shadow to look for a hidden passage or door. Nothing. The leap of faith idea was very random and I wish there were clues to this other than knowing the game is all about trial and error. Considering I've died a lot in this level before and after merging with the shadow, you just had to try that path the jump the fuck out of it. When the platform appeared, 10 year old me attempted to hump the keyboard.
I came for the comment, I stayed for the keyboard humping.
I think in POP2, you need to alternatively pressing forward and backward arrows for the prince to get the fire protection (he will sort of glow in fire); that too I found out of frustration. (someone still playing in 2023) :)

Just one Blow Jaffer died. Makes me laugh too much. But great idea . For years I was not known what to do with shadow but when I saw this video it looks very easy . I think I will replay this game again.

lol yeah, the fight with Jaffar is supposed to be this long, dangerous epic final battle and then the player is just like "sigh, I don't have time for this shit, die now". xD

The shadow or ghost, from what Wikipedia says, is the Doppelgänger of the character created through the mirror ... like a trap, illusion and another mirror of the game by the Vizier to try to deceive and defeat the player ... I must admit that this idea was already far ahead of its time. Can you imagine fighting against your own self and not knowing how to defeat it without dying due to the fact that you hurt yourself and do not fight you die the same, although the answer to beat him is so simple and is it right under your nose? Very ingenious, really.

This is such a great game, playing now after 20 years. Every level has a nice challenge. This one is too tough though... That Jaffar fight made me laugh, they seem to play it so easily here.

Many times I reached this level as a kid - I had no idea how to deal with my clone... I wasn't aware that I was so close to the end.

Prince's shadow (in fact, his own reflection from magic mirror) - solution is unite it instead of fighting (and hurting yourself).

I don't know why people seem to assume you have to fight the Shadow. You can just put your sword away and jump into him right away.
I tried working this game for a long long time and stopped playing in vain .. Very recently i cleared all the levels .. The moment i got the princess , i cant imagine the pleasure and pride in finishing one of the toughest games of all time !! And it stood as one of my best gaming experiences! Hail the prince of Persia !!

The first few minutes of this level are friggen hard!! I died nearly 50 times trying to get to Jaffar. By the time you face Jaffar, it feels like a walk in the park (sorta).

el audio es distinto no? no me acuerdo que ordenador tenia pero los sonidos eran distintos y la musica aunque la misma sonaba distinta..
Yo recuerdo el audio original de MS DOS de este juego, solo reproducía sonido interno de la misma PC (no vendían parlantes en esos años) recuerdo el Sonido de la Machucadora del Stage 3, las espinas del suelo y el piso que se cae, las puertas y todo eso ... Estoy buscando un vídeo con ese audio original pero parece que no existe. Aunque esos sonidos aún los recuerdo perfectamente, desde que era niño me dió miedo a mis 8 años y me hizo llorar un poco de pánico, luego le agarre valor al juego a mis 9 y fue de mis favoritos de por vida, el audio de ordenador era de Windows 95 o 98 pero del mismo DOS

I never got to beat it when I was a kid. But 10 years after I stopped playing, I earned my own money, purchased a computer and I was running the same copy from 10 years before (I preserved the game by copying it into new sources to avoid corruption of data). As an adult I beat the hole game in a weekend. And it felt so good :D. It took me much more time to beat Jaffar btw...
Haha that good old times.. I remember i played this game a long, long time ago and i couldnt beat Jaffar and then i replaced my old computer with a new one and i didn't have that game at that comp so i forgot that game, but now i want to play this game so much...
